ICloud Control Panel 3.0 for Win8 syncs bookmarks with Safari removed

Is it true that iCloud Control Panel 3.0 no longer syncs bookmarks with Safari for Windows? According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759 Safari for Windows is no longer supported, only IE, FF and Chrome. I need a work around if this is true.

After I have installed the iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows. My harddisk has been formatted to RAW. Can anyone let me know why???? That's crazy!!!

Where is the updated iCloud Control Panel 4.0 for Windows with iCloud Drive compatibility?

When is iCloud for Windows 4.0 to be released. I saw a link but, now it's gone. It appears that Apple advertised iCloud Drive, but oddly wasn't prepared to have it ready.

HT203687 iCloud Control Panel continuously asking for repair

iCloud Control Panel repeatedly asks me to Repair it on my Windows Vista PC. I have been using iCloud to sync my Outlook 2010 with my iPhone 4s and iPad for several months now. All of a sudden it is not working. I suspect that it started when I updated my iPhone to iOS 6.0. Apple needs to fix whatever happened. I did not change anything. Same computer, same Outlook, same phone, same iPad, just added iOS 6.0. Anyone have the same problem? It really is not acceptable to lose appointments and contacts.

I think you need iCloud 1.1.
Note: after I removed 2.0, my iCloud calendar completely disappeared from my computer, which was alarming, but the calendar was still on my iPhone. When I reinstalled the earlier version, it all synced up OK.

Icloud control panel windows 2.0 - selective sync?

Does anybody know if it's possible to only sync iCloud Contacts into Outlook, and not contact, calendar and mail. I specifically only want to sync contacts wiht Outlook, this way my contacts are all stored in the cloud, but available in Outlook and my iPhone. I don't want mail and calendar syncing to my work laptop. This used to be possible with icloud control panel 1.x but now with 2.0 it's all or nothing sync. Really *****!

I was also disappointed by the "all or nothing" approach, but there is a sort-of workaround: when you install ICP 2.0, it asks whether you want to merge "all things" or "some things" to the cloud. You choose "some" and then you get a list of contacts/calendar/tasks. Uncheck the calendar box. Then the iCloud calendar appears empty in Outlook, and your contacts will still sync.
But beware there is a bug in ICP 2.0 which makes it difficult to send mail. See this other thread about that:

Hi everyone. I have been working this same problem for some time now. This PC is Win8 with MS Outlook 2010. After repeatedly repairing and reinstalling the iCloud Control Panel - you'd think I would have realized this approach wasn't going to work. Finally I did!
To fix the problem, uncheck all iCloud selections, Remove all iCloud references in Outlook and then enable iCloud mail. Later you can enable Books and Photos.
More explicitly;
In the iCloud Control Panel uncheck Mail Book and Photos
Click Apply and then click Close.
Next open MS Outlook
Go to Outlook Account Settings, remove all references to iCloud.
Close Outlook.
Reopen the iCloud Control Panel, nothing should be checked.
Check “Mail, Contacts, ...”
Click apply
iCloud started configuring Outlook. J
