Icloud control panel server error in widows vista

Had to uninstall all icloud, itunes, apple update, etc in order to clear a "file not found" message at windows boot/restart. That worked fine, but now after reinstalling icloud control panel for windows vista, I can't sign in to configure. Getting "You can't sign in because of a server error" message.

Hi I am using iCloud Sync for Windows (Chrome Sync) and I keep getting the error message that there is a "server error". Any insight? I checked the server per Apple's suggestion and everything is "green" lit on their end.

To solve this problem you can:
Windows 7
1) Click on Start
2) Type cmd and press enter
you will see a new window
3) type "netsh winsock reset"
4) restart the machine
should work.
If still does not work you must disable the firewall and antivirus

ICloud Control Panel Runtime Error

Hello,
The Apple update service carried out an update yesterday to the latest versions of iTunes and iCloud Control Panel on my Windows 7 Toshiba notebook. Following the (requested ) reboot, all attempts to log into the iCloud Control Panel result in a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error, code R6034 with a message to contact the application's support team for more information.
If I OK all the error messages, (three times), it finally logs into the iCloud server.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest version of the Control Panel software, but the result is the same.
Short of going back to the previous version, are there any workrounds that I can try in order to resolve this.

I have the same problem with windows 8.1. This is very annoying. The error pops up on every boot.

HT5622 How do I check what version of ICLOUD CONTROL PANEL I have on Windows VISTA HP?

Apple support says when using a Windows computer with VISTA, to insure the ICLOUD CONTROL PANEL is 2.1.2 or earlier. How do I check what control panel I have on my HP to insure we are in compliance? (Am having sync problems with calendar.)

Has anyone installed Jan 22 iCloud Control Panel 2.1.3 for Vista?

I'm wondering if anyone has installed this http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1687 (post date on the link is Jan 22, 2014)? If so, did you do it independent of any other Apple updates (like iTunes), and did everything work OK?
I'm wanting to install it (in the hope that I will get bookmark sync working again between my Vista and iOS devices), but am reluctant to do so after the iTunes debacle earlier this week. As far as I can see, the iTunes update still isn't working right (I used System Restore to back out of it and am waiting to see when the coast is clear before trying again. (Yes, I did see links about manually deleting files and all that, but prefer to wait for update to be fixed)

OK - reporting back.
I installed with no problems and was able to open iCloud on my PC and check calendar, notes, reminders. Haven't yet checked bookmark syncing, will get to that when I can.
(I have Vista, IE9; have backed out latest iTunes update before installing this version of iCloud Control Panel)

Windows icloud control panel installer error

I control uninstall or repair the Windows Icloud 4.00. I cannot install the update 4.01 either. Any workarounds? Symantec has a utility to completely uninstall their software in Windows. Does Apple have the same?

When trying to install iCloud for Windows in Windows v8.1 64 bit I get the error:
"The installer encountered errors before iCloud Control panel could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To try these operations at a later time, please run the installer again"
I have disable the Anti Virus, removed other Apple apps, re booted the system and have tried the installer several time from several sources. THEY ALL FAIL.

ICloud control panel is freezing under Windows Vista and Windows 7

I am running iCloud under my 2 windows PC's wich meet the iCloud system requirements. My iMac does not as it is a late 2006 21" model so I have to use the web site for it.
When I launch iCloud on both machines it seems to freeze the control panel but not the entire system.
this happens both at machine startup and if I launch it manually through the control panel itself too.
the control panel version is 1.0.1
I have a first gen 64GB iPad running iOS 5.0.1
Both PC's run iTunes 10.5.5 and Microsoft Outlook 2010
PC 1
Windows Vista home Premium SP 2 32-bit
4 GB RAM
IE 7.0.6002.18005 256 bit encryption
PC 2
Windows 7 Professional SP 1 64-bit
4 GB RAM
IE 9.0.8223.16421 256 bit encryption

Icloud Control Panel Installation Error

Using Windos 8 and Outlook 2010
Things were working well and then iTunes stopped woking. I installed it and reinstalled it. No progress. I then uninstalled iCloud and reinstalled iTunes and it worked. Then I reinsatlled iCoud 2.1.2 and it refuses to complete the set-up with outlook. I tries iCloud 1.x as well. Same. I unstaleed everything including Offcie 2010 and deleted my primart .pst file (I use imap so its all on the server anyway). I even used a registry cleaner to really remove any traces of outlook and icloud. Reinsatlled Outlook and icloud but I still get stopped when I try to set up Mail, Contatcs, Calendars & Tasks. Bookmarks and Photo Stream are fine.
Any thoughts?

In order to get mine working in the same situation, I had to delete both the iCloud data file and the [email protected] e-mail account. Once that was accomplished, I was able to get the iCloud installer to close Outlook and install itself correctly. Trying to recreate the accounts again from within Outlook was not the solution and resulted in this error.

I'm using iTunes 11 + iCloud 2.1 + Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.
It still says I need to access Notes, Calendar etc. from iCloud.com.

It was working fine with iCloud 2.0 but I had to reinstall iCloud 2.0 and then it stopped synching.

Solution to iCloud control panel 4 sign-in server error under windows 8.1x64

Potential solution for icloud 3.1 and 4.0 installation and iTune store sign-in, all showing errors or sign-in errors due to server error.
My setup is Iphone 4S upgraded to ios8, ipad Air still on 7.1.2, windows PC on Win8.1x64 and with icloud 3.1 working fine till I tried to
upgrade/install/re-install 4.0 icloud control panel after upgrade to ios8. See end of message for other alternatives I had tried.
This worked for me.
There seem to be some programmes that is conflicting with Apple's, so download this free program autoruns suggested by Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
Run the program and choose the the "Winsock Providers", any other programme that shows up here except Bonjour (which is used by Apple) may be conflicting with the sign-in.
Uninstall those potentially conflicting programs
Inside autoruns->Winsock Provider, right click on the conflicting programs and choose delete. This would stop the conflicting program to start up
again. Reboot the computer
Install icloud control panel, sign in
If works, reinstall those conflicting programs again and all back to normal, with iCloud control panel working
If doesn't work, my mojo not strong enough and you need to google for more help.
Other activities I googled, tried and failed
a) Adding Apple icloud program and services into the windows firewall
b) Uninstall version 4.0, re-install 3.1 (about 10 times)
c) create a new Apple ID to sign in
d) Sign out of icloud from my devices (iphone and ipad)
e) switch to Android devices

You need to edit the MSI installer and change the Launch Condition to allow iCloud Control Panel 3.1 to be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2.
First, download Orca, an MSI editor. You can get it from the Windows SDK. (Download and only check the box for "Development Tools" under Native components during installation, then go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\Bin and install Orca.msi)
Launch Orca and then find the iCloud(64).msi to edit.
If using Apple Software Update, browse to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update and open iCloud(64).msi in Orca.
Or download iCloudSetup.exe and use a zip program (7-zip) to extract the MSI from the exe and open it in Orca.
In Orca, select the LaunchCondition table and look for the condition "(VersionNT >= 601) AND (MsiNTProductType = 1)". Change the number 1 to a number 3 so the condition should read "(VersionNT >= 601) AND (MsiNTProductType = 3)". Save and exit Orca.
Then double click on the msi and it should install successfully now.

I have :
turned of the windows fire wall and antivirus protection
stop and started the bonjour service
done the "netsh winsock reset"
updated all the drivers
I can login to icloud.com with no problem and view my calendar.
Apple chat also provide me with a test id and password to try to install the icloud panel, I got the same error message???
