ICloud deleted my notes from February 1 to 16

I had just revised a note on my iphone on Friday Feb. 14. When I checked for this note on Tuesday Feb. 18, I found that all notes started or revised from Feb. 1 to Feb. 17 are gone, missing or deleted from icloud and my iphone. Apple, please explain what is going on and help me restore these missing notes.

If you synced your phone AFTER deleting the notes on your phone, don't bother trying to restore from backup, as the notes have already been erased from your backup.
Unless you also sync notes OTA, & they have not yet been deleted, then your notes are gone.

I just deleted a note from the Notes App form my ipad3. I don't use iCloud. The only place this note was is my iPod and iPad. Is there any possible way to recover this note?????
    Thanks in advance

Thank you sberman, yes the first thing I did was check my iPod. Instant synching works great between the iPad and iPod, so it was deleted there as well. On both devices I have my Notes account to the same account.
I ashamedly have not synched to iTunes for ages. After I calmed down I realized that most of the info on that deleted Note I had copied and pasted from an excel file in November. I'm in the process of doing that again, and am only out the recent info.

I accidently deleted a note from my iphone 5 is there any way to recover it from icloud?

You have to start by erasing the phone so if there's any newer data on it that is not contained in your last backup, you'll need to save that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.  Then sign into your iCloud account and choose your backup to restore from.
Be sure you phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take a while to finish.

  • HT1535 I've lost a very important note on my ipod touch. Most of it should be synched on my computer.  If I synch now, will it delete the note from my computer or restore it on my ipod??  Thanks!

If you properly erased all data on the iPod it would be exactly how it was the day it was bought. You would be instructed yto set up your iPod and to sign into your Apple ID account etc. If this has happened to you, you have properly erased your iPod.

  • How can I delete unwanted notes from iCloud

I have an iPhone 4S.  I turned on the iCloud feature and chose to have my Notes backed up.  Somehow I ended up with multiple copies of Note files on my phone.  When I delete the Notes I don't want from my phone, they reappear.  How do I delete the note files from my phone and have them removed from the iCloud so they are not automatically restored?

You can't permanently delete them, but you could hide them so that they don't show in the cloud for redownloading : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases

  • ICloud Deleted  Local Contacts From Address Book

Okay, so I tried setting up an iCloud account so a family member could receive texts and messages via iChat. That was the original goal. I successfully set up an account, but iChat does not allow me to login via the iCloud account that I had set up. After sever attempts I decided to put that on the back burner until I had a little more time to look into it. In doing so I seem to have caused some other collateral damage which I didn't anticipate (see below).
Unfortunately, as I logged out of iCloud on the iMac, it wiped/deleted every last contact that was in the address book. My question is: How can I get them back?
I suspect that there is a "previous" or "prior" image of the data what was there. I'm guessing that Apple put some type of safeguard in place for just such an occurrance, though I could be wrong.
The Machine is a 2011 27" iMac running 10.7.5. The last backup of the address book that I can get to is from 2011. Actually it's the Address Book Folder in users>Library>Applications Support.   I made a copy of the entire system drive AFTER everything was migrated over from the old system that was replaced, and have it on an external drive.
    Some notes:
    - Time Machine was not active or on
    - iCloud was never activated until just recently
    - the person does not own an iDevice with any of the contacts
    - iCloud does not seem to show any contacts to even bring back onto the iMac
It seems like a really silly thing to have any local data removed AT ALL upon signing out of iCloud. What's on the machine should remain on the machine unless the enduser literally goes out of there way to purposly delete the information stored there. There should be no dialog box what so ever even indicating that data will be removed, and even if the data was removed there should be an easy way to undo the action in case the enuser misinterpreted the action. Before any of the data is removed from the local the information (or at least a copy of it) should have been automatically stored to the cloudspace PRIOR. Why on earth would Apple set it up in such a way where the default is to delete any local data at all?

No. Absolutely not. We'll just have to agree to disagree. iCloud should be able to be turned on or off on any given device associated with said account. Local stores should be synchronized and that synchronization should happen continuously if connected. When not connected, local stores should maintain their state. What would be the purpose of even bothering to "sync". Or are you saying that in effect everything is copied to a central location (ie the cloud) and any devices wanting access to that data need to be "signed in", and in effect becoming nul terminals with no local store? Why should the default assume users would want to delete the synchronized data upon sign out?  iCloud should be a "use as needed" tool and not an "either/or" tool. In this case *it* should have backed the data up to begin with. That is the purpose after all. I (wrongfully) assumed in haste that the information was backed up or copied elsewhere and that even if I chose to delete it from the local device, I would still have access to it because it was stored "somewhere". And if the data wasn't synced/backed up to "the cloud" upon sign-in, then a friendly reminder alerting the user that now data had yet been saved would certainly go a long way. But this derails the entire thread. All I want to know is whether or not there is a way to retrieve the data that was erased from the iMac?

  • ICloud Deleted a document from all my devices and I didn't want it to. Help!?

I just upgraded my ipad and my mom's ipad to IOS5 a few days ago and I linked them both the the iCloud. What I didn't anticipate is that when I chose to allow the iCloud to work for my documents in pages, it suddenly transfered the files from my mom's ipad to mine and vise versa. Seeing these unwanted documents and not knowing what she was doing, my mom promptly deleted the documents that had been mine from her ipad and suddenly they all disappeared from mine too! I cannot find them anywhere! Can anyone help me??? I had three very important documents in there! I only have hope because my ipad says that it last backed up to the icloud yesterday at 10 PM so shouldn't that mean that my documents are floating around somewhere? I tried going into the settings for the icloud and into the files it has saved for pages but all that I found was a list of all the documents that were my moms which did not get deleted. Is there any way for me to restore my ipad to the last backup from the icloud? I assume that that should restore the documents somehow since they were there at the last restore but I could be wrong. The reason they suddenly synced together was because my mom and I just now opened our newly updated versions of pages for the first time and they asked us if we wanted to use icloud and when we chose yes they synced everything because I have my moms ipad set up with the same apple ID as mine. Any help?? If it is not possible to restore my documents can anyone at least give me some advice on how to stop this from happening again in the future? Thanks for any help!

Sounds like you're both sharing the same iCloud account.  Don't.

  • HT1766 How do I retrieve mistakenly deleted note from my iCloud backup

I mistakenly deleted a note from my iPad, I need this note, help how can I get it back

The way I did it was to:
    1. Go to my iPad (or any iDevice): Settings: General: Reset: Erase All Content and Settings.  This will wipe clean the iDevice, prompting you to set up as a new device or restore from an iTunes or iCloud backup.
    2. Restore from iCloud backup.  I had just deleted the note, so I chose an iCloud backup from the day before. You will need to be connected to your wifi network at this point.  Let it go through the motions of restoring the information.  It will give you an "estimated time remaining" status bar.  You need to be by your router at this point.  Once it finishes restoring, your iDevice will reboot. During the reboot, your iDevice will be loading all of the information that it just downloaded from the iCloud backup.  At this point, your old note will be in there, but as soon as it loads, if you're connected to the internet, it will re-sync with iCloud and you'll will right back where you were before you did the restore. I know because I did it once already.  To stop this from happening:
    3. As soon as your iDevice starts to reboot, turn off your wifi router or otherwise make it to where the iDevice has no internet connection. Your iDevice will finish loading the iCloud backup, and your notes will be as they were the day before or at the time of the last back up.
I only had one note that I needed to retrieve, so I copied it and opened an email and emailed it to myself. I was a little concerned that this may not work, seeing as I was not connected to the internet, but, once I reconnected, the email sent. Naturally, at that point my notes were all synced back to current, but I had the note in the email and, thus, was able to recreate the note.

  • HT4859 I deleted emails from my account that had my notes in them.  I had a LOT of very important notes.  Is there a way I can recover my notes from iCloud?  The notes were saved in a gmail account and I emptied the trash.  Are my notes saved "Somewhere?"

I have an iPhone 4s.  I did not know if I deleted my notes from my gmail account, they would also be erased from my notes.  My last backup was in April, however I have added a LOT of notes since then.
    Please help me

I have a similar problem But I am on the iCloud. From what I understand and  been reading is the only way to retieve the the note is to  get a thrid party recovery software to dig it out of the hard drive. Yes?

  • How can I recover iCloud deleted notes?

I recently deleted a note from my iOS notes app, since I have previously enabled icloud backup for notes, the same note disappeared even from my iPad and even from my Mac, I had a lot of useful data there and now I am in a serious trouble. Is there anyway I can recover my note??? Please help!!!!

If your note is gone from iCloud.com there is only a few ways to possibly recover deleted notes on iPhone.
The first things I would check is a iCloud Backup, a iTunes Backup, or a 3rd party email that may have contained the note. To restore from a iCloud or iTunes backup follow HT1766. This article explains how to restore a device from either back up.
Note if you have backed up since the note went missing, you will not have the note on the backup. Make sure you do not back up if trying to restore from a back up as this will back up the content without the note.
To get to the "Set up assistant" on an iOS device, you must go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings. Once the phone restarts, you will be at the "Set up Assistant"
Gmail emails are very commmon sources for notes and you may have been adding them to the gmail notes without even knowing it.
    Best Regards

  • Deleting notes from lost iPhone4?

How do I delete all notes from a lost iphone remotely with tracking still on? I see that using icloud erase feature deletes all data and the phone cannot be tracked once I use this feature?

You either wipe the phone, or delete the notes from iCloud entirely.
You do realize you can passcode lock the phone using Find my iPhone, right?

  • HT1766 "How do I recover a deleted note from Notes with a 4s iphone"

I accidently deleted a note from my Notes app.  Is there a way to recover the note?

iTunes backs up notes.  So you can recover your note from your iTunes backup as explained in "How to restore from a backup" in the iTunes section in the HT1766 article you attached.
Of course, this assumes you created such a backup before the note was lost.

  • Move notes from one iphone to a different account

Recently I changed my wife's iPhone from my ID to her own, so we can keep our data separate, but this deleted her Notes from her phone, I still have her Notes on my phone; how do I move them to her iPhone without deleting data when changing the iCloud ID?
    Mine is a 4S, her's is a 5, both with IOS 7.03

The easiest, but not most convinient way would be to send her the notes via email and then copy them one by one in her notes account.
