ICloud destroyed my contact groups in Outlook 2007

I have windows 8 and in my Outlook 2007 I created some (coloured) groups of contacts.
A few weeks ago I received from Apple a email, because I own an iPhone 5, that I could get my contacts
synchronized with Outlook. I had to give the version and some steps to implement it.
I also had to create a new iCloud address. I thought it might be useful.
Now weeks later after my vacation I come home and I remember that I have to send a mail to a certain group of my contacts.
I open my Outlook 2007 , emails everything ok, until I open my My Contacts / contacts:= totaly blank!!
Underneath is a box with iCloud / contact in iCloud: I can open there my contacts (I hope they are all there?) arranged alphabetically, but all my groups of contacts are gone! hours and hours of work wasted!
How can I get my contacts in my Outlook 2007 back into the groups classified as I had created them?
Microsoft and Apple do not directly support a suitable solution.
How can I reverse the steps that I did before synchronizing to iCloud ? The contacts (groups!) are not in “deleted items” !
Please help !

You can get your Contacts back as they were by signing out of iCloud and then restoring your backup (if you have made backups). If not, you can't.

My blackberry tour does not sync my contacts anymore with outlook 2007. I do not get an error message. Help!!

Norton is probably the issue. It can really screw things up, that is one reason I never use it. See if you can temporarily disable it and then try the sync and see if that works.

    Hello,
How did you back up your contacts in Outlook 2007?
If you exported your contacts into a .pst file, you can refer to this article to import your contacts into Outlook 2013:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/outlook-help/import-contacts-HA102919678.aspx
If you exported your contacts into a .csv file, please check this:

    Hope it helps.

  • W can I bring over my contact Categories from Outlook 2007 to my iphone 4s?

How can I bring over all of my contact Categories from Outlook 2007 to my 4s iPhone?  All of my contacts have synced, but I have nearly 1500 business contacts and need to be able to filter them down by Categories as I do in Outlook.  Is there a way to do this or an app?  I am coming to the iPhone from a Windows Mobile platform that automatically brought the categories from Outlook to that smartphone.

Sync old iPhone 3G to iTunes on your computer. Then connect new iPhone 4S to computer and Restore from Back-Up of the 3G. This command can be found, on Windows you right mouse click on iPhone name in left column of iTunes, on Mac Option click on iPhone name in left column of iTunes.

I cannor sync my contact groups from Outlook 2010 (Win 7) onto my iPad.  Can anyone help please ?

in Itunes, once you connect the iPad, do you see the 'info' tab? Tap that and scroll down and see if outlook is chosen as the place to sync contacts from. If not, check it and sync and see if your contacts move over.

  • Make icloud contacts the default contact folder in outlook 2007

Recently Outlook 2007 Contacts defaulted to the Contacts folder under My Contacts instead of the Contacts in iCloud folder under iCloud.  The iCloud folder is at the top of list but Outlook does not default to it when I open Outlook 2007.  How do I change the default folder that opens when I start Outlook 2007?
    Here's what I see.
    CONTACTS
    All Contact Items
    (Drop Down Menu)
        Search these date files
              Personal Folders
              Archive Folders
              iCloud (check marked)
              [email protected]
    iCLOUD
Contacts in iCloud (I want Outlook to default to this folder)
    My Contacts
Contacts (this is the default folder when Outlook opens that I can't change)

  • ICloud Contacts Sync with Outlook 2007

I have an iPhone5 and an iPad2. I have been using iCloud to sync Contacts between these two devices for a few days without any problems.
Today I installed iCloud Control Panel on my PC (running Windows 7 and Outlook 2007) to let me keep Contacts in sync between my iPhone5, iPad2 and Outlook.
Everything seems to be working correctly and Contacts are in sync between all three devices. However, in Outlook I see a message at the bottom of the window which says "Synchronising Hierarchy" - there is a rotating icon to the right of the message. This message has been displayed for the last 3 hours.
Does this indicate some aspect of sync is still in progress or is there a problem?
Thanks in anticipation of your help.

On his phone, sign in Settings>iCloud and enable Mail so that he can have his own email address. Then add your account in Settings>Mail, Contacts & Calendars and enable Contacts and Calendars. They will then appear on his phone alongside any syncing he has set up. This will keep your emails separate, or you can add Mail as well so that you can both access that if you want. You can add his account in the same way on your phone and enable any data types you want to sync.

  • Can I send email to an iCloud contact group via Outlook 2010

When I installed iCloud on my PC so I could share my Outlook 2010 contact info with my iPad, I lost all my distribution lists (contact groups). I created a new Group in iCloud and copied several contacts to it. I also assigned those specific contacts to one category, thinking perhaps I could select easily based on category.
Now I want to select that entire group (or category in the "to" of an email. If I click on the "To' button, I am taken to my general iCloud all contacts folder. Category is not a criteria by which I can select. If I try to type in the name of the Group, it is not recognized.
If I have lost the ability to send group emails, I am going to be one unhappy camper!

You would need to create a new Security-enabled DL in the Exchange Management Console. Rackspace will help you accomplish this.

  • Sync iPhone Contacts Group to Outlook

I have a iPhone that was sync with other mailing system. Now I want sync those contact to my companys outlook and it's sync succssfully. But I find that was miss the contact groups information and cannot edit it in the outlook. It's strange that the iTurn can display the contact group information but it's cannot be found in the outlook.
    What is the problem?
    Thanks!

i have a new iphone as of last week -- had all my contacts in outlook 2007 in one group and synced them. then i figured out I could create groups in folders-- which would make searching easier on the iphone. i did that and they show up in itunes and sync perfectly.
fyi -- (i couldn't get "contact groups" to work -- i had to create new folders in outlook contacts instead of groups. that may help the problems listed in this thread.)
now, i'm trying to figure out how to "delete" the initial contacts (that are all of my contacts in one group) from the iphone and leave them on outlook.
i'm working with outlook 2007 and a pc. the initial sync in essence duplicates all of my contacts and is unnecessarily taking up space on the iphone.
    any ideas?

  • Cannot search iCloud sync'd Contact details in Outlook instant search

    Relevent topology:
iCloud (contact database) > iCloud Control Panel for Windows v1.1 > 32-bit Outlook 2010 (fully updated)
I am able to perform "Instant Search"'s on iCloud sync'd contacts in Outlook.  What I am having trouble with is trying to performa "Instant Search" on the contact details, which works flawlessly on normal Outlook-generated contact folders.
As this document (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4861) explains some issues with the Outlook Calendar, I was wondering if there was a similar issue with Contacts, and if there are any work-arounds.
    Thank you

I've had a very painful experience with multilingual support on Microsoft's products and this is one reason that I ditched Windows Mobile (the other being that I was terrified by its user friendliness).
To be honest, I'd be perfectly happy to ditch Microsoft Outlook as soon as a perfect substitute for Outlook Tasks appears on the Mac OS X platform (NB: I am aware of the iPhone/iPad task management solutions or the web-based ones - I am not interested in those).
From the entire Outlook suite, Apple covers Mail, Calendar, Contacts reasonably well.  They are not so advanced in features as Outlook but they do the job.  Tasks is the only one that doesn't exist on Mac OS X - to my knowledge, at least.  If someone knows something I don't, then please fill me in on the missing bits.
I can see the benefit of the iCloud but only among Apple's devices.  I think that once it hits the PC platform, issues are propping up (inevitably).
Is anyone aware of whether this issue still persists in MS Outlook 2010?  I am using Outlook 2007 for now as I don't any reason for the upgrade.  But if the situation with those iCloud sync folders in Outlook is better in the 2010 version, then I might think about upgrading.

  • Icloud add-in is missing in outlook 2007

I installed icloud control panel on Windows 7 running Outlook 2007...The first time it synced by Contacts to iCloud.  After that,no more syncing. I checked for icloud add-in trust center..nothing.
I have uninstalled and installed icloud countless times...tried everything..
Contacts will sync the first time (causing more duplications), but after that...nothing.
I also have added constact to the icloud contacts (not regular contacts folder)...no sync..
I have called apple support...they listened but no help.
    icloud is worthless!?

I had this problem and have just now solved it. Here is what I did.
My system is Win 7 Ultimate with Outlook 2013 64 Bit.
    1. Unchecked the tick in front of "Mail, Contacts, Calenders and Tasks" in the iCloud Control Panel
    2. Signed out of the iCloud Control Panel
    3. Uninstalled the control panel
    4. Rebooted
    5. Access the "Mail" applet in the Windows 7 Control Panel
    6. Clicked the "Show Profiles" button
    7. Clicked on the "Add..." button and created a new profile
    8. I set this "New" profile as the default one by selecting "Always use this profile" and picking the new profile just created
    9. Downloaded the iCloud control panel and reinstalled it
    10. Let the iCloud Control Panel do its thing.
    11. Setup your me.com or icloud.com address when prompted
    12. Start up Outlook
    13. iCloud will start up and setup the Outlook System to work with iCloud
    14. Problem Solved
    15. Add all your other email accounts now

  • My contacts disappeared from Outlook 2007

My contacts are now ONLY in iCloud. I got a folder in Outlook called Contacts in iCloud (or something), which was rather silly, but acceptable.
However, now Apple has removed all my contacts completely and left me with an empty Contacts folder in my PC (Win 7) / Outlook 2007.
The most ridiculous thing however, is that my contacts "pop up" when I write a mail... without giving me any clue the contacts are there before I start typing....
In my iPhone things are normal; I have my contacts and all is well....  Apple just has made it impossible for me to see my contacts...
PLEASE GIVE ME MY CONTACTS BACK...

  • How do i back up new phone contacts to microsoft outlook 2007 ?

iam using Windows 7 Home Premium OS, and have all my iphone contacts saved on microsoft outlook 2007.
Every time i add a few new contacts to my iphone 2G 3.1.3 OS, and sync it to Outlook 2007; all the contacts from outlook overwrite allcontacts on iphone. I end up losing all my new contacts created on iphone. I am using iTunes version 10.1.0.56.
Please help me with the right steps to save my contacts and messages and voice memos too.
    Thanks

The safest thing to do with your pictures is to import them to your computer, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  You can also back up your contacts separately by using an app like My Contacts Backup.
Then back up your phone, either to iCloud or to your computer using iTunes, as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766.
