I am new to icloud and have linked both my Macbook Pro and my ipad to icloud.
Can I access my documents, that were created on my Mac, from my ipad?
If yes, then how?

Which particular documents are you referring to. If they are iWork documents, you can open and edit them on either your computer or your mobile devices providing that you have the application on your computer and the app on your mobile device.
When you create a new document on your Mac (for example pages), when you save it you will be asked if you wish to save it to iCloud. By doing so you then make it available everywhere, but you need to make sure that iCloud is enabled in both the applications on your computer and the apps on your mobile devices.

It's either in local folders, as it seem you had been doing, or in icloud. If you go into the mac's Pages and view the icloud files, you can drag on onto another to create a folder. But you can only have folder one level deep, so you can't organize your files/folders like you can on a mac, using nested folder several levels deep.

Placing the Mobile Documents folder in the Finder window sidebar allows for quick access to files in the cloud:
From the Finder, hit Command+Shift+G to bring up the Go To Folder window, and enter the path to the user Library folder found at ~/Library/

ML upgrade went smooth but I can't access icloud document library from pages or any other app?

The upgrade went OK but I can't access the icloud document library as described in the Apple features section. I can't get the dialog option in either Pages or Numbers Open boxes and it is not an option in Finder either.

1. Switch to Finder bt clicking on your desktop
2. On the Menu bar is the Go menu
3. Click on it holding down the option key and you should see the system library listed (exact wording escapes me I am not in Lion)

You cannot access iCloud on a Mac running Mac OSX 10.4. Are you sure, the system version is correct?
If you are running iWork '09 (iWork 09 9.0.1) on your Mac with Numbers 2.3, you must at least have MacOS X 10.5.6 installed.
if you want iCloud support for iOS apps, you need the iWork 9.3 update,see: About the iWork 9.3 Update
And this update requires OS X Lion v10.7.4

Hello, after updating to iOS 8, I can no longer access my iCloud documents on iOS 8. When I go to Settings and look at the files, every one of them says "Encrypted File". When in the app, no documents show up. The affected apps are Numbers, Keynote, and GarageBand. I can access them on my phone, but I don't have enough space to put GarageBand on there. How can I access my files?!

Read carefully the seed note that came with the Beta version you installed. We are not allowed to discuss Beta versions in the public forums. Look for a paragraph re " Pages, Numbers, and Keynote".

Tap on the pdf document in order to open it, When you have the PDF file open on the screen - tap anywhere on the open document and an arrow will apper in the upper right corner of the screen - tap that arrow and a window will popup for Open In options. Select Open In Adobe Reader and the PDF will open in Adobe Reader and it will be saved in that app.

I can't find how to access/import my iCloud documents in iOS iWorks?

According to the iCloud settings on my Mac, all Documents from Pages, Keynote and Numbers are automatically saved to iCloud.
Everything is iCloud enabled in Settings on both my Mac and iPad (iPad Air, iOS 7.1.1) and Documents and Data is turned on etc.
However, when I open my iWorks (Pages, Keynote or Numbers) apps on my iPad, there seems to be no option to import or open files from iCloud?
This is very frustrating, so if someone could help that would be great.

They should show up in the document manger when opening up any of the iWork apps for iOS. If they do not, then check out the article below for some troubleshooting steps to go over including resetting iCloud Documents & Data service.

Pages & Numbers do not see iCloud documents

Numbers 2.5 (1711) and Pages 2.5 (1712) on my iOS8.2 iPhone 5 do not see my of my iCloud documents.
I use the same Apple ID & password for my iMac, iPad, & iPhone, and have no syncing issue with the Calendar, Contacts, Passbook, Messages, Keychain, iTunes, FaceTime, Maps, Safari, Reminders, Photos, or Notes across the three devices.
I have turned on the iCloud iPhone settings, including those under the Numbers & Pages Apps, but when I open Pages or Numbers on my iPhone they display, “No document. Tap to create a new spreadsheet” or “No Spreadsheet. Tap to create a new spreadsheet” respectively.
When I check Pages or Numbers iCloud setting after opening them, the setting is off.
Numbers & Pages on my iMac, and my iPad can access & sync all my iCloud documents without any issue.

Calendar uses a different protocol to sync. But I *think* TextEdit and third-party apps use 'Documents & Data' just as iWork does.
I've never noticed that 'Manage' button. I see that it gives you a look at usage and, of course, a convenient way to buy more space!
I assume you've double-checked the top-left corner to make sure you're not out of space.
One thing you might try (after making sure you have backups of things you really need) is to copy a Numbers document into the Library > Mobile Documents > com~apple~Numbers folder and see if that somehow "kick-starts" the sync.
I assume you've done all the usual things–shutting down and restarting the Mac, etc.

Pages iCloud document overwritten with older version

I have been working on a document in Pages for OS X for a couple of months now. I also opened it a few times on my iPhone, but not in the last few weeks. Just now I opened it on my iPhone again, but I was presented with an old version (from when I opened it on the iPhone the last time). I closed the document and to my shock, I saw that it was being uploaded to iCloud.
Immediately, I go to my Mac to see that the document had indeed been overwritten by a four-week-old version of the document. Now it looks like four weeks of work are lost.
Does anyone know if Apple keeps backups of iCloud document and if I can ask Apple support to access them? Or can I somehow access them myself?
Certainly the last time that I will store a document in iCloud that actually has any professional relevance.

Looks like I answered my own question - surprisingly enough, Time Machine works for iCloud, and I could recover a reasonably new version of my document.
Still, like I said, it is a clear indication to me that iCloud is not fit for professional usage. To me, it's a huge bug that Pages does not check if it had actually opened the most recent version of a document before uploading a new version into iCloud.

What is your MacOS X version?
If you have iCloud enabled, and set it to share "Documents & Data" in your System Preferences > iCloud Tab, you should be able to see your pdfs stored in iCloud in the Preview application on your Mac.

I'm trying to open some of my iCloud documents at work from a PC via iCloud.com. This has never been a problem before but now when I try to do so I'm presented with a message along the lines of:
"To use Numbers you will need to upgrade to iCloud Drive...."
The trouble is, if I upgrade to iCloud Drive I then won't be able to access these documents from my Mac at home as that will need to be running Yosemite (it's currently on Mavericks), nor will I be able to access them on my iPhone or iPad, both if which will need to be running iOS8, but both of which aren't capable of running iOS 8.
What do I do? The whole point of storing documents in iCloud was so that I could access them across platform, now that doesn't seem possible. Is there anyway I can still open MY documents from my PC without 'upgrading' to iCloud Drive?

If a Pages '08 document doesn't open in Pages '09, the problem is not Pages '09, it's that the document is corrupted.

No, there isn't what you are looking for. Maybe someone else have a work around.
Download the Pages User Guide by going to the Help menu in Pages. there you see what you can do.
