ICloud document uploading error

Whenever I try to upload a document (.docx, .xlsx, or .pptx) into the iWork tab in www.icloud.com , I always get an error stating "There was a problem uploading the document. Please try again." Can I use the iCloud service as Google Drive (to upload a document and download it somewhere else?)

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have OS X Lion and it requires OS X Mountain Lion. You can upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion, so open App Store > Purchases, and download Mountain Lion (I tell you this because it looks like you already have Mountain Lion in your other iMac; if you didn't purchase Mountain Lion, purchase it).
While it's being downloaded, make a backup of your files and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com When the download finishes, the Mountain Lion installer will show up, so follow its steps. After upgrading, open a iWork application and you will be able to see the iCloud files.
Another way to see them without upgrading is to open http://www.icloud.com, log on with your Apple ID and select iWork

  • Mac will not open iCloud "Documents" - No Errors

    Hello,
Over the past few days, I have noticed that my iCloud documents will not open on my Mac.
I am able to edit them on my iOS devices. (via Numbers, Pages, Keynote for example)
I am able to Save new documents to my "iCloud"
I am NOT able to open the new documents from my iCloud
I am able to edit the new documents on my iOS devices
I am able to save new documents to my local machine
I am able to open the new documents from my locla machine
I have not made any preference changes to the system.  The only way I am eventually able to OPEN iCloud documents, is by completely restarting the system.  Then it works, at least for the first few times I have tried.
Any thoughts as to how to root cause?
    j

I am not sure why this works, but it worked for me.
The behavior I am experiencing happens when I open Numbers for the first time, I am prompted with the open dialog box.  If I attempt to open a file from my icloud in that dialog, I am unable to open any document, i.e. this is the behavior I am experiencing.
I opened a file from my local machine
Left the file open from my local machine
I then used File- > Open and chose a a file from iCloud
    The iCloud document opened successfully.

  • Icloud document upload

I'm trying to figure out how to upload my microsoft office documents, excel sheets, and powerpoint onto icloud so I can access my work documents remotely on my ipad and it won't let me drag and drop from my Mac desktop to the icloud. I have two options to learn more about pages, numbers, and keynote or purchase the iwork suite. Do I have to purchase the iwork suite in order to upload any documents (word or pages) to icloud?

To be able to use documents at iiCloud.com, you need at least one iOS device that uses the same account with at least one of the iWork apps installed.

  • ICloud Drive Upload Error/Space Used?

I attempted to upload a 3 GB .zip file to my iCloud Drive through iCloud.com.  When it got to the end, it gave me an error saying that the upload failed.  Despite that, I've lost 3 GB of my storage space, even though I can't find the file anywhere.  I even deleted the folder that I was attempting to upload the file to, thinking it's some kind of temporary hidden file, but that didn't free up the space.  Is there a way to get Apple to delete the temporary file or whatever it is that is taking up the 3 GB?

An Aperture vault cannot be stored in iCloud drive. If you put it on a synced volume it will be corrupted by syncing.  Write your vault to a locally connected disk like described here for Aperture Libraries:
Use locally mounted Mac OS X Extended volumes for your Aperture library
A vault is essentially an Aperture library, so the same holds.   I tested putting Aperture libraries, vaults, and iPhoto Libraries onto iCloud Drive. After the first sync they needed repairing.
. When I set up a Vault using the iCloud drive it says I have insufficient space. Clearly I don't!
How much free space is on your Mac?  You can only write files to iCloud Drive that will fit on all devices that are connected to iCloud Drive. iCloud Drive is not like an external disk - it is a shared storage for syncing your Macs. Everything you are writing to iCloud Drive will be mirrored to your Macs. See:  iCloud Drive FAQ

  • Payment document upload- error in the claering dates.

    Hi All,
I gone through the document numbers in production system the following dates are updated for this documents.
What we need is to find the root cause for the issue of why would two documents does not get cleared while the other 3 were cleared immediately. Also, we had system issues today during the same time. Please check if you can find any OSS messages out there on what happens if the system shuts down while the finance documents are being processed. Do they get stored in a temporary table some where and what would cause those documents to be passed to PCA while they are in this u201Climbou201D?
please find the below documents for refernce.
Sl No Document No Document Date Posting Date Baseline Dt clearing Date

the diffrenec in it picking the diffrerent claering date. but it has to pick the same date for all the documents.
Please let us know why it is picking the different claering dates and sometimes it performing the System shutdown.
Note: these 5 documents are updated in BKPF table for the date 2/11/2010 but it should not cleared all the documents. it has cleared only 3 documents.
and only 3 documents are updated in GLPCA table for the date 2/11/2010 and two cleared on 3/01/2010.
now the problem is why it has updated BKPF table for all the documents on 2/11/2010,even the documents are not cleared?

  • Documents uploaded to icloud disappear when I turn off the IPAD

documents uploaded to icloud disappear when I turn off the IPAD,I can see the documents only when icloud is open on the PC

When you turn off any device, it will disconnect from the internet. My sense is that you're not quite explaining what's happening. Do you mean that when you turn it back on again it doesn't automatically reconnect? Do you mean the if it just goes to sleep (as opposed to being powered off) that it switches from WiFi to cellular? Or are you saying that you think that when you turn off the iPad, the router disconnects?
If you're trying to say that the iPad disconnects from WiFi when asleep and switches to cellular, the solution is to keep it plugged into a power source.
    Best of luck.

  • I cannot open iCloud documents on my MAC I went to preferences etc and it did not give me access. My error says I need an updated version of numbers but I have the latest version

    Mac OSX 10.4

I cannot open iCloud documents on my MAC I went to preferences etc and it did not give me access. My error says I need an updated version of numbers but I have the latest version

You cannot access iCloud on a Mac running Mac OSX 10.4.  Are you sure, the system version is correct?
If you are running iWork '09 (iWork 09 9.0.1) on your Mac with Numbers 2.3, you must at least have MacOS X 10.5.6 installed.
if you want iCloud support for iOS apps, you need the iWork 9.3 update, see:  About the iWork 9.3 Update
And this update requires OS X Lion v10.7.4
Is your iMac compatible with Lion or later?

  • ITunes Match Upload error

I have a CD that I purchased through iTunes in 2006 and all but one song has uploaded to iCloud.  The message I get when I try to upload the song "The song was not uploaded to iCloud because an error occurred."  It doesn't tell me why and it seems strange that all songs upload, but that one.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Dennis

The current iTunes Match service is effectively down at present - so it may be a challenge to resolve for a few days.
The usual route to resolving such issues is to:
    1.  Securely back-up current library;
    2.  Remove track from library;
    3.  Re-rip from CD in 256 kbps AAC format using iTunes;
    4.  Select Song in library and request 'Upload to iCloud';
    5.  Update iTunes Match from Store menu.
Best of luck - worst case, there may be a corruption in the original file but it is unlikely if step 3 completes.

  • Pages iCloud document overwritten with older version

I have been working on a document in Pages for OS X for a couple of months now. I also opened it a few times on my iPhone, but not in the last few weeks. Just now I opened it on my iPhone again, but I was presented with an old version (from when I opened it on the iPhone the last time). I closed the document and to my shock, I saw that it was being uploaded to iCloud.
Immediately, I go to my Mac to see that the document had indeed been overwritten by a four-week-old version of the document. Now it looks like four weeks of work are lost.
Does anyone know if Apple keeps backups of iCloud document and if I can ask Apple support to access them? Or can I somehow access them myself?
Certainly the last time that I will store a document in iCloud that actually has any professional relevance.

Looks like I answered my own question - surprisingly enough, Time Machine works for iCloud, and I could recover a reasonably new version of my document.
Still, like I said, it is a clear indication to me that iCloud is not fit for professional usage. To me, it's a huge bug that Pages does not check if it had actually opened the most recent version of a document before uploading a new version into iCloud.

  • EMD upload error

    Hello all,
I don't have an Enterprise Manager GRID CONTROL, but the Enterprise Manager which comes up with the Oracle Database 11g.
My problem is that when i sign in on Enterprise Manager page ( https://localhost:5500/em/console/logon/logon ), i don't see that green up arrow that status is UP (and also those charts), but status: Agent unreachable: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/846/21442127.jpg/
I tried to do what is specified in the Metalink(also here: http://blog.contractoracle.com/2009/05/emd-upload-error-upload-was-successful.html ), but the problem persists. And that metalink note (317242.1) applies to EM Grid Control. So i don't have a Grid Control.

"The agent collections will stop when the space on the disk is used beyond the default. Solution is to release the space on the disk."
Ok, how to release space on the disk? What exactly means this? I have enough space on my D partition, where the Oracle product is.
Please help, i want to see the EM page like this: http://oracleflash.com/22/Add-ASM-Instance-into-Enterprise-Manager.html
    Thanks!

    Hi,
According to your agent status output you only have 0.13% of disk free. You need to delete some files to clear the space.
Available disk space on upload filesystem : 0.13%
There is a file called emd.properties (on UNIX) that has the following section in it. You can modify UploadMaxDiskUsedPct to bypass the space restriction, but the default is 98% and in your case, you would have to change it to 100% to work, which is probably not a good idea.
    # The maximum amount (%) of disk space that can be used on the EMD filesystem
    # before the following is disabled:
    # - Collection of data (upload manager)
    # - Logging and tracing
    # - Diagnosability traces
    #@description=
    #@valueType=Int
    #@LOV=
    #@default=98
    UploadMaxDiskUsedPct=98

iwork for ios accepts for upload and also happily opens all your Microsoft office files, from Office97 standard doc/xls/ppt to the 2011 versions of docx, xlsx, pptx and various other of these format extensions.
Notice : the upload feature in www.icloud.com is only active if you in fact own these apps on your iPhone/Pad/pod. it is not a feature of iWork for the Mac ( iwork09 ) which itself is not icloud capable at all.

  • Cannot connect Facetime, Messages, iCloud Documents

Hello people! I'm having problems connecting my iCloud account to Facetime, Messages and iCloud Documents (I mean when I enter Pages, for example, It does not upload new files and doesn't download them the existing files either. But I can connect the same account in Preferences (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Notes, Reminders) and iTunes, without a problem. Actually I have iMessage and Facetime working fine in my iPhone.
    It says
Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again.
I've read lots of solutions but none had worked for me.
    1) Restored /private/etc/hosts file
    2) Deleted all the files with the name ubiquity, ubd, imagent, facetime, messages from Library
    3) Deleted certificates and password from Keychain.
    4) Changed my DNS to Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) in Preferences and my router.
    5) Tried disabling router's firewall.
    6) Opened all the ports in my firewall. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4245)
    7) Installed a fresh copy of ML 10.8.2
    8) Tried to login after I killed Imagent process
    9) Singing out and Signing in again on iCloud.
    10) Tried changing from static to automatic timezone detection.
    11) Tried using Wireless connection instead of ethernet (For timezone detection).
    What else can I try?

    Hi kauer.taylor,
By process of elimination you in fact have a different issue as you have a Serial number.
However I would check that this matches the one on the label as I have heard of bogus numbers being put on machines.
Which of these 11 items have you tried ?
    1) Restored /private/etc/hosts file
    2) Deleted all the files with the name ubiquity, ubd, imagent, facetime, messages from Library
    3) Deleted certificates and password from Keychain.
    4) Changed my DNS to Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) in Preferences and my router.
    5) Tried disabling router's firewall.
    6) Opened all the ports in my firewall. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4245)
    7) Installed a fresh copy of ML 10.8.2   Hold Off on this one just yet.
    8) Tried to login after I killed Imagent process
    9) Signing out and Signing in again on iCloud.  This should be in the iMessage Account in Messages as it does not have to be the iCloud Apple ID you use.
    10) Tried changing from static to automatic timezone detection.
    11) Tried using Wireless connection instead of ethernet (For timezone detection).
