ICloud doesn't support Firefox 7.0.1?
I am using MacOS 10.6.8 and Firefox 7.0.1, iCloud says my browser isn't supported but suggests I use Firefox (or Safari or Internet Explorer). What gives?
you need OSX Lion.

MAC OSX 10.4.11 I succumbed to the constant messages telling me that I didn't have the latest version, despite being happy with the one I had. My old version and all my bookmarks have been deleted and now my Mac says it doesn't support Firefox!!!!! How can I recuperate my old settings? in English
Firefox 4 versions and later '''do not run on a PowerPC Mac''' (like yours) and require '''at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac'''.
The latest supported version for your os is '''3.6.27''' , you can download it from:
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
1. Download a 3.6.27 copy of the Firefox from the above link
2. Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install.
3. Install the new version that you have downloaded(3.6.27)
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so probably you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data, if you don't already ''totally'' uninstall firefox(user data and settings like bookmarks, extensions, etc. located here: ~Library/Application Support/Firefox so you must uninstall it separately, to totally uninstall firefox).

HOW TO PUBLISH YOUR WEBSITE ..FROM IWEB ..WHEN I USE TO USE MOBILE ME .. BUT NOW THERE IS NO MOBILE ME BECAUSE OF ICLOUD, AND ICLOUD DOESN'T SUPPORT IWEB PUBLISHING?
When MobileMe goes down the drain, you will need to move your website to standard hosting. Depending on your site size, I recommend A Small Orange, as the Tiny hosting plan they have is big enough for most iWeb sites and much cheaper then shelling out $6 a month for most of the other big names, and if you check out their forum, several of the members have coupon codes in thier signatures. Also, their customer service is great and very fast in getting back to you.
To upload, I publish the iWeb site to a folder, then using Cyberduck upload it to the host. Cyberduck beats iWeb's FTP uploader because Cyberduck only replaces updated pages, instead of uploading the entire site.
I hope this helps! -
Mac blew up in a power outage, I've been purchasing movies on an itv(1st) iCloud doesn't support movies??? can I get them back?
All synced content will be lost if you re-pair your library, any content that hadn't been transferred isn't synced content (excepting for the avoidance of doubt that purchased items that have been transferred back and then synced back to the Apple TV are synced content not content that has yet to be transferred.
You cannot use your Apple TV with your new library unless you pair it with the library. -
The Online Student Center for Princeton Review to be able to take practice tests doesn't currently support firefox 3.0, it says I need to either use Internet Explorer or Firefox 1.5 or 2. I have a mac, so I do not want to install IE.
They are insane if they require you to go back to a browser from 2006-2008. That's going to expose you to major security problems. Perhaps you should demand your money back!
Do you know whether you can install two Firefox versions on Mac and only use the old one for Princeton while still using a new version for everything else? Hopefully someone can chime in on that.
You would get the old version here: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/mac/en-US/
IMPORTANT: Before installing an old version, make sure to back up your profile folder. Newer profile folders are very incompatible with old versions of Firefox and you could corrupt your bookmarks, etc. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.) -
ScienceDirect doesn't support Firefox 4.0 any ideas?
Just updated to Firefox 4.0 (English US) and now find that ScienceDirect, an Elsevier eJournal site doesn't support 4.0.
Have any others had this problem and if so is there a work-around.
I've asked the Elsevier eHelp Desk the question when they intend to support 4.0, but have yet to receive and answer.
Thanks :-)Hi,
I want to clear the misconception that this browser version does not work with ScienceDirect; in principal there should not be any missing/faulty functionality on ScienceDirect resulting from the FF upgrade.
It is true that we do not yet support this browser but that is because this browser is brand new and we have not yet incorporated it into our development process. Having said that we are confident that Firefox users should not encounter any issues with this browser when visiting ScienceDirect, if you do please report it to the ScienceDirect [http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/contactus/ helpdesk] , your feedback is very important to us, I'm sure together we can resolve most issues.
Kind regards
Fernando Alberti

This is the message I get when I attempt to open statements from my online bank:
We're sorry, but it appears as though your browser doesn't have a plug-in available to handle the document requested.
If you are using a MAC with Firefox, please try this plugin:

Update Word and/or switch to Pages.
Also what is the time machine? How do I activate it?
It is an automatic backup. It makes backups without you having to remember to do them. To turn on Time Machine, just plug in an external hard drive and say "Yes" when it asks if you want to use it with Time Machine. -
I would like to be able to use Firefox on the new account/profile I have created and don't know why my system will support it on this account/profile but not the new one.
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com -
I was prompted to download Firefox 4.0 and when I did and tried to open it I got an error message saying "You cannot open this application "Firefox" beacause it is not supported on this system. I have an older version of Mac OS X, 10.4.11, so I'm guessing that is the problem. Please direct me to where I can download an older version of Firefox that my system can support and next time please include system requirements with your update prompts.
Thank you for posting that link the-edmiester. I have already re-downloaded firefox 3.6.16 but will give tenfourfox a try. However, not to point the finger at you edmiester, my original question has still not been answered. Is it too much to ask for system requirements when I am prompted to download a new version of Firefox? I realize my computer is out of date and the longer I have it the less I'll be able to use it in this brave new internet world and I don't expect Mozilla to continually pander to me and others like me by keeping there web browsers compatible with older machines but I am fine with using older versions of Firefox. 3.6 works fine and when I saw that there was an update I thought "cool a newer version that would logically work better and faster than the one I was using" but that was clearly not the case. Like Redbeard I was forced to find an older version, re-download and re-install. Luckily I still had Safari, I shutter to think what would have happened if I had deleted it. As well, like Redbeard, this totally undermines my confidence in Firefox and I would hope that Mozilla cares enough about their users, you know the ones that create the need for their jobs, to at least address things like this in a timely respectful fashion.

I called my bank and they said that I need to use an older version. How do I do this?
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
An alternative approach is to keep Firefox 4 and install the portable version of Firefox 3.6 on your hard drive. The portable version will be totally independent of the main version and can be used when you want to access the bank site. You can get it from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable -
How do I remove Firefox 3.6 and go back to 3.5?
You can look at the portable version of Firefox.

I'm using FireFox 3.6.20.
Did that certificate get installed or did you download and saved the certificate?

How do i link firefox to my microsoft lumia 630 it keep saying doesnt support firefox
have tried several times but it says Microsoft doesn't support Firefox is this so ?
The lumia 630 uses Windows Phone 8.1
Firefox is only for desktop Windows, Mac OSX and Linux, for mobile Firefox for Android 2.3+ and the Firefox OS.
I have seen no plans from Mozilla to make Firefox for Windows Phone as it is due to some Microsoft restrictions and Mozilla is busy enough as is at moment anyways. -
I am able to receive messages on my IMac using Outlook but am unable to send. I've had no trouble in the past but began receiving the following messages today.

Authentication failed because Outlook doesn't support any of the available authentication methods.
I am able to send messages using this account on my IPhone and IPad so the IMac is the only place I am having issues. Any advice? Here are the correct settings. They have never changed since iCloud debuted a year ago.
