Icloud drive on ios .. How to make it a perfect experience ?? Here is a simple suggestion

Dear apple if you want to make the Ios a perfect experience and shut the comptitors noise about difficculty in  transfering files in and out of an ios device it is so simple now after the icloud drive is here .. Just one simple thing
create an icloud drive icon in the ios system allowing users to access files on the icloud drive in the same  way it is accessed on yosmite  or icloud.com...  it will be very user friendly and easy to use and will end the fear of ios closed source policy some people have
another option in safari called download to icloud drive would really take the ios into another level believe me nobody would not think this is perfect

Not a crime no, but a violation of the terms that you agreed to.
Send your suggestion to Apple using the method posted previously.

  • How to create new folders on iCloud Drive from iOS or with document picker?

    Recently I wanted to share several files from my iWorks suite with my colleagues. I do not want them to edit these files, instead I made templates in Numbers for easier management of hours worked. Everyone could download their copy and keep a track of their hours themselves. The problem is, not everyone has an Apple product.
    Unfortunately, iOS does not support native browsing of iCloud Drive (except the document picker, which, to me, isn't helpful at all), the only way I know of - to create a new folder - is to open iCloud.com in Safari, request the desktop site and make a new folder from there.
    Is there another way of creating new folders, preferably an official app from Apple or from within an iWorks app or the document picker that I do not know of? Or is this actually a missing feature?
    Also, if Apple could make an app similar to Microsoft OneDrive, that would be great.

    Yes, there is a way. Here is the workaround. You can add notes folders directly with your iPad or iPhone.

  • Cannot Back Up IPad to ICloud Drive in IOS 8

    I recently upgraded my IPad to IOS 8, and upgraded my phone to an IPhone 6, setting both up to share my ICloud Drive account using the same Apple ID. There is 4.2 GB of free space available for back ups. The IPhone backs up with no problem. However, for some reason, the IPad shows 0 bytes available of storage, and will not back up. I checked the settings for back up on both devices and they are the same.
    How do I fix the IPad to recognize the free available storage space and allow for back ups?

    This may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail.  To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup and choose Turn Off & Delete at the prompt.  Then go to Settings>iCloud>Backup and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
    If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

  • Browse icloud drive on ios device?

    Is there a way to browse the files and folders of my iCloud drive from my ios device, without opening a specific app like pages, or numbers?
    I am looking to browse and open PDF's mostly. I am just wondering if there is an Apple app out there that gives similar accessibility as drop-box or how the old mac file sharing system worked where you could access all you files in the directory from any device.
    It seems like the icloud drive is great for files from apple apps, but for everything else it is a bit more cumbersome to access the file directory on ios devices.
    thanks!

    Hello Woodsen,
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    The FAQ for iCloud Drive has the following information on your question:
    How do I access all my files in iCloud Drive?
    You can access your files in iCloud Drive any of these ways:
     Using any supported web browser, you can go to iCloud Drive or iWork for iCloud beta at iCloud.com. In iWork for iCloud beta, you can find your Pages, Numbers, and Keynote files.
    On your Mac with OS X Yosemite, you can go to iCloud Drive in Finder.
    On your PC with Windows 7 or later and iCloud for Windows, you can go to iCloud Drive in File Explorer.
    On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8, you can access your files from Apple apps like Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, or any apps that support iCloud Drive.

  • File App for iCloud driv on iOS

    ssuggest me an app to view files and folders like Dropbox app on iOS

    There isn't one.  On an iOS device, you access iCloud Drive files from within apps that support iCloud Drive.  See http://www.imore.com/icloud-drive-clearing-up-confusion.

  • I would like to use iCloud drive on my iPhone instead of dropbox but there is no app. Any suggestions??

    Hi -
    I would like to use iCloud drive on my iPhone and access all my files. I can do that very easily using Dropbox but I cannot find an app for iCloud Drive that works the same way. Am I overlooking something?????

    For individual Apps to access iCloud drive, the APP Developer must set that up.  If it is not an option in a specific application that you use, you should submit feedback to the App Developer to add the feature.

  • Hard drive is full, how to make iTunes span multiple hard drives?

    My mp3 drive is full. How do I tell iTunes to use multiple hard drives? It seems to only want to deal with one.

    Hi, Mister Beefy.
    All you have to do is go to the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > Advanced tab > General sub-tab and change the location of your iTunes Music folder.
    New files added to your Library will go to the new location, old files will remain in the old location.

  • 2 drives one library how to make it work?

    Is it possible to get iTunes on my ssd drive to see my iTunes library on my hard drive. Both drives are internal on my MBP and I've switched  the pref in the advanced settings. The iTunes app on my ssd when open diplays a new window and is not liked to my library on my internal hard drive.
    Thanks,
    BobM

    You can't have your mp3 on 2 different drives if you let iTunes organize your files. You can copy your itunes library file into user/music/iTunes and get your playlists etc. back. If your mp3 are on one drive set the advanced prefs accordingly and everything will work.

  • How to make custom html form buttons - here's a way to do it.

    I have been trying to create custom HTML form rollover submit/Reset buttons but could not get it going.
    There is a Javascript way but I do not know how.
    Anyway, I manage to get it working in all browsers except for IE 6. It does not hover in IE 6.
    Here is the HTML code:
    <label class="contact_form_btn">
    <input type="submit" name="submit_btn" class="contact_form_submit_btn" value="Submit form" />
    </label>
    And here is the CSS:
    .contact_form_btn, .contact_form_submit_btn {
        margin: 0;
        padding: 0;
        display: block;
        line-height: 40px;
        height: 40px;
        width: 200px;
        font-family: "Century Gothic", "Trebuchet MS", Verdana, Tahoma;
        font-size: 20px;
        color: #FFFFFF;
        font-weight: bold;
        float: left;
        background-image: url(../my_website_images/form_btn_set.jpg);
        background-repeat: repeat-x;
        background-position: bottom;
    .contact_form_btn {
        background-image: url(../my_website_images/form_btn_set.jpg);
        background-repeat: repeat-x;
        background-position: bottom;
    .contact_form_submit_btn {
        background: transparent;
        border: none;
        cursor: pointer;
        float: left;
        clear: left;
    .contact_form_btn:hover {
        background-image: url(../my_website_images/form_btn_set.jpg);
        background-repeat: repeat-x;
        background-position: top;
    It works perfectly but not in IE 6.
    In IE 6 the image does work but there is no hover effect.
    I'm using it anyway - screw it.
    But for the sake of learning and advancement  - does anybody have an idea why it will not rollover in IE 6?

    You can use an HTC to fix the hover on IE6:

    Hello,
    I read the information on the link you posted but I'm a litle confused as to how this is implemented.
    There is nothing mentioned about attaching a script to the document.
    All I read is that you add this to the body:  body {    behavior: url("csshover3.htc"); }
    And so my question is. The files that you download, where do you put them? Do you attached them to the header of the html page?
    Or do you pull them through the url that's attached in the CSS page body?
    I have contacted the author but if you know the answer, please explain further.
    Thanks again, Patrick

  • The ReFS File System Silently Deletes Folders Without Your Consent? How to Make the File or Folder Disappear with a Simple Rename Operation

    While solving issues with ReFS not deleting some nested folders when I delete its parent, I've noticed that ReFS automatically
    removes the folder without even asking you after you rename it by adding the exclamation mark to the beginning of its name.
    For example:
    In Windows Explorer press Ctrl+N to create a new folder and name it somehow, like Test
    Select this folder and hit F2, then add the ! mark at the beginning renaming the folder to !Test.
    Hit ENTER to change the name.
    Hit F5 to refresh Windows Explorer.
    Voila! The folder disappeared without your consent.
    Why is that?
    Well this is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given...

    Is that specific to Windows TP? Even a specific build?
    I could not repro on Windows 2012 R2.
    I have no unused space on my Win TP system, so could not try there.

  • How do you attach an iCloud drive file to email in iOS 8?

    I've just updated to the iOS 8 and the only feature I was looking forward to was iCloud drive actually letting me manage files properly - e.g. attach a file to an email. However, as far as I can tell, there's no way to actually do this. There's no "attachment" button in the mail app and you can't even access the iCloud drive via a quasi-finder view to copy/paste... Has Apple forgotten that people like to email attachments to each other?

    Likewise, there seems to be no way to save an attachment to iCloud Drive in iOS 8. You can send it to all kinds of other applications. Real life scenario from yesterday:
    In train with my iPad. Received pdf document from client A that I wanted to send to another client, B. But I need to do this as a reply to a mail from client B, not by forwarding the mail from client A. HA!, iCloud drive I thought, and pressed the "open in" (document with arrow pointing upwards) symbol. It will let me open in 20 different apps, but not anything related to iCloud Drive. In addition, there is no way to actually insert anything but a photo or video into a new mail. To send something else as an attachment, you will have to start in an app that handles the file type (so I could have gotten half the way by opening the PDF in PDF Expert, or another PDF program, and used the "Send by E-mail" option there - still wouldn't have allowed me to send the doc as a reply to another mail - let alone extracting the file from the mail and getting it synced back to my mac via iCloud drive).
    Had to get my Mac from my bag, connect to my phone hotspot, wait for the mailbox to sync, and do the sending from OS X Mail.

  • How to eliminate iCloud drive?

    I updated my iPhone to IOS8. When setting up the phone had a Upgrade to iCloud Drive option I choose by mistake, I though I was just updating my phone, not creating a cloud drive.
    Since anybody can easily hack Apple, I don't want to find my personal stuff somewhere on the net. I never had an iCloud Drive before, and I don't need one. So, How can I eliminate such drive?

    What to do if you accidentally upgrade to iCloud Drive
    If you accidentally upgrade to iCloud Drive, don't panic. You cannot go back to the older iCloud "Documents and Data" sync feature , but all is not lost. You have two options -- you can do without iCloud syncing, use your apps on one platform and wait until OS X Yosemite debuts. In this scenario, you could use the Clear task manager on your iPhone and not use the Mac version of the app until Yosemite is available publicly.

  • How can I come out of icloud drive and revert to icloud.co?

    How can I revert to previous configuration after mistakenly signing up to icloud drive? I have Mountain Lion and do not wish to sign up to Yosemite.

    You cannot revert to "Documents in the Cloud", you can just stop using iCloud Drive, once your iCloud account has been upgraded to iCloud Drive. There is no way back.
    From:   iCloud Drive FAQ - Apple Support
    After I upgrade to iCloud Drive, can I downgrade and go back to using Documents in the Cloud?
    No, after you upgrade to iCloud Drive, you can't go back to using Documents in the Cloud. You can turn off iCloud Drive in iOS 8 by going to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive. You can turn off iCloud Drive on your Mac by going to Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud and deselecting iCloud Drive. If you turn off iCloud Drive, your documents and data will no longer be kept up to date across all of your devices.

  • HT6312 iCloud Drive destroys collaboration with iworks for non Mac,iOS users?

    I Have been trying to create our invoices, and client records using Numbers Beta because non Mac and non iOS users can access the files from any browser. That seems to be changing with iCloud Drive requiring a Mac OS that is not yet available and no Web app for Numbers unless you have an iCloud Drive. Any other users who use Numbers for a business collaboration purpose have a solution to this problem. I have already upgraded my iCloud to iCloud Drive with iOS 8 without completiely understanding the limitation. Apple Care offered to send me their FAQs for icloud...no thanks I already checked.

    The following is from the OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 8 Release Notes:
    iCloud Drive
    Note
    Migrating to iCloud Drive will disable Documents & Data syncing for your iCloud account on OS X Mavericks and earlier Macs, as well as iOS 7 and earlier devices.
    Just don't shoot the messenger.
    You might try using Dropbox for getting those documents out to those that need them.
