ICloud email account not showing up

I've tried without success to add my icloud email account to Mail.  I can go to my ICloud account to get my mail and even get it on my IPhone 5S, but not on my IMac.  Any advice?

The iCloud account is auto created by signing into iCloud. The cox.net account will have to be created manually by you.
For your iCloud account, go to system preferences and sign out of iCloud completely. Then go to Mail's preferences, accounts tab, and see if the iCloud account is gone from accounts listed. If not, highlight the account and delete it using the "-" sign at the bottom of the window.
Quit Mail, then reopen Mail. Go back into System Preferences, click on the iCloud icon and sign back into iCloud. Be sure to check the box for Mail.
That should correct any problems you may be having with the iCloud account.

I think that happened after I assigned gmail as a default email account my icloud ( @me.com) disappeared from mailboxes. How do I get it back as a second email account?

If you go to "Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars" is the iCloud account still listed and does it have mail turned on?
If not, add it back or turn mail on, respetively.
If it is still there and has mail active, your Mail app may be looking at only the one inbox instead of the unified inbox. If so, use the left-facing arrow button in the upper left corner (bearing the name of the account) to return to the list of mailboxes and choose "All inboxes" instead of just the one.

  • Exchange email account not showing up in itunes

    Hi,
My exchange email account isn't showing up in itunes for sync with my iphone.
    Why?

I'm not sure the option is available with an Exchange account.
If your employer supports accessing your company Exchange account with an iPhone and this is set up on the Exchange Server, you can manually create the account on your iPhone.
The iPhone will try to automatically discover your Exchange server. If you don't have Exchange 2007 with Autodiscovery turned on, it will fail and warn you that it couldn't validate your account. You will have to manually enter your server name in the window. Make sure you enter your ActiveSync server name, not the OWA server (as in Entourage) or the real Exchange server (as in Outlook).

  • All mail in my inbox has disappeared and three email accounts not showing

After logging on normally mail came up with some message about tracking junk mail and creating a file called 'Delivered' and whether I wanted to see new features in mail.
I am pretty certain that I did not do anything unusual when logging in.
    What has happened?
I now have a file called 'Delivered' as well as the normal 'Sent'.
I now have no emails in 'In' and none in 'Sent', Trash' or the new file that was created automatically 'Delivered'. But I still have some but not all emails that should be there in a file to keep mail relating to a project.
What is also strange is that previously I had three email accounts + an '.mac' but now when I look in mail preferences accounts only the '.mac' shows up. The three others have gone!
    Anyone with any ideas? Help!

    Thanks.
I have now tried this. Emails imported into separate file that i had created to track one of my projects but still nothing in 'In'.
Also checking 'Preferences' the three email accounts that I had are not shown.
There are three email account files in /Users/MyuserName/Library/Mail.
    Any other ideas.
    Thanks for your help.

  • New iCloud email account not working - duplicate/ambiguous directory match error

I set myself up a new iCloud account this morning once I got iOS 5 loaded on my iPhone 3GS. I was able to create a new @me.com email address, but I think I might have stepped on someone else's existing address as when I send it email, I get a rejection immediately with "duplicate/ambiguous directory entry". iCloud email doesn't work on iCloud.com, and iCloud mail account on the iPhone tells me the user or password is incorrect.
Other than that, iOS 5 is working great so far!

Same symptoms - let's look at the "cause". I was digging in my iPhone settings and although I did everything as prompted in the iCloud setup here is what has actually happened under the hood.
First - What iCloud guided me to do.
•I had a @mac Apple ID I decided to use it for iCloud
•iCloud said I neeeded a new @me address to use mail and iMessaging and asked me to set one up
•I set up a new @me email address
    Sencond - The Results
•I can receive email at my new @me address (expected)
•I can login to iCloud online with my old Apple ID (expected)
•I can not send outgoing mail - error on password (unexpected)
Third - Under the Hood (Settings that are a little odd)
On my iPhone, under Settings -> Mail, Contacts, etc -> iCloud -> Account,
At the very bottom under "Advanced" is the email info, now this should be the new active @me address but its NOT! It's my old AppleID with the @mac address - which of course no one can use for "real email" anymore.
iCloud on my phone is attempting to use my @mac address for outgoing messages!!!! ARGH!
WORSE is you can not edit this! You can click and see details, change the "name" but you can not change the address!
I think this might be the issue for all of us on this thread - check it out and see. If so it's something we will def. have to have a fix from apple for. :-( That or perhaps delete your iCloud account, your existing Apple ID and get a new @me Apple ID that will work for email as well. (PITA!) I hope we get a fix from Apple.

  • ICloud email account not verified?

I've entered AppleID both username and password correct. It spools to verify email and then asks me to Check Email- however, NO email received ?

I managed to fix my issue by identifying that I not only had one but TWO (2) Apple ID's and I was logging in using the incorrect account that was initially linked to my Apple store.
I have since deleted additional Apple ID account and then went in and deleted iCloud account (Settings/iCloud/Delete Account). After deleting iCloud I went in AGAIN and set it up using the correct Apple ID and password)....
    Hope this helps?

  • Email Account Not Showing Up in Notes Account list

I'm using iOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone.  I have an IMAP email account that I have synced on my iPhone, iPad3 & MBP that works fine.  On both the iPhone & iPad I have turned notes on in Settings/Mail.  When I go into Settings/Notes I get an option to choose that account as the default but in the actual Notes app itself, I can't see the account at all.  BTW: On both the iPad & the MBP I can see the notes and they sync just fine.
FYI: I have 2 other IMAP accounts that work fine.
    Thanks for any help.

    OK solved it.  Look here...

  • ICloud email messages not showing up in Mac mail

I just noticed that my Mail client on mac osx lion isn't receiving emails on my @me.com account from the iCloud.
The emails are showing up fine on my iphone, but they are not appearing in Mail on my Mac.
This seems to be a new issue as I didn't notice it yesterday after moving on Wed to iCloud.
    Any ideas?

I had the same problem today and have a solution.
I deleted the iCloud account from Mail, quit Mail, reopened Mail and then set up the account again. (I noticed that it did update the grayed out [uneditable] incoming mail server.) The messages that had been available on iOS 5 appeared in Mail and all is working fine now. It took about a minute to fix and I hope this works for you.

  • ICloud email account not working with outlook 2010

How to I make iCloud and outlook 2010 work?

See the section on setting up your iCloud account in Outlook 2010 in this Apple support document.
iCloud: Set up iCloud Mail on your devices and computers
By the way, you posted this in the Apple Developer forums, when it probably should have gone in the iCloud forum.

  • I have a new email address. Changed this on my itunes account. On iPhone deleted old icloud account and created new with new email. I have set find my phone to on. When I download music it no longer goes to icloud an does not show up on my iphone.

I have a new email address. Changed this on my itunes account. On iPhone deleted old icloud account and created new with new email. I have set find my phone to on. When I download music from itunes it no longer goes to icloud an does not show up on my iphone.

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

  • I have set up an iCloud email account in my name on my iPad and wish to set one up for my husband in his name. I can't seem to find how to do this. Am I only allowed one email address? If not can someone talk me through this. Thanks

I wish to set up an alias address on my iPad. My iCloud address has already been established and I can find no way to get into my account to add any alias.

You can create up to 3 alias addresses but you have to do this on icloud.com from your computer browser.  This article explains how: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622.  Also, incoming email to an alias address will go to your current iCloud inbox so it really isn't a separate account; just a different email address for the same account.
Each iCloud account only has a single iCloud email account.  If you really want to set up another, you would need to add a secondary iCloud account by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, then entering a different Apple ID to create the account.  You can then turn on Mail to create the new account.  Mail in secondary accounts, however, is fetch email, not push (which is only supported in the primary account).

  • Can I add my icloud email account to my phone if my phone is not an iPhone?

I do not have an iphone but I have a basic smart phone, however we just bought a new Mac desktop that has the icloud email service.  I was just wondering if I could add my iCloud account to my phone without my phone being an Iphone.

You can add your iCloud email account to your phone by using these settings: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864.  While these apps aren't free, if your phone is an android, you could also look into using SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts and SmoothSync for Cloud Calendars to sync your iCloud contacts and calendars.

  • HT202667 I don't know the password to my iCloud email account. My Apple and iTunes ID is not my iCloud email address. How do I find my iCloud password? I would like to add this email address to a mail app.

I Downloaded an app that keeps all address' in one place. I went to add my iCloud email and when asked for my password, nothing I tried worked. It is obviously not the same password that I use to login to my Apple or iTunes account. How do I find out my password?

    Hi Kim,
The password for your iCloud account and your Apple ID are one in the same, as the iCloud email account is an alias for your Apple ID as well.
After you set up your @icloud.com email address, you can use it to sign in to iCloud. You can also sign in using the Apple ID you used to create your iCloud account.
iCloud: Set up an @icloud.com email address
    Cheers,
    Alex H.

  • TS3276 After updating software yesterday, noticed that sent emails are not showing up in Sent Folder for one of my accounts.

After updating software yesterday, noticed that sent emails are not showing up in Sent Folder?

Are you storing Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages on the server via your .Mac account with Mail?
If so, do you access your .Mac account with an email client on another computer or regularly access your account via webmail on another computer?
If not, any other reason you need to store Drafts and Sent messages on the server?
While composing a message with Mail, it is temporarily saved in the account's Drafts mailbox so sounds like something went wrong with the process between finishing and sending the message with Drafts and Sent being stored on the server.
If you don't have any need for this, better to store Drafts and Sent messages locally on the hard drive with Mail.
