ICloud eMail Address Deletion

I have 2 iCloud email addresses under my Apple ID, one of which is an @me.com and one @icloud.com. When setting up iCloud on my IOS devices, it is easy to select which email address I would like to use, however when creating the iCloud account in the Mail App on my Macbook Pro, it automatically selects the @me.com address.
I only want use the @icloud.com address and therefore would like to delete the @me.com address.
Could someone kindly advise me as to how I could delete the @me.com email address from my iCloud account?
I look forward to from anyone within the community who may be of some assistance with the above issue.
Thanks

It's easy.
I suppose you are using Mail as your mail application, so open it. Then, go to Mail menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Accounts, and choose your iCloud account in the sidebar. After that, you should see an "Alias" option, so press it and you will see your @icloud.com and @me.com addresses. Choose the @icloud.com email address, and you will be using this mail account on your Mac.
However, you can't remove a @me.com email address from iCloud

I need to change my iCloud email address.  I changed it for my Apple id but I can't log out of iCloud to change it there.  Find my iPad is activated so I can't delete my iCloud account.  I don't have the email address the iCloud login has anymore so I can't have the password sent there.  To sum it up, iCloud has an old email for the account log-in.  I don't remember the password for the old email.  I have Find My iPad activated so the iCloud account cannot be deleted.  And I am already logged out of iTunes & App Store.

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • How do I delete an iCloud email address that was created under my Apple ID?

I have an Apple ID that is used mostly for iTunes.  My son has an iPod Touch and wanted to create an iCloud email address to use on his iPod.  We created an iCloud email address through my Apple ID, not realizing that now, every time he sends an email, it arrives "from" my name, not his, as the address is attached to my Apple ID and therefore through my account information.  We would like to delete his iCloud email address completely so he can open his own personal Apple ID and recreate his iCloud email address through his own new Apple account.  We deleted the account from his iPod and also deleted it as a second email address on my AppleID account information.  Yet, despite all this, the email address seems to remain attached to my account.  Apple Support website and iCloud support did not give us any ideas.  Help!

    PS:
since I posted this question (above), I have read many other questions posted and it seems I am not alone.  Seems Apple will not allow people to delete an iCloud email address completely from existence!  You can delete it from devices but not from the Apple ID account.  What a disappointment, really.  In my opinion, the "user-friendly" Apple is really frustrating people who simply want to be able to manage their email addresses for various, valid reasons.  Email addresses that have been created should be allowed to be deleted by the creator!  Other email services allow this!
One idea I have that may help others in my situation:  Rather than delete my son's iCloud email address from my Apple ID account, so that his emails come from HIS name not MINE, I might try to just change the name on my AppleID account from mine to his.  He can create a new password too.  Then, in the future, if I want to recreate my own Apple ID, I will.

  • HT201342 I deleted my icloud  account but now need my original icloud email  address.  I can't remember what it is!!!

I deleted my icloud account . . . How can I retrieve my original icloud email address?  I need it to reset up my account.

Did you set up iCloud with the same Apple ID you use to post here? If another ID, do you know what that is? If so in either case, just sign in in System Preferences>iCloud to set your account up again; your email will still be there together with any messages which have arrived.

  • How to disable/deactivate/delete iCloud email address

Like most people, I have a number of different e-mail accounts for a variety of different reasons (Yahoo, GMail, iCloud/@me). I'm trying to get it down to just one, where all my personal, work, etc. e-mails can go. Ideally, I would have like to have just my iCloud e-mail (mine is an [email protected] instead of an [email protected]) but since I have found it to be impossible to have an Apple ID that is not associated with an outside e-mail address (currently a GMail account), it seems like I won't get my preference, unless anyone here knows something I don't.
Here's my dilemma. How do I deactivate my iCloud email address? I realize that I could simply stop using it, but I have contacts that I'm not necessarily in consistent contact with, so if they e-mail me, and it doesn't bounce back because the account has been deleted, they'll never know, and I'll never check. Is there anyway to delete/disable/deactivate your iCloud e-mail address so that the account cannot receive e-mails? Like when you delete a GMail account and try to send an e-mail to that address afterwords, you get the mailer-daemon response.

Your GMail ID is simply the login; you can just use your iClour email address. If Apple are using the GMail address as a contact you can enable forwarding from GMail to your iCloud address. You do have an @icloud.com address as well as an @me.com address. However you cannot make either of these your ID/login.
You cannot delete an iCloud account nor the primary address. If you want to abandon it you could set up forwarding from iCloud to whatever address you want to use. Go to http://www.icloud.com  , go to the Mail page and click the cogwheel icon at bottom left. In the first pane which opens there is a section to forward mail.

I have alternate icloud email attached to my iPad and I accidentally delete it from appleid.apple.com. And now I can't log out that iCloud account because it doesn't exist and it can't recognize my password.

It is very anoying that I can't cancel icloud email address. Can someone help me?

You can't delete either the account or the email address. If you are getting messages to it you don't want to see, go to http://icloud.com and to the Mail page: click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Rules'. Then set up a Rule to move all messages to your address to the Trash.

  • HT2623 How do I delete my icloud email address and create a new one?

How do I delete my icloud email address and create a new one?

You can't, except by creating a new iCloud account.  But you can create an @icloud.com email alias address to use that will receive email in your current inbox (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622).  (Note: alias addresses cannot later be used to create a new iCloud account, nor can they be moved to another account or be reactivated should you ever delete them.)

  • Is it possible to delete/re-create or edit/modify an existing iCloud email address?

When I created my iCloud email address I was on my iPhone.  My eyesight not being what it once was coupled with small font size, I inadvertently left out one letter.  Now, I don't see any solution for editing/modifying that email address.  I don't want to create an alias email address - just simply delete and re-create the existing @me address I established.  Is this possible to accomplish?

Only by abandoning the account (you can't actually delete it, so it will still exist) and opening another one: to do that you will need to use a different email address as the ID, and then you can set up the @me.com address you want.

  • Deletion of icloud email address

I have logged in to manage my account and deleted my icloud email address, however if I log into icloud on my desktop, I am still receiving emails. I want to cancel as it has been severely compromised. I do not want an icloud email full stop. can someone please tell me how to do this.

No, unfortunately you cannot transfer an iCloud email address from one account to another account.

  • Can I still use my iCloud email address if I delete it from my Apple ID?

My iCloud email address is listed as an alternative email address in my Apple ID. I want to make a new Apple ID with this iCloud email address as the primary email address. I want to make sure that I can retrieve my iCloud email address once I remove it from my existing Apple ID.

I would not suggest creating a new apple id with the iCloud email address if you have already made purchases with your current apple id.  The reason why is you can't merge Apple ID's so you will have to manage 2 apple id accounts with purchases on both accounts and in the end it gets very confusing and will eventually create a problem.
My suggestion is to just keep the current apple id account if you have already made purchases with it and convert that account into an iCloud account.
If you haven't made purchases with the current Apple id then don't worry about it.  You should be able to use the iCloud email address as an apple id (it should be an apple id already) even if it is an alternative email address for another apple id.
    Hope that helps.

I want to use one of my icloud email addresses as a new apple ID.  It was an additional email contact address I originally set up for my child.  But now, I'd like to set her up on Family Sharing, using that email as her ID.  Obviously, when I try to use it when setting up a new apple ID, it says the email is already being used (Yes, by ME) and I need to select a different one.  Can I somehow delete that email address in order to set up a new apple ID using it?  Or is there another way to "re-use" that address for my child's new ID?

"Well, then I want to be able to merge that one and the one my purchases are on..."
This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
    I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.
    Best wishes -
