ICloud email adress problems

Hi there. Absolute newbie here.
A weird question that I am not sure anyone will be able to help me with.
Basically my friend had an iCloud account on his MAC and we created an email address for me to use once. So he had his original @me address; [email protected] and created another one for me after. You can create 5 I think. Mine was [email protected] He has now deleted it and I want to use it for my iCloud account as I have just bought a MacBook Pro but it keeps saying the email address is already taken. We tried adding it again under his account and it will let him. Deleted it again then added it again and it worked.
He doesn't have it on his account anymore but it still won't let me use it?
Any ideas anyone?

Changing icloud email adress in icloud profile

Hi, I know there is much on this subject on this forum but i can't find an answer to this specifically.
I want to keep my original iCloud profile
Originally I created an iCloud email adress and associated it with my iCloud account as an Alternative Email Adress
Then realised my full name was available as an email address in iCloud so I wanted that email instead
I tried to create the availble email address as a secondary address in my primary iCloud account but could't find a way.
Then I simpy created a new iCloud profile creating the preferred new email address e.g. [email protected]
The new iCloud profile is empty of course, as my real profile is another account
So I figure I can merge the iCLoud profiles - is there a way?
Or I could simply associate the new address as an Alternate Email Address with my primary iCloud account
And here's the problem with suggestion in point 8!
As you can see below the new email address, which I own, is seen as someone else's email address.
How can I associate this new email address [email protected] with my primary icloud account???

I'm afraid you've boxed yourself into a corner by creating a new iCloud account with the address you wanted. That address is now permanently tied as the main address in the new account and there is nothing you can do to change it. You could have created an alias using that address in the older account, as suggested above, but now that option isn't available to you.
What you can do is to move over to using the new iCloud account, manually transferring your data to it. If you are also using the original address as the login for iTunes you will have to stick with that as purchases can't be moved from one account to another, but there's no problem about having different logins for iCloud and iTunes.

Move your curring iPhoto app to the Trash (don't empty) and then try purchasing again. If you're still having problems with the App Store you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
followed by Enter.
launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
3 - try again.

You don't need to start a new thread to continue a conversation, you can just tack onto the original one. The settings I referred you to are for the Blackberry, since that's the device which is not receiving mail: anything which is working can be left alone.

Once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account). (I've not heard that Support will change it if asked, but you can't lose anything by trying.)
However, all is not lost. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

Backup mit falscher/alter icloud email adresse

Ich wollte mein Iphone 5 einschicken da es kaput ist und habe mir von einem Freund ein Iphone 4 geliehen. Dort wollte ich nun über die icloud das Backup vom Iphone 5 drauf spielen um meine gesamten Adressen usw dort drauf zu haben. Das Problem ist nun das auf dem iPhone 4 noch die ios6 war und damit das mit dem Backup klapt musste ich die ios 7 drauf spielen mit dem Backup zsm. In diesem Backup war leider meine alte iclound email adresse gespeichert und nun kann ich sie auf dem iphone4 nicht ändern um meine neue email adresse einzugeben. Dazu muss man sagen das die alte email adresse garnicht mehr ecsistiert

You need a computer to create the account, but once created, you don't need any device to use it, except of course a computer with a browser to view emails.

hi, basically, i got a new email adress, and decided to change my apple id to that email adress. so i went onto my iphone>settings>store>AppleID>Sign out>Sign in, and signed in using the new email adress. But nowww, my icloud isnt working, and when i try editing, it wont let me edit the 'Apple ID' field. Can someone help me? THANKS!

If your Apple ID ends in @me.com or @mac.com it cannot be changed.

ICloud email sync problem on mac os x mavericks

Hi,
I have a serious problem with my iCloud email on my mac. I have been using iCloud email for few years now and I never had this problem. But I am having the problem after upgrading my iMac to latest mac os x mavericks 10.9.3 couple of months back.
The problem is, when someone sends me an email, it comes to my iCloud mail immediately with no issues. That means if I login to my iCloud mail through a web browser, I see the email there. But that email may not appear to my iMac mailbox. Occasionally some emails arrive but some not. Some emails come lately some not at all.
So the mailbox on my mac is totally unusable because I am sure not all emails are seen there, so I have to keep logging into mail through browser to check if there is a new email.
I am using me.com email address.
Any help is appreciated.

ICloud Email-Adresse als primäre Adresse

Hi zusammen,
In meiner Apple-ID ist die primäre E-Mail-Adresse eine [email protected] Adresse.
Als alternative E-Mail-Adressen habe ich in meiner Apple-ID zur zeit dieselbe [email protected] und eine [email protected] drin.
Nun möchte ich gerne meine [email protected] (welche übrigens von Apple selbst erstellt wurde) als meine primäre Adresse haben.
Geht das? Und wie?
Warum sollte ich das tun? Weil überall wo ich den Email Account einrichte, ich immer dran denken muss die EMail Adress umzustellen da er sonst die mails via me.com verschickt :-)

Du kannst die Adresse in den Einstellungen als primäre Versandadresse festlegen. Gehe hierzu einfach auf die Website icloud.com, öffne Mail, dann die Einstellungen und lege dort fest, von welcher Adresse du künftig deine Nachrichten versenden möchtest. Die Einstellung sollte nach kurzer Zeit auch auf deinem Mac durchrepliziert werden. Die Umsetllung bringt dir an sich nichts, es sei denn, dass du die feste Absicht hast von dieser neuen Adresse E-Mails zu versenden. Du kannst aber auch einen anderen E-Mail-Alias zu deiner primären Versandadresse machen, es ist wirklich völlig egal.
Für den Log-In ist es ganz egal, ob du die me.com oder icloud.com Variante wählst, hier sollten beide funktionieren. Lediglich einen Alias kannst du hierfür nicht verwenden.

Probleme beim erstellen einer iCloud eMail Adresse

Hallo!
Mein Englisch ist leider sehr sehr schlecht deswegen versuche ich es mal auf deutsch und hoffe auf Hilfe.
Ich wollte mir gern ein eine iCloud Adresse für eMails zulegen.
Das Problem ist, er sagt mein Name ist vergeben, habe viele Sachen ausprobiert da ich keine Zahl haben mag.
Beispeile:

Aus Spass habe ich sogar anderen Namen ausprobiert der auch nicht klappte.
Komischweise werden mir auch nur IMMER die selben 3 Vorschläge vorgeschlagen,
sogar wenn ich einen anderen Namen eingebe dann bekomme ich den Vorschlagnamen von den 3 davor.
Fehler im System vielleicht???
Hoffe das mir einer weiter helfen kann.

I wanted to set an iCloud address for e-mails me.
The problem is, it says my name is forgiven, have tried many things as I like to have a number.
Beispeile:

Firstname.lastname @ icloud.com
Nachname.Vorname @ icloud.com
[email protected]
[email protected]
For fun I even tried other names not worked.
Strange way to me also suggested only ALWAYS the same three proposals,
even if I enter a different name then I get the proposal names of the 3 before it.
Error in the system perhaps?

ICloud email display problems

Hi there,
Recently emails sent to my iCloud account don't appear to open in full from my mac. I have no problems on my iphone but on my mac, the body of the email appears blank. Anyone else with the same issue and if so, any way of fixing this?
