ICloud email being rejected by recipient servers

HELP!!!  I recently began using a new iCloud email address and have run across a problem when sending emails to some but not all recipients.  So far emails sent to a comcast and a craigslist address get bounced by the receiving server.  This problem is occuring on all three of my devices: macbook pro (Mavericks), iPhone (iOS7), iPad (iOS7) and when using the iCloud web site.
The two errors I have received are:
Recipient:  Comcast
Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:

I have spent hours trying to solve this one and have come up empty.  There is one work around that only works on the macbook that involves using a different outgoing smtp server (I used gmail).  However this isn't an option on the iOS devices or on the web.
Any help solving this one would be most appreciated.

Try contacting iCloud support.  This sounds like a mail server configuration issue.

  • Emails being rejected by Server

When trying to reply or even starting a new email, it rejects the email and places it in the outbox indicating "The recipient [email address] was rejected by the server because it doesn't allow relaying."
I have three different email POP accounts and it happens on all three. I have an Iphone 4S.
Any ideas oin what I can do to remedy?
    Thank you!

I ended up adding the user name and password in the outgoing server settings which showed it being optional.
I did this with all three accounts and the messahes in the outbox automatically went.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Email being rejected as spam

HP OfficeJet 6500A on a Win 7 Pro System.
I've read the other responses to people having this problem and found nothing that resolved the problem.
I've sent several emails to my printer and they were rejected as spam and deleted.
The emails contain an MS Word document that is about 13k and a jpg file that is about 15k.
The subject of the email id "Hi" or "test"
These are simple files that I am using to test how the system works and it appears that it doesn't.
Has anyone gotten this to work?
    Your help is appreciated.

Its mainly to filter out things like small adds or smilies in signatures. If they werent spam filtered and someone had say 5 of those on the signature of an email, a page would print out for each. The other thing to look out for if it is being rejected as spam is that you have no one in the CC and BCC fields. The next most common factor in spam is the message being sent to dozens of people at once, so you can only send an eprint email to the eprint address, not to others at the same time.
If it still fails after this try sending just an image, and see if that has ant effect. The next step would be possibly trying another email address, as sometimes they add things in to the signature without you knowing.

  • Why is my email being rejected by server

WHy is my ema il being rejected by the server

  • Verizon emails being rejected by Windows Live Hotmail servers

    Hi
Since yesterday, Tues. Sept. 22nd. there has been a problem sending out emails to my friend who uses q.com DSL which is Qwest. They use Windows Live hotmail servers for their email. Yesterday, I got a bounced notice from Windows Live Hotmail. This is a copy of the bounced email notice I got today.
Reason: Server rejected MAIL FROM address.
Diagnostic code: smtp;550 SC-004 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. A block has been placed against your IP address because we have received complaints concerning mail coming from that IP address. If you are not an email/network admin please contact
      Remote system: dns;mx2.hotmail.com (TCP|206.46.173.15|63065|65.55.92.136|25)
On Tues. I sent my friend 1 email which came back to me. I had been using port 25 after Verizon had a problem with port 587 a few weeks ago. I changed the port back to 587 and resent the email.and that time it went thru. Today, I sent my friend another email and it got bounced back again. I had sent it to his q.com address. I resent it again, but this time to his live.com address and I got the same bounced message back but with a different remote system since it was live.com this time. I tied a 3rd time and the same thing.
I've had problems before with Verizon and hotmail sending me back bounced notices. I went to look at the Live Hotmail Forum for problems with hotmail. I just looked now and there are like 7 pages of people who have Verizon email addresses that are getting blocked by Windows Live Hotmail servers. From what i glanced thru. it seems that Verizon email servers have been placed on Hotmail's black list. There are actually 1000''s of people complaining. Some have called up Verizon tech support to be told that this is a hotmail server problem.  From what I have gathered from glancing at those posts, there is like nothing being done about this except placing blame on each other. This is affecting both residential and business accounts. This is affecting I guess Qwest DSL service also I guess since my friend uses Qwest and I suppose if anyone knows people who use Qwest, they won't be able to email them either. This is a tremendous issue that needs to be resolved quicly. I am surprised I haven't seen any posts in this Forum about this issue. I haven't tried anyone else who has a hotmail addy since I really don't know any that check their hotmail accounts.
Can someone from Verizon please get together with Windows Live Hotmail and get this fixed ASAP.
Here is the address of Windows Live Hotmail and you can see all the people who have posted there from Verizon who are having problems. I don't know how many people this is affecting, but I want and have to be able to reach my friend by email. Please get this problem fixed. If it is a problem on Hotmail's side, please work with them to get this fixed instead of shifting blame on each other. Please someone in authority get back to me and get Verizon and Hotmail working again, actually, I guess in my case it is Qwest and Verizon which indirectly is Verizon and Hotmail. From what I can gather it's affecting just about all of Verizon... Please help  ! ! ! ! ! Thank you....

Yes, I know it says that my ip was blocked. However, on Tues. I tried sending an email to my friend that I mail every day.The first email got bounced back. I resent it and it went thru ok and he received it. On Wed. I sent him another email and it got bounced back. He has a q.com email address which uses Windows Live Hotmail servers. He also has a live. com address. Same thing happened with both addresses. On Wed. I resent that email 2 more times and it got bounced back. I waited a whle and resent it for a 4th time and didn't get a bounce back. I sent one today and no bounce back. It is a sporadic problem and apparently Hotmail did something to their servers or filters on Tues. which affected Verizon customers. Of course not all of them but a large number of them. If you check out the Windows Live Hotmail help site, you will see a notice on top of the site now saying that there  are problems with sending emails using their servers. I was able to send emails to some other people last night too without a problem. Their error codes probably don't have one that would say blocked a particular ISP. I've had this range of ips for quite some time now also. Odd, that I only saw people in mass from Verizon complaining about getting blocked and not from other isp's. You will find posts about this in DSL Reports Forum also in both the DSL section of the forum and the Fios section under the Verizon Forum. I am hoping that it might be fixed now since that 4th attempt went thru and my email went thru the first time today also. I wasn't being blocked to all hotmail accounts as far as I know. I don't even have a hotmail account since I just use Verizon account basically. As I say,  I hope it's fixed now. From what I heard about the problem is that it was the Verizon servers that send out mail that were on the black list, but I doubt that also.

  • MobileMe to iCloud email password rejected??

Iam getting really frustrated, not sure if anyone can help here with any advice.  I recently upgraded my MobileMe account to icloud I keep receiving the following error message on my Mac.  It states: "The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user".  I entered the correct password numerous times and it keeps giving the same error message.  It doesnt happen all the time, and as a result my mailbox keeps going offline.  My yahoo email works fine.  I tried to contact apple support the other day and they didn't know what the problem was.  Any advice?  I tried to look up in help the correct settings but not sure what the right settings are, such as port? etc... These are what my settings look like:
Outgoing mail is on server (SMTP): icloud (the other option is smtp.me.com) but it defaults to the icloud one
under advanced tab it is set to port 993 (but in help it mentions other ports)

Same bloody thing here.  I've gotten several different errors.  iCal invites won't sync from mail to my calendar.  My password hasn't changed, I've logged onto iCloud, no problem.  Why did't Apple just create a .cloud email addy?  On top of this, since Lion, I've seen more spinning coloured wheels and just frozen apps than I care to see.  I'm thinking all of this was shoved out the door before it was ready.  I regret the upgrade and am seriously thinking of a reinstall to SL.  Starting to think I am dealing with Windows.  Since the update to the ios, I've lost a chunk of my email.  I'm sick of these issues.  Please give me software that will allow my Mac Pro and super HS connection work for me.  Gawd.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
    [email protected]
retry time not reached for any host after a long failure period

If u r sending via your ISP email account using SMTP then try sending via web email (or visa versa). You could also try setting up an alternative SMTP in your mail application. A lot of web email accounts let u use an email client with pop/smtp settings. For example, I have 3 email accounts one of which is with my ISP the other 2 r web based one of which is yahoo. I do not use the yahoo outgoing SMTP though but rather my ISP's. Still think it is probably BT Yahoo giving grief though

  • Was is my email being rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying? Email was sent from my iPhone.

Why was my email that I sent from my iPhone rejected by the server because is does not allow relaying? The email that was sent is a yahoo.com address.

Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>your account>Outgoing mail Server SMTP>Primary Server then turn Server ON and fill in both User Name +Password under Outgoing Mail Server.

  • Reply emails being rejected by server

Wwhen responding to an email via iphone 4s i get the following message which blocks my reply "the sender address was rejected by the server"

It sounds like there is a problem with the setup of your SMTP server in your mail account on the phone. Check those settings to make sure they are consistent with what the email provider tells you. Also, include all username and passwords in the setup, as this error is generally used when you try to access a network from an outside source.

  • Adobe Send emails being rejected by optonline

Optonline.net is considering my adobe send emails as spam and not delivering them. I called optonline but they keep asking me for the email script that gets returned to me when the bounce back occurs. I do not have the bounce back script because Adobe Send does not forward these scripts back to me.
    WHAT DO I DO?

    Hi m106191
As a workaround, You can send a copy to yourself as well and then copy the link from the email and send that link through another email.
Using that link people would be able to download what you're trying to send.

  • Emails being rejected by hotmail - now BT is my IS...

    Hi guys
I've used Sky for years - and recently switched to BT Infinity - and am very happy generally.
However, I am getting emails bounced when I send to hotmail accounts - with the following error:
    [email protected]
SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<my own domain> SIZE=26764:
host mx4.hotmail.com [65.54.188.110]: 550 SC-001 Unfortunately, messages from 213.5.178.201 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors.
I have a domain registered and use that to send email.
Is the issue with BT or my domain name/host?
    Thanks

    Hi chalkstorm1
The problem is with your email provider not BT. Someone on the email server has been sending out spam and the Hotmail filters have picked up a large volume of traffic from that server and put it on a black list.
A short email to mail live explaining what has happen may help. It also might be worth looking at the hotmail help page. It happened to me last year and my hosting company had to ban the spammer and then send a report in to get the server back on the white list.

Suddenly my wife's emails are being rejected by Icloud.  Anyone know how to fix this?

    Hello Paul,
Thank you for the details of the issue your wife is experiencing with her iCloud email account.  I recommend the following steps in the section titled “If you experience issues sending or receiving mail on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch” in the following article for the issue you described:

  • I have a iphone 4s that has been repeatedly illegally accessed remotely by someone hacking into my apple id/icloud account.  How do I find this 2nd device?  I have emails being edited/deleted to apple support due to smtp/imap server configurations

I need help desperately.  i have 8 Icloud email accounts that are being re routed to about 20 additional (yahoo, aol, gmail) accounts I do not own.
I have posted the email headers of all icloud accounts on shutterfly.  Repeated attempts to send to apple are either deleted or "edited".
    1) call me and i will tell you the log in info to view.  (just put up today 4/21)  waiting for apple sr. support monday
    <Personal Information Edited By Host>

If you so readily post private personal information on the internet, like you've just done with your phone number, and are so willing to give login info to complete strangers, I'm not surprised all your iCloud email accounts were so easily hacked.
But why on earth do you have EIGHT iCloud accounts? You can't personally use them all?
You need to change the passwords on these accounts to VERY secure passwords and delete the mail settings that are re-directing your emails.

  • Apparently, my company email that I have on my ipad prevents me from manually backing up to icloud. Does this mean that icloud is being blocked entirely from my ipad?

If my company email on my ipad blocks me from manually backing up to icloud, does this mean that icloud is being blocked from my ipad completely?

I'm not sure if they can completely block iCloud if you have your own Apple ID. I assume that they just don't want their data backed up to Apple's cloud.
But the more important point in this whole discussion is would the company be honked off at you for doing something on the iPad that they do not approve of.

  • There are unauthorised emails being sent from my emails accounts. This started recently following my iOS update to 5.0.1. Is this an iCloud hacking issue?

There appears to be emails being sent out to random contacts from my shared address book with dubious content none of which were sent by me. I believe this was sent by unauthorised hacker from iCloud as the contacts are not even in my personal contact list, but came from my wife's contact list which have been shared via iCloud. Is there security breach issue with iCloud?

I have the same situation (there seems to be lots of emails sent through my Icloud account. I don't see those emails in my "sent" folder, but I can see plenty of email (Chinese spam emails) bounced back into my account stating that I have exceded the sending limits. I cannot send anything either from my account (of course, the sending limit is alwasy exceeded). I have also changed twice my password, but the issue remains.
    Any clues?
I am really surprised at this. I was from the begining with .Mac, and never had any issue during all these years. This is now with Icloud, which should be safer and better  :-(
