Icloud email change on one phone currently used by 2

my husband and I both use the same icloud account and apple id, however with these new iphone 6's it seems to cause a lot of issues and I was suppose to create a new icloud account for his phone before they switched his info over but I didn't get the chance too.  So, we currently have the same icloud account email and apple id.  I don't mind having the same apple id, however the icloud email is a different story, it seems everything is showing up on his phone from mine such as who I called etc.  is there a way that I can just change the icloud email on his phone and keep the apple id the same and leave mine the same all together?  if so, how do I do that without him losing all of his information?

He can migrate his phone to a new account but he will need a new Apple ID to create it.  He can create his new ID by going here: https://appleid.apple.com/account.  Then to migrate his phone to a new account he should go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (which only removes the account from his phone, not from iCloud; your phone won't be effected by this),  choose Keep on My iPhone and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted.  Then he can sign back in with his new Apple ID to create his new account and choose Merge to upload a copy of the iCloud data to his new account.  Once you are on separate iCloud accounts, you can each go to iCloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.  He will have to choose a new @icloud.com email account to go with his new iCloud account.
You can continue to share the same original ID for other services such as your iTunes store account if you want to.  The ID you use for iCloud does not need to be the same as the ID you use for other services.  However, to avoid getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls you should use different IDs for these services.  He should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with his new iCloud ID.  Then he should do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

  • Can I add my icloud email account to my phone if my phone is not an iPhone?

I do not have an iphone but I have a basic smart phone, however we just bought a new Mac desktop that has the icloud email service.  I was just wondering if I could add my iCloud account to my phone without my phone being an Iphone.

You can add your iCloud email account to your phone by using these settings: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864.  While these apps aren't free, if your phone is an android, you could also look into using SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts and SmoothSync for Cloud Calendars to sync your iCloud contacts and calendars.

How to get to a 2nd Free iCloud Email Accounts under one Apple ID.
I just got my iphone 5 and I setup a icloud [email protected] with the email address. I am also using this as my Apple ID now due to I could not use it in facetime or imessge without doing that. • HT201342 I would like to transfer an icloud email address from one apple id to a different apple id.  Is this possible?

How can I transfer an icloud email address from one apple id to another apple id?

It isn't possible.  If you need to use a different iCloud account with a different ID as your primary iCloud account, you can still set up your other iCloud address as a secondary account by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, signing in with your ID and turning Mail to on.  It will be fetch rather than push email, however, as push is only supported in the primary account.

  • Changing primary Email to the one which were used before but free now

I wanted to change my Apple ID primary email to the one which was once already used for another Apple ID. It's just been changed and therefore has to be free. However, I can't change to that "must be free" email now. System is saying that the address has already been verified for another Apple ID.
Those emails are all mine, if it matters.
P.S: That email is just my primary email but the current Apple ID has a lot of purchases so I wanted to have one primary email and one primary Apple ID.

    Shaz,
Did you recently upgrade to the 2.xx firmware?
The 2.xx firmware doesn't work with MediaSource. It's designed to work with Windows Media Player or the MTP version of Media Explorer. You can either go back to the .xx firmware or give up MediaSource.
Hope this was the case and I could assist!

  • I am unable to change my iCloud email address on my phone. It is changed and verified in my account. How do I change it so that my iPhone is not showing my old address? Many thanks to all in advance

I am unable to change my iCloud email address on my iphone. It is changed and verified in my account and when I log in to Cloud on my PC its fine. However when I go through the settings on my iphone (3GS) it still coming up with my now inactive old email address.
How do I change it so that my iPhone is not showing my old email address and shows my new and verified email address? Many thanks to all in advance

If you have given correct info about you ios 6.1.3 - all you need to do is delete account. You will be able to sign in with new one afterwards. Make sure you don't delete any info when you see those prompts.

  • ICloud Email Change, Nothing will work.

    Here is the issue:
I am trying to restore my iPhone to a previous backup. It will not let me because "Find My iPhone" is on. I cannot turn it off because in iCloud, it is signed in with an account that basically doesn't exist. I changed my Apple ID email to a new email, and for some reason, on iCloud, it is still my old email. I cannot do anything with iCloud because I need to sign in to my account with an email that no longer exists, which means that the password I have had forever doesn't work, because THE ACCOUNT DOESN'T EXCIST! I cannot delete the account, because to do that you need to log in, and again, the log in is with an email that doesn't exsist. I also really need to restore to a back up. I use iPhone 5.

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • HT204053 how can i move an icloud email address from one ipod to another?

    Hi
My kids have ipods and wanted icloud activated.  Foolishly I set up an icloud email account but used my son's name on my daughter's ipod.  How can I switch the icloud email account to my son's ipod?
    Thanks,

I don't really understand iCloud, but I have an Apple ID since both my kids are underage (8 and 11).  They share my Apple ID, but have different Ipods.  Can/Should I have separate iCloud emails for them?  To recap, I have 1 Apple account, but have 2 kids, a boy and a girl.  How do I have separate id's for their individual ipods using icloud when I have one Apple ID?

  • How do i get my iCloud email on my android phone?

I just traded my i phone for a galaxy note 3 because the iphone was just too little for me to use.  Everything else I have ipad, mac, etc is apple.  I miss being able to link everything together on my phone.  Is there any way I can get my icloud mail on my new device?

    Hey luv4home,
Thanks for the question. The following resource outlines the Mail settings for iCloud email accounts. You’ll need to refer to your email app's documentation for information on how to use these settings.

  • Some of my contacts are recieving FaceTime or FaceTime audio requests that I am not making but are coming from the assigned iCloud email address that I do not use for FaceTime

A few of my contacts are recieving FaceTime or FaceTime audio requests generating from my iCloud email address. Additionally some of my contacts, including my husband are recieving texts that say they are generated from me (as their contact) but I am not texting nor do I have access to that particular thread and I am not recieving all of my iMessages from another one of my contacts, but she shows that they are sent. This all seems to be related to a single issue and Im starting to freak out that my apple account or a portion of it was hacked.
A few months ago my husband, out of town, initiated a FaceTime session and someone else answered it, and hung up. He then initiated it again and this time it came through and I answered it. At that time I changed my apple ID password. But now it seems like I am having similar if not escalating issues with this. What do I do?

    iCloud Mail Server Settings.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

  • Will adding an iCloud email change my Apple ID?

    1. I have an Apple ID using a [email protected] address, not a @mac or @me email.
    2. To get push email, I need to assign a @me.com email to it. I want to do this. I have a big fear though. And that is...
    3. If I assign a new @me.com (for iCloud push) email to my existing Apple ID, will that new @me.com become the new Apple ID, replacing the current
    [email protected] ?
    4. I do NOT want my Apple ID to change to be a @me.com email. I just want to add an @me.com email so I can use push, but I do NOT want it to replace my exisitng Apple ID.
    Thx.

You can't add an existing @me.com address to an Apple ID because it already is an apple ID.
If you sign into System Preferences>iCloud with your mydomain ID you will be asked to create an @me.com address; this will become the iCloud account's email address but will not change the login ID.

  • In Mail, my preview of incoming emails changed to one line only.  How can I get the bigger view?

My view of emails has changed suddenly to only one line.  It used to be a bigger window, allowing me to read part of the body of the email, while viewing all new emails....how can I get that view back?  Is that a long header?  I try to click on long header but it is greyed out and unavailable even though I added the long header icon to my task bar.  Help??

Hello Macdaddy and thanks for your prompt response.  Unfortunately for some reason, when I go to View, from Preferences, there is no PREVIEW, nor option for desired number of lines, option there at all?  Not sure why?  Any other ideas?  Thanks SO much for your attention to this issue of mine.
