ICloud email difficulties with default font, & sending out

I have the late 2009 27" iMac, last dual core version.
No prior problems receiving or sending email.
The default font has been annoyingly small.
I went in and tried to change it a few days ago, and since then I have intermittent difficulties sending out.
Message I receive:
CANNOT SEND EMAIL (IN SOME CASES, NOT OTHERS); SUGGESTING CHECKING SMTP setting
(I'm ignorant on that).
How can I send out email consistently?
How can I change the default font setting?

Hi wonderman72,
If you are having issues sending or receiving email on your iMac you may want to use the steps detailed in this article to troubleshoot -

• Using Gmail in iPhoto and cannot find any of my groups to email. I have at least seven or eight groups that I email, each containing over 50 addresses. Is there a way to locate my email groups using iPhoto to send out mail in Gmail? Using version 9.5.1

Using Gmail in iPhoto and cannot find any of my groups to email. I have at least seven or eight groups that I email, each containing over 50 addresses. Is there a way to locate my email groups using iPhoto to send out mail in Gmail? Using version 9.5.1 (902.17) OS is Mavericks 10.9.1.

Your question and description is not very clear to me, so hopefully something here will help:
1. Gmail is a service not an app or a place. So you need to access the service with an app - that can be iPhoto, Mail, Outlook or any other mail client, or even a Web Browser like Safari or Firefox.
So you can't "go to GMail" as you write, but instead you go to an application set up to use the GMail service.
2. iPhoto is not a mail client. It's a handy way to email pics to Grandma, but for what you're doing you need to use an app that supports all of the Gmail service. iPhoto doesn't. There is no way around that.
3. How to send to groups will vary depending on what app you use to access the GMail service. All of these apps can receive photos from iPhoto, either - as in the case of Mail and Outlook, via the Share function - or, in the case of all the rest - via a Media Browser.
For help sending to Groups using any of these other apps you need to ask omn their respective forums. But the workflow is quite simple:
Using Mail or Outlook set in the iPhoto Prefereneces:
1. Select the pic(s) you want to share.
2. Choose email from the Share function
3. Make your selections re size etc
4. The email opens up in Mail or Outlook
- from there you need to figure out how to use the email client.
Using any other app:
1. In the mail app create a new email
2. Click on the Attach button or link
3. Use the Media browser to select the pic(s) you want to send
4. Attach them
- from there you need to figure out how to use the email client.

• How do I attatch several emails to one I'm sending out?

How do I attach several email to one I'm sending out?

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
If your problem is with Mozilla Thunderbird, see this forum for support.

• This morning I changed my Apple ID to my new email address. I thought it meant that I could then use all my alias icloud email addresses with my new Apple ID because it would be the same account. Why am I now not getting email to those addresses.

This morning I changed my Apple ID to my new email address. I thought it meant that I could continue to use all my alias icloud email addresses with my new Apple ID because it would be the same account. Since then I have not received and new emails to my iCloud email addresses. Normally I get at least 7 new emails a day, so I'm pretty sure my iCloud addresses are not working. It would be a lot of work for me to notify a lot of people, companies, and organizations about new email addresses, so I really would like to make them work. Will it be possible to make them work with my new Apple ID?

Roger, I didn't know that "Delete Account" was synonymous with "log out". Yes, I had deleted my iCloud account in my iPad email settings more than once yesterday and again one more time after I read your reply. I then followed the instructions below to log off on my Windows PC. I found these when I searched for how to log off of iCould:
1- Go to www.iCloud.com
2- Sign in with your current login info
3- Click on your user name on top right corner
4- Select account setting
5- Select "Advanced."
6- Click 2nd option, "Sign Out Of All Browsers."
I also scanned settings for all the other apps on my iPad and changed a couple that still had my old sbcglobal email address. Later, I noticed that I was able to see my old previous iCloud emails in iCloud.com, and the couple of messages that I received from this Support Community site, but still no new emails. Suddenly the emails started rolling in again this morning. I have 7 new ones at the moment. I sort of expected to get a backlog of emails from yesterday, but something tells me those were all lost as "undeliverable". I don't know who or exactly what did the trick, but the issue seems to be fixed. I'm using my new Apple ID, and I'm glad I don't have to get all new iCloud alias email addresses after all.

• Can I merge my iCloud email account with my mobile.me email account?

Can I merge my iCloud email account with my mobile.me email account?

Are the usernames the same - e.g. is it [email protected] and [email protected] or is it [email protected] and [email protected]?
If the former, they are the same thing, part of the same account, and deliver into the same inbox.
If they are different then either
a) One of them is an 'alias' on the same account and delivers into the same inbox, or
b) You have two separate iCloud accounts.
In the latter case you cannot move an address from one account to another; in the other cases they are already 'merged'.

• HT204053 can I have more than one iCloud email address with my account?

Wondering if I can have multiple iCloud email addresses with my apple id and account. If so, how do you set it up?

• Emails sent with normal font received in bold font; if I send to myself, same thing happens;

emails leave in standard font and sometimes return/received in bold font; this is random and does not follow a pattern; all else works fine; I use WXP on one pc and W7 on other pc

If the problem dont occur in Safe Mode check your addons, try disable one by one until the problem dont occur in normal mode:

• Replace missing fonts with default fonts

I used fonts in my document that were not downloaded to my computer. I would like to replace these fonts with the default fonts that the computer automatically substituted. Is there any way to find out what fonts were used to make these substitutions?

I realize this is an old post, but maybe it will still help.
Was looking for the same functionality in Photoshop as in InDesign, where upon selecting "Replace all Missing Fonts", there would be a dialog box allowing me to choose the fonts to replace to. Instead, it just arbitrarily selects "Myriad Pro", regardless.
My solve, as clunky as it is, worked OK if your whole document uses the same font for everything. E.g. a font across multiple slides of a presentation.
Using the newer filtering options in the Layer menu, select the "Filter for Type layers".
Select all the type layers with the yellow triangle warning.
Go to your Type menu and select the font you want to replace to.
You will be prompted for each layer to confirm the change, get ready to hit "OK" a lot of times.
Click on the "Filter for Type Layers" option again to restore your full menu list.
Should take care of the issue.
With that said, this is a feature request that is well overdue!

• Icloud email can receive but not send on PC?

With icloud emails on my iphone I can receive and send icloud emails. On my PC I can receive but not always send. When I try to send an icloud email I get this message: "This message cannot be sent at this time"
Thanks,
Frank

I ran into this problem myself while connected via WI-FI last night and it was due to port 25 being blocked by my ISP. I recommend that you set up your Yahoo! e-mail account within iPhone. Go to Settings | Mail | Add Account... Yahoo will be the top choice.
If you want to continue to use Yahoo via POP3/SMTP, then look at this link:

• My iPad receives emails but I can't send out an email or reply

My iPad receives emails but I can't reply or send out emails.i have 2 email accounts. My work & personal.my work email is the issue.i tried going in and check password but nothing helped.any suggestions

Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

• Icloud email settings with snow leopard

I have just migrated a mobile me account over to icloud on a brand new MBP, my other machines all run snow leopard so I want to set the email up on these computers as well, I have followed Roger Wilmut settings for using Icloud email with Snow Leopard but I get "The IMAP server “imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “xxxxxxxxxxx”. Can anybody help me as I have tried with 2 different macs and get the same error on both?

Ok this happened to me I migrated over my mobileme accounts to icloud on my new MBP easy, but when I went to my older machines running Snow Leopard my emails wouldn't work (password errors). The solution was to change the password on my account as Apple's new rule says that passwords need to be a least 8 characters long etc, once I change the password and re-entered my email account details my email worked straight away. Use this link to check your email settings are correct http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html
Hope this helps

• HT201342 I'm a bit confused. Is the new iCloud email address opt-in or opt-out?

Hello all
I'm a little confused. Is the iCloud opt-in or opt-out? There is nowhere in the message I recived to take any action now, but the wording implies that the email address is reserved for me, if I want it. In other words, if I do nothing, do I get the iCloud email automatically at some point "in a few weeks".
thx

ok thanks, so if I do nothing straight away, they won't free the address up and give it to someone else, correct?

• HT201342 Two icloud email accounts with same apple ID

Just got my new iphone 5 and gave my 4 to my wife. I have an apple ID and my own icloud email. How can she get an icloud email address using my apple id? No need for her to setup her own apple ID as we share the same account.

She can't. She needs to setup her own AppleID and then create an iCloud account using that.
You can still continue to share your existing AppleID for iTunes and App Store purchases.

• ICloud email rules with wildcards

If I setup a folder in my iCloud email a/c called "abc" can I have an email rule so that all email from everyone at abc.com automatically gets filed to the abc folder? The rule I would have thought would be "is from -> *.abc.com" but will that work?
Thanks
