ICloud email down?

It doesn't matter what I'm on, whether it's my iPhone or my Macbook, my iCloud email WILL NOT WORK. I need it to work as well, because finals are this week and I'm trying to get ahold of my professors about them...REALLY aggervating.

Working for me, also iCloud system status shows everything is working right now: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/.  Not sure why yours isn't working but you may want to get a free gmail account to use until you can figure it out: https://accounts.google.com/SignUp.

  • Why icloud email down?

Why is icloud email down? My wife has been unable to check her email all day. It says affecting 1.1% of users but I know 3 other people who have the same problem.Bizarre? Never seen Apple have this long of an outage on email access. Must be security breach.

Still, this is pretty poor. I've used my apple email account for business and home use since .mac and its generally been more reliable than other services I've tried, but I can't lie, this is a difficultiy for me. I was always happy to pay for a good reliable service, so I'm hoping this isn't a sign of things to come, now that they have moved to a free to use model. Needless to say, I'm not too happy with apple right now...

  • Icloud email down since friday

is anyone else having issues with their email? I am getting a password error all of a sudden on all devices (iphone, upad, mba and imac).  I changed my password and can login on to the icloud site so I know thats not the issue.  Started a chat with apple support on Sunday afternoon, who told me there was maintenance happening and that service could be down for 24-48 hours from friday and that service would be back up sunday night.  Guess what..........we are now at end of day monday and service is still down.  Is anyone else having this issue? or is it just me?

I'm been a paying mac.com customer for years.  Nice of them to convert to a free service but 'service' has gone down the tubes.
    Getting right to it:
    - Mail went bye bye on Saturday night
    - Spent 8 hours yesterday researching trying solutions
    - 6:30pm last evening got appt at Genius bar at my local Apple store
    - Full hour there (45 mins of which was on the phone with specialist after specialist)
    - Ultimately, they said it is being escalated to a super-dooper specialist and they will call me today at noon Eastern (umm... an hour ago)  NOTHING
    Would be nice if:
    a) acknowledge that they have a problem; instead it's "we never saw this problem before"
    b) system status was updated and accurate
    c) a way to get back in touch with Apple, no ticket #, no phone number nothing
[the part you can take from this] I've tried everything and CAN get onto iCloud just fine, can view calendary and phonebook just fine (in the iCloud).  The problem is obviously that their Mailserver is offline.
I work in IT and deal with DR situations, scheduling migrations, etc. constantly so understand the difficulties; If it was indeed system maintenance, notice would have been handy; if it was a failure, I would think that the service would be back by now; if this is actually a cloud, they ought to be able to bring the workload up elsewhere.
I will update this with the Apple response once resolved, hopefully it will help others but based on what I've read it will just magically start working at some point in the future.

  • Is iCloud email down today?

iCloud seems to be working, but when I try to get email I get a message that says "cannot load email." Anyone know what's up?

    Hello, johnplano.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Looking at the date and time of your post and our system status site, it does look like there was an issue with iCloud mail and has since been corrected.

  • TS3276 ICloud email down?

What's up with ICloud mail?   Has anyone received an answer from Apple?

I'm on Mountain Lion. I've already tried Snow Leopard as well as Lion (my MacBook Pro orginally came with Snow Leopard, upgraded to Lion when it was released.) The problem with iCloud is only the email part. I can access the iCloud website/Find My iPhone/etc. on the website as well as all my devices. The only problem lies with the email. I get the spinning then "Cannot Load Mail" on the iCloud site/Email portion, and on iPhone "Username/Password may be incorrect," but everything is correct.
I've read A LOT of people having the same problem, but theirs seem to get resolved within several days. It's been over 2 weeks for mine.

  • Icloud email down - when will it be back so i can migrate off it ?

two days now ..what a joke ..

Try both actions in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Windows 8], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-vista Windows Vista], [http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true" Windows XP], [http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564 OSX]
; If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

Have you tried signing out of iCloud in System Preferences and then back in?

  • My iCloud email is down for over 36 hours now.

My iCloud email is down for over 36 hours now. This is a huge disappointment for me. I'm a Apple user for over 20 years now and through the years I forgave Apple the (small) mistakes they have made through the years, but this is completely unacceptable. I've read that Apple is hiding behind the terms of use which is crazy. We users expect a certain level of quality and stability, apart from any terms of use (or is this a typical European thing??). Apparently  they don't care, they take all the time to fix this problem (over 36 hours??, I feel like not being taken seriously).

  • ICloud email has been down since 6:10pm

No iCloud email since 6:10pm September 10th.
If I set up an auto response to use my alternate email or forward mac mail to another address
will this help until they work it out?
Definitely unhappy I'm paying Apple for premium experience and getting no answers from support.
Hoping they figure it out today.  This is now affecting my income.

I've noticed this as well since about 10:30 EST.  I used to have emails forwarding from another address and when I switched that off the other address is receiving emails instantly so it's definitely a problem on Apple's end.  It's good to see that at least one other person is reporting the problem here, but it would be even better if Apple would update the status page.  I can be very patient if I know it's a known issue for them, but hate seeing that all is up and running normally from their point of view when it isn't.

  • My Icloud email is down. This is unacceptable, please remedy ASAP

My iCloud email is unaccessable on all devices. I am awaiting important emails and not being able to access my mail is completely unacceptable. My confidence in this product has been shaken to the point where I will now consider moving my primary email address to gmail or hotmail.
    Please remedy this issue ASAP.
    Regards.

  • IPad2 and a new MacBook running Lion, Both Devices use the same Apple ID which is a Hotmail eMail id. Can I create a new iCloud eMail Id and use iCloud eMail and continue to use my Hotmail Id for my Apple Id and use it for iTunes, iCloud

I have an iPad2 and a new MacBook running Mountain Lion. Both Devices use the same Apple ID which is a Hotmail eMail id. Can I create a new iCloud eMail Id and use iCloud eMail and continue to use my current Hotmail Id for my Apple Id for iTunes, iCloud.
Note, I will use both Hotmail and iCloud eMail.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

  • I forgot my icloud email password. I use a different email account for my AppleID.  How can i reset my Icloud email password?

I need to reset my password for my iCloud email. I forgot the password because I made it about a year ago and forgot to write it down. I used my iCloud email which it *****n****[email protected] for many of my social media accounts. I have recently found out that if I want to reset my password for a social media account, that it will not go to my imessage. I have not yet set up *****n****[email protected] on the mail app, which is what I am assuming you have to have if you want social networks to email you on your mobile phone. I can not set up *****n****[email protected] on the mail app though, because I do not know the password. I also have a separate email for my AppleID account, and yes. I have reset the password for my applied account, to see if it would also reset my icloud email address password. Thank you, and I am sorry this was confusing.

Applied.apple.com manage apple I'd. Input apple I'd. Send email authentication(and email should send to your rescue account) or authentication with security questions.... does not resolve your issue?

  • IPad 2 keeps crashing for new icloud email setup

My iPad 2 16g.. At first it was safari if I scrolled on a website for a little bit. Now it's my icloud email set up.
I went to create a new icloud email, it got me to almost the full set up and then it randomly just closed. I did it again and I had to start from the very beginning.
I have reset my iPad a couple of times. I have deleted apps I'm not using, I have a total of 3 movies and 2 CDs. That's all. I have deleted most of my pictures so that I have more memory. I can't figure out how to delete all the iMessages that it says are saved. I delete them in the iMessage app. No matter how low I bring my memory down it still crashes. It has done it in a few apps that I downloaded. I really need a new email!! I don't have a. Computer so I can't ever back anything up, but I don't really use this for anything that important besides games and information apps, oh and movies.
Any help and advice would be very appreciated

Standard troubleshooting steps in order are as follows:
Power your iPad off and on.
An iPad reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release. This is similar to a computer restart.
Restore your iPad with iTunes from your iPad's backup.
Restore your iPad with iTunes as a new iPad or not from the backup.
If no change after the last step, your iPad has a hardware problem. The iPad includes a one year warranty.

  • How do I change my iCloud email account

Can you share an icloud account with another iphone user?  Both my husband and myself share the same itunes acocunt and so when I set up icloud I just shared this too and intially it worked ok.  However, we changed email address and I cannot get it to change on my husbands phone!  we have just upgraded to an iphone 5S and its still showing the old email account.  I have managed to changed the apple ID, so can't understand why I can't change his icloud settings.  Which is why I am wondering if he needs to have his own Apple ID and icloud account?  Thanks.

Unless you have a specific reason to share an account for iCloud, you are generally better using seperate ID's. This doesn't stop you using a shared ID for iTunes so that you can continue to use your shared content.
However, there is also no reason you shouldn't be able to update your ID details on your husbands phone if you do decide to share an ID for iCloud.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.
