Icloud email name

any way to remove my cloud subscriber name off of all my out going email? why did apple do this?

When composing an email, be sure the "from" is another address, not the .me/.mac account.  In mail settings, in mail app preferences, go to "Composing" and review "send messages from" to see which email account(s) is used when sending an email.

  • ICloud email name change. Help please

Is there anyway I can change an iCloud email address? Can I make another iCloud email address? I was setting up a new MacBook Pro for a gift to my nephew and I left out a letter in his last name. I need to delete this one or somehow add another. Any solutions for my dumb ***?

You can create an alias (3 actually) and use that instead.

  • ICloud email name not being changed

Every time I send an email from my computer or iCloud.com it goes out with my old name in the "from" box. I updated my name associated with my apple id a couple years ago but iCloud has never made the change and it is becoming a bother. Any suggestions?

Mail Preferences > Accounts, select the account then the Account Information tab and change the alias to whatever you want to use.

  • HT201342 Can I change my assigned iCloud email name?

I'd like to change my name in front of both @me.com and @icloud.com.

You can't. The email given, is the same as the one you chose when originally setting up the account.
If you want a completely different @iCloud.com email address you will either have to set up a completely new account under a different Apple ID, or set up an email alias: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a

  • ICloud email name change

I got an email from Apple that I could get a new email address that ends in @icloud.com.  I already have an email that ends in @me.com.  Can I have both or do I have to choose one of the other?

You don't need to sign up for anything. You already have an iCloud account. You are being given an extra email address ending in @icloud.com that works with your existing iCloud account.
Emails sent to <[email protected]> and now, <[email protected]> all come into your existing iCloud account mailbox.
You are not losing anything, just gaining an optional, additional email address in your existing account.

  • HT4436 I have an error in my iCloud email URL. Can I correct the error?

Hi Apple family can I change my iCloud email name?

You can't change and iCloud email address, but you can create and use an email alias with the name you want and email sent to the alias address will arrive at your current iCloud email inbox.  To do this, see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622.

About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone.  Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc.  This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

hello guys ...i need any help or suggestions, how can i change my icloud email address?? i typed a w rong name by mistake?? can i change it and retype the correct one? thanks ...your suggestio is higly appreciated.

That's definitely not supposed to happen.  You shouldn't have someone else's iCloud email linked to your ID.
You'll have to get iCloud support to sort this one out.  The only way to contact them is to start here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/.  You'll have to provide your iPhone serial number.  Unless it's within the 90 day free support window, or you purchased AppleCare, there will be a charge.  I suppose you can plead your case when they answer that you shouldn't be charged as you didn't set up this address and it shouldn't have happened with your ID.

  • How to change the name or have no name for an iCloud email alias

I had MobileMe on the iPhone with alias email addresses and I liked how it didn’t attach any “name” to an alias. For example, I had MainUserName, then for aliases I would have [email protected], [email protected], etc. When I sent an email from my iPhone using one of the aliases as the "from" no name would be associated with the alias email address. If it was the MainUserName then it would associate it, e.g. Main User <[email protected]> will show up on the "From" field when I sent an email. But with iCloud on the iPhone (and iPad), it’s Main User <[email protected]>, Main User <[email protected], etc., which I don’t want.  If anything it should be Alias 1 <[email protected]> or Alias 2 <[email protected]>.  Anyway, I don't want any name associated with the aliases, so when I send an email it will simply say [email protected] or just [email protected] with no name association.
It works differently if I access iCloud through a web browser.  If I send an email via iCloud on the web, I can customize and have a different name with each alias, e.g., Tom <[email protected]> or Harry <[email protected]>  And the customization carries over to the Mail app on my Mac.  That would be ideal if the customization carried over to the iPhone and iPad, but I'd be happy if there was no name association with alias email addresses.  Hopefully, there's a solution to the iPhone/iPad situation with iCloud as I don't want the name linked with the main iCloud email address linked with all the different email aliases I have.

Can I change the name associated with an ipod on my Mac?
Select the iPod in the iTunes source list, click on its name, and type a new name.
And can there be more than one iPod on one computer?
    Yes.

  • TS4020 Can I change my iCloud email address name without creating a new account?

CCan I change my iCloud email address name without creating a new account?

Once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account).
However, all is not lost. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account.

  • Email name restrictions for icloud

What are the name restrictions for creating a new name for an iCloud email account.  Can one use some of the keyboard symbols like * # & % ! -  $ __ (   ) or are you restricted to using the alphabet and numbers?

    Hello Tuffy Wuffy,
This can be done by removing the iCloud account, then readding it.
On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.

  • When I got my new iphone 4,  I gave my wife my old iphone. She has her own Apple Id but the icloud on her phone is in my email name account. If I delete it to create her own icloud account, will I loose my stuff on my icloud account?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
When you delete the old account from the phone, the data is only deleted from that device, it is not deleted from the cloud. As such you will not lose the data off your phone either.

  • HT201342 My iTunes account is under my @yahoo email address and I became accustomed to my @Me email and now like the idea of the @iCloud email address that was made. My question is can I change my iTunes account to my @iCloud name without losing my purcha

My iTunes account is under my @yahoo email address and I became accustomed to my @Me email and now like the idea of the @iCloud email address that was made. My questions are....can I change my iTunes account to my @iCloud name without instead of my @yahoo name without losing my years snd years of purchases ? Can I also create an @Mac address ? ....or is my @yahoo and my @iCloud already recognized as the same by apple and my purchases would already be fine as well as restoring my devices ?

Your purchases are permanently tied to the Apple ID (account) used to purchase them.  They can't be moved to another account and you can merge accounts.  You can start making new purchases with your iCloud ID if you want, but you will end up with two sets of purchases under two different IDs, adding further complication to your life.
Also, your @icloud email address is an alias of your existing @me address; emails sent to either address will be routed to the same inbox.  You can decide which one you want to use as your default (as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5441) but you can't separate them.
