ICloud email size of photo?

Using Mail online when attaching a photo there does not seem to be a way of choosing the size
small, medium, large etc
Is that right?

No most jpeg file you save will be much  smaller then 10MBytes.  The exception would be if you stitch a lot of images together and create giant giga Pixel images. Your image is only 10Mega Pixel.   Using a high quality jpeg setting like 10 will produce a file size well under 10Meda Bytes. Jpeg uses data compression.  Look at my files I shoot with a Cannon 1d mark 4, Its a 16Mega Pixel camera. I shoot RAW and my RAW file sizes are in a range of 30MB down to 18MB cannon uses a loss less compression in its RAW files. When I process these raw files in Photoshop the PSD files I save range from 500Mega Bytes to 30 Meg bytes in Size.  PSD files are Layered files Jpeg does nor support layers so If I open one of me 300 Meg Byte PSD file the Image is still a 16 Megs Pixel image. When I save a Jpeg image from the document Photoshop is editing from my 300 Meg Byte PSD File at quality 10. The largest Jpeg file I see for not stitched images are smaller the 7Mega Bytes.  When you save Jpeg images they should all be smaller then 10Mega Bytes unless you interpolate you images why up in Pixel size.   I have had an image printed on canvas for me.  The Canvas size was something like 6' by 8'.  When image are printed that large they do not need to be printed at a 300doi resolution.  I interpolated my image up in size to print at 100DPI  6x12x100=7200 Pixels by 8x12x12=9600 that made the image pixel size 7200x9600=69,120,000pixels. Near 70Mega Pixel. I just open a new document that size rendered clouds sharpened and save a jpeg image quality 10 is save at 7.5MB in size.

  • I suddenly cannot email photos from iphoto. I get a box that says "server does not recognize username or password". I now have to use regular email and cannot re-size my photos.

Suddenly I can no longer email photos directly via iphoto mail.  The box comes up that says "server does not recognize username or password".  I used to be able to re-size my photos before sending so that they jpeg or pixels were larger for publishing in newspapers or magazines, but I can no longer do that.  Apple tech support told me to change my iphoto "preferences" to using regular email to send.  But that does not allow me to re-size.  Is anyone else having this problem?  I don't know if there was an update that caused this or what?  Please help.

The box comes up that says "server does not recognize username or password".
That error message usually will pop up, when there is a conflict between the "From" setting for the mail account you are sending from and the selected outgoing mail server. Probably the outgoing Mail server is receiving a user name and password it does not understand. When the mail returns unsent, do you see the "Try again" panel with the option to select a different outgoing mail server?
If you do not see this panel, change the Mail "Preferences > General" to "If Outgoing server is unavailable: Show a list of alternate servers". This way, you will know, which server Mail is trying to send from.
Have you tried to set "From"  pop-up menu to one of your other email addresses?  If that works, change your settings in Mail to always send from this address. You can set this option in the Mail "Preferences > Composing: Send New Messages from". I have my "Send New Messages from" set to "iCloud". That is working best for me with iPhoto.

  • HT1688 I've created a sharing album on Photo Stream. I've entered my husbands icloud email address so that I can share it with him but he is not receiving the invitations. Can you please let me know if I am doing something wrong?

I've created an album on Photo Stream and I've added my husbands icloud email address (subscribers) as well as mine (just to test it out) and invitations say that they have been sent but no emails are generated or received. I have checked my emails spam folder just in case but nothing has been received. Please help!

This does not answer my question. I'm doing everything correctly but no email is generating that asks the "subscriber" to be invited to see my album.

  • Adjusting size of photo prior to emailing it

Whenever I send an email with a photo attached (from iPhoto) it is huge.  I've checked Help and can't find anthing referring to how to resize a photo prior to attaching to an email.  CH

To send pic via Comcast email:
Per RatVega: use Preview to change size of photo
Preview > Tools > Adjust size
Change size by changing height & width > check Resulting Size box
at bottom of box. Adjust numbers to make file the size you want.
Save As...Name & put file where it's easy to find, such as on Desktop
    Go to Comcast mail
Click New > Set up new email.
Click Attach at top of email window > Attach File window opens
Click on Choose File > Finder window opens
Click on the pic file you set up in Preview > Click Choose button
This takes you back to the Comcast Attach File window.
Check that your files there, to the right of the Choose File button
Click Attach at bottom of window
Wait a couple seconds > email will open with file attached.
This isn't quite as tedious as it looks. It does get the pic sized & in Comcast.
    Good luck.

  • HT201342 what is the max size of attachment that possible to send with icloud email?

what is the max size of attachment that possible to send with icloud email?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
There isn't an attachment size limit as such, the limit applies to the entire message including all attachments, which is 20 MB.
if you are using a mail application to send emails (ie not via a web browser) you may be subject to smaller limits imposed by your own ISP.

Hi Frank: After you have selected the photo for the email and started to compose the email, check on the right  side of the window. There it will show the image file size, tap there and it will give you options for the photo size. Hope this helps.

  • Can you send an email with multiple photos from iPhoto in reduced size?

I want to send an email with multiple photos attached with a reduced size. How do I accomplish this?

    Hi Igmatteson,
If you are using regular Mac Mail, and you are on Mountain Lion, this is what I can do:
    1. Go into Mail, and start a new message
    2. At the top, you will see 4 icons - the third one over brings up the Photo Browser from iPhoto
    3. Go through your pics and select the one you want and drag it onto the mail page
    4. Once you have done that, a small bar on the right-hand side will show up that will allow you to select whether you want the image size to be small, medium, or large. Once you select a size, all photos you add will be that same size.
    Hope this works for you!
    Cheers,

  • ICloud email - Message Size Violation

Emails are rejected by the iCloud email server, apparently for the following reason: "5.7.0 Message Size Violation", however this happens at random, irrespective of the actual message size.

Seems to me that I'm getting same error when I'm sending a zipped file containing many folders and files inside...
    It's only 2.8MB .ZIP.
No problems if I send an even bigger jpeg image.
    Weird.

  • Friends on Android galaxy do not receive my emails with attached photos sent from my iPhone.  Why

I have an iPhone 4 running 6.1 OS.  Several times I have taken photos with my iPhone and then tried to email them from my iPhone to friends using Android Galaxy.  They never receive the emails. When I select the photo to be emailed from "Camera Roll", several options appear  (Mail, Message, Photo Stream, Twitter, Facebook etc).  I select "Mail", then select an email address from my contact list, add some text to the message, select the size of photo and send.  The email with attached photo is never received.  Any idea why?

Well, your response about MMS is beyond my understanding unfortunately.   Don't understand too well this issue of MMS and IMessage. I checked my settings and "Send as MMS" was OFF.  I have turned it ON and tried to re-send the photos.  No word yet if it was received..  Also, the "send and receive" addresses in the "Messages" setting only included my "@me" email address, and not my Yahoo address, which I am trying to add.  It doesn't seem to be able to complete the verification process for that Yahoo address (it remains in a perpetual state of "verifying"), although it did add an "icloud" address, and my cell phone number.   I have my "cellular data" turned OFF because I am in the States (I am Canadaian) and wish to restrict roaming charges.  So are you saying that I cannot send photo attachments in emails from my iPhone, while connected to the in-house internet modem/router - ie., that I can do so only if my "cellular data" setting is ON?  Then why do the messages still appear in the SENT folder?  Do the settings on the recipient phone have an impact?  It doesn't seem so because they were able to receive the messages from the PC/Hotmail source.

  • How to set up 2 people to share an iPad, for iCloud email and contacts

A family of two, each with their own MacBook, own iPhones, but sharing one iPad on trips, all with latest OS. Currently using Apple Mail with links to separate gmail accounts and all is working as we prefer.  But want to switch to icloud email accounts.  Want separate email to continue on MacBooks and iPhones, but to display both individual email addresses on iPad. Can't figure out how to have two iCloud email accounts display in Mail without commingling in the inbox.  Family Share does not seem to support this, nor sharing of Contacts.  If the only way is to have person #2 get a separate Apple ID then contacts would not be shared which is messy to keep current, and then how would the iPad handle two ID's?

It's always best to have seperate IDs.
YOu can enter a secondary account at settings > mail, contacts and calendars and select which services you want switched on. Note some services, such as photos and document syncing are only available to the primary account.

  • Can I move my iCloud email address to a new Apple ID?

    Hi,
My wife and I have just recently bought iPhones. I've had an iMac for years and an iPad for a couple of years now, so we now have the multiple users/devices issue, or conundrum if you like.
I had an iTunes account since I've had my iMac so all purchases are made on that, so we want to be able to share that account for that purpose. I never did setup another Apple ID for myself though, so I've actually been using email on that main account.
My wife now has her own Apple ID as she has her own contacts and calendars, etc, but we do share some info.
So, now I need a better way of doing this and I think I know what to do; setup my own Apple ID/iCloud so we both then have our own personal accounts and then use the main iTunes account for purchases.
    However, I have some questions;
I'd like to keep the old email address. Can I transfer that over to my new, personal Apple ID and use it for my iCloud email? *really want to know about this*
Contacts and calendars; I guess they can be exported and imported into the new account, yes? I know calendars can be shared so if we need to we can do that, but how do you share a group of contacts? If we maintain, on the main account, a group of shared contacts that will work fine; we can both access them and edit them, but how do we add new contacts to that group from our iPhones? I believe you can't add a contact to a group on the iPhone? Is there a workaround for that?
Or is there a better way that I'm missing?
    Thanking you in advance
    Lee

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
You can't transfer your iCloud email account to another ID.  You could create a new iCloud account and still add your existing iCloud account as a secondary account on your phone (in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud) but the email on that account would be restricted to fetch.  (Push email is only supported in the primary account).  If you want to maintain your curent iCloud email account as push, you might want to keep the current iCloud account for yourself and just set up a new iCloud account for your wife.
I'm slightly confused. My current email address is currently tied to my main iTunes Apple ID. I was going to setup a new iCloud account (that's the same as an Apple ID isn't it?) and use that for my mail. I can't use my current one as a secondary cos photo stream won't then be available.

  • HT204150 iphone4s contacts wont back up to icloud my settings are on and in icloud i cant open photos?

iphone4s contacts wont back up to icloud and  my settings are on and also when in icloud i cant open photos?

Did you ever verify the primary email address associated with her iCloud ID?  Apple should have sent a verification email like the one below to the email address that was used to set up the iCloud account.  You need to click the Verify Now link in the email to verify the address.
Make sure you are check the email address you used to set up your iCloud account.  Also make sure you check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox.  If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

  • How can I change my icloud email details and password on icloud

how can I change my icloud email details and password on my iphone 5s tried all day without success, I have changed my apple ID and password thats okay.
    Joan

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
