Icloud email (using outlook)

i downloaded icloud and it put my icloud email into outlook. All was fine until about 2 weeks ago, when i noticed that i could not send, but receive emails. I am not sure how to fix it. the server times out.

HT4865 Does iCloud email use 1024 bit or 2048 SSL encryption?

In Security Now! Podcast #441, http://twit.tv/show/security-now/411 they discuss the need for SSL encryption to move to 2048 bit to be more secure. What level of encryption is iCloud email using?

Sorry I didn't make my question specific enough. I'm referring to the encryption used in the browser while using the mail app on iCloud. I believe gmail currently uses 1024 SSL but will be changing to 2048 in several months. The reason being that a 1024 bit key can theoretically be broken my dedicated hardware (costing millions of dollars, I might add) in around one year. Listen to the link above for more details. This takes an extreme effort to crack, but given that it is possible I wanted to know what Apple does.

Receiving email using outlook

I am having trouble in receiving emails using outlook. I only some on my ipad but receive them on my PC!
Can anyone help?

We worked with Microsoft on this issue and updating our DirSync set-up solved the issue.
We are running a hybrid setup with Exchange 2010 locally talking to O365. We had set this up as a fairly standard Sync but did not enable hybrid when we set it up as it didn't seem warranted based upon our needs.
Our set up had been running fine for over a year and suddenly this issue cropped up. The MS engineers determined that Outlook would talk with our exchange and since we didn't have the Hybrid Sync happening, for some reason it wasn't passing on the Cloud
Exchange address when the mailbox wasn't found on the local Exchange 2010 server.
Nothing was explained as to why only accounts with Resource Account ownership were experiencing this issue, but updating our DirSync server and setting it to Hybrid did solve the issue. Curiosity is less important than my time so I'm moving on...

Receiving multiple duplicate emails using Outlook 2010

I am receiving multiple duplicate emails using Outlook 2010. The email receiving, can go up to few hundreds copies. Not
all emails i receive will be duplicated. There is no common sender for those affected emails. Usually when i received email from my Outlook 2010 the email in Outlook Web Access will be gone. But this time round for those affected duplicating emails, it still
can be found in the Outlook Wed Access. Any solution for this problem? Currently
I would need to go into the Outlook Web Access to delete the affected email then the duplication will be stop. Or I would need to cancel the Send/Receive & restart Outlook. But this 2 method is only temporary solution. The problem will keep coming
back.

I think you are working with a POP3 account and issue of replicated emails in Outlook is common in the case of POP3 connection. So, first of all uncheck the
“Leave a copy of messages on the server” option and see the results.
Also, see the TasK Manager, if there are multiple “Outlook.exe” are running under the
“Processes” tab, then end the unnecessary programs as each of them downloading the same email multiple times.
Apart from it, if there are numbers of factors behind the replication of emails in Microsoft Outlook such as:
Rules (Exploiated Rules)
Scanning Programs Integration
Damaged Outlook Profile

ICloud emails through Outlook 2010 on PC

Hi All, I still cannot get iCloud working in Outlook 2010. I am only interested in emails, and need to send and receive through my iCloud account while on the PC.
I have followed every bit of advice in these messages, downloaded iCloud for PC, using Ports 993, 587, enable SSL, etc. Nothing works. HELP!?!?

OK< I got it. For some reason, although I can still run the icloud control panel, when I looked in the programs list in control panel, the icloud was not in the list (lost registry?). But I found a program called 'Apple Software Update'. I ran that and it first told me there was an updated itune version and more importantly, it said there is a new software "icloud control panel version 2,1,1,'. It is the same as I was running it but obviously it was not found or the version I have was corrupt. So I clicked the box to download the 'icloud control panel' and allowed it to update to the new version of itunes as well (although I don't think it was needed). Then I restarted the icloud control panel (after having to restart the computer), unchecked the 'mail, contacts, calendars & tasks with Outlook', hit Apply button, then checked it again and hit apply again. Voila! icloud set up the add ins again in my outlook and all was well after that.

This what I set our 2003 at least a dozen times, nothing what so ever changes, unless I use these entries we can not get a TEST of the account to run through to the end.
However with that we now always get the error 0x800ccc7d every day now for the first few emails.
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.verizon.net
IncomingServerPort Numbers: 995
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net
Outgoing ServerPort Numbers: 465 Your Verizon Online user name
Your Verizon Online password
Make sure "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" is checked.

Apple ID isn't same as iCloud email address - Outlook setup

My Apple ID is a comcast.net email address. How do I get my iCloud (me.com) email set up in Outlook 2007? I've tried setting it up manually using both my Apple ID and my iCloud email address, and both have failed to authorize.

ICloud Email in Outlook 2011 w/ Two Step Verification

I have two step verification setup on my iCloud account. I want to use my iCloud.com email with Outlook 2011 on my Mac. It doesn't seem to be working though because of the two step verification. How can I do this?
I'm not using the Mail App, please do not tell me to use Mail.

ICloud account using Outlook 2010

I'm using Outlook 2010 client, I can see my iCloud inbox, calendar, etc. however, I'm unableto reply to messages or send new messages using Outlook. I do not see an Outbox listed for my iCloud account. I get a message that I cannot add a file to this folder when trying to reply or a message this service doesn't support this actionn when trying to compose and send a new email. I'm running Windows 8.

I have I cloud 2.0.2.187 loaded just downloaded yesterday.

Configuring iCloud email with Outlook 2010 and Gmail

Hello All,
I have created a new iCloud email (@me.com) and I want to know how I can use it NOT only on my iPhone and iPad but also on my outlook 2010 and on my Gmail account.
I use Outlook 2010 in my office and home, I use Gmail when I am on the go. My Gmail is also configured in my Outlook so basically I have all my accounts on Gmail and I just use Outlook's interface.
I want my iCloud to be on it as well. Obviously I want it to be and IMAP type of configuration so I can see all the emails on my iPhone, iPad, Outlook 2010 and Gmail!!!!
Can you please tell me where I can find relevant information on those configuration?

I can't send icloud email by following "Set up iCloud mail on your devices" , on both MS Outlook 2007 and 2010. I can receive, but... What's wrong?

smtp.mail.me.com should work but someone reported he was able to get it to work using p99-smtp.mail.me.com - I've no idea whether it might work for you. The 'p' numbers are added to the server addresses by Apple and seem to be on a geographical basis (so that you don't get the whole world using the same server). Normally you shouldn't have to add them yourself, and this well may not be the right number anyway, but you could give it a try. No promises.
