ICloud email won't update on my phone

My iCloud account on my iPhone keeps using my old email (I updated my apple ID) , I can't delete the account from my phone because it requires a password but there isn't one for that email anymore. Its driving me crazy because I cant update anything propery because it keeps asking for the password for a nonexistent account, then says my login is incorrect. All my other devices work fine and the apple id on my phone is correct.  Seems to be a glitch I cant get around!

Delete ICloud Account then log back in put in the correct Apple ID & Password
If that will not work go to APPLEID HELP Apple.com

    iCloud email won't work after upgrade to Mountain Lion.  Says pop 3 server is timing out. Solutions?

    I'm sorry, as I keep saying... in MAIL I get the message that it cannot cannot to server!? Did you read the initial problem at all! I know exactly where mail is, although, the diagram was wonderful.
    My problem is TWO FOLD.
    The MAIL app doesn't work with iCloud but does work with my POP3 email for my office.
    Second problem is the iCloud on Safari doesn't work as I get the error message as the screenshot above.
    There is NO reason why the @me.com email shouldn't work through the iCloud site, as you can see, there is a also a Mail icon.

    You need to verify your settings with Yahoo. The error that you identify for the phone is for the incoming server, which shows you are not connecting to the server, for whatever reason.
    The iPad error just seems like the account is just not verifying with Yahoo at all. I would check with Yahoo and see if there is a problem with your account.

    After updating my OS to Maverick I no longer can get my icloud email to work.  Do I need to change the address to [email protected]?

    Try going to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Mail, restart your Mac, then go back and check Mail again.

    Early this morning three of the four accounts started working again.  I tried deleting the one account that wasn't working eariled and adding it back in but nothing. 
    I just tried shutting off all four accounts without deleting them and restarted the iPad.  after it was up and running I reactivated the four accounts and everythings working.  Hope it stays working!!!

    I'm using the latest version of Mountain Lion. I recently tried to see if I could switch from using my MobileMe email address in OS X Mail to using my iCloud email address. iCloud seems to work on my iPad and iPhone... but everytime I try from Mail, the messages won't send. I click send and they just come back to me after a while, asking me to pick a different outbound server. Interestingly, the messages WILL send when I try to send via my MobileMe account.
    Should I be using some sort of different server setting for the iCloud email?

    There is no MobileMe anymore, you may have labelling problems.
    In iCloud control panel deactivate Mail, then if you are still signed into Mobile Me, sign out.
    Reactivate Mail in the control panel.

    Same here. I began getting the "cannot get mail ... Incorrect password" alert on both my iPhone 4s and iPad (3) about two days ago. Oddly, it will retrieve mail at random times, though yesterday it had not populated my phone for 22 hours, despite getting mail on my Mac. I've also noticed it no longer marks mail that ihas been read, consistently across all three.
    On both the iPad and iPhone I've gone into mail settings, clicked on the account tab, but then done nothing, and then watched it get mail. Something is definitely amiss with iCloud at this point.

    I have recently changed the email element of my Apple ID.  Since then I keep on receiving messages on iMac, iPad and iPhone asking for my iCloud email password for the former Apple ID.  I cannot change this on any of the above devices.

    To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your devices, even though they prompt you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • E71x: 2 problems: email won't update/instant messa...

    I had trouble getting my E71x configured to my Yahoo account but finally got it working, and it's fine. It's now about four months later and I keep getting messages saying there's an update for email and go into Account Settings to update, but when I do this, all it wants to do is push out messages on a schedule (I prefer to get them when I want them so it doesn't kill the battery).  I have updated the software using PC Suite and according to it, it's up to date - but then I'll check email a day or so later and I get the same stupid message about an update being available and to go to Account Settings. This is very frustrating.
    The other thing - if I use the instant messaging software (you know, the united one native to the phone) and I use it and log off, I find that the application does not completely close. The only way I can completely close it and keep it from burning up the battery is to shut the phone off. I've tried using the red "disconnect all" button but it won't work for the instant messaging program but it does not work. Any ideas?
    Personally, I'm waiting for the Palm Pre to be available to AT&T in 2010. I had a lot less problems (and a lot more games and applications) when I ran my old Treo 680.

    Sorry, just to add some for info to my original post to help anyone who might be able to troubleshoot my problem...I have a 2nd ipod touch and it is also having the same problem. Both touches are connected to the internet (safari works fine). I've reset the ipod which did not fix it. Ipod will not receive OR send email. The spinning icon just keeps spinning. No error messages appear. Thanks.

I originally installed the Icloud manager to sync my contacts to Cloud/Outlook, but I did not like the functionality, when I uninstalled the Cloud manager and and installed Itunes I noticed that the none of my contacts in the phone updated to Outlook.
