ICloud emails disappear

I deleted my emails and when I went into trash they'd disappeared

You're nearly there.
In the section for 'Deleted Messages' select 'Never' from 'Remove' list. BTW you need to do the same in Mac Mail under Accounts, Mailbox Behaviors, then the Trash/Deleted messages won't be permanently deleted until you decide to 'Erase Deleted Items' from the Mailbox menu in Mail.
Under Mailbox Behaviors, select the options I mentioned previously (they should by default be: Drafts Mailbox = Drafts, Sent Mailbox = Sent Messages, Deleted Mailbox = Deleted Messages). The option to Archive messages instead of moving to Deleted is in the main iCloud Account Information section, and has Archive Messages ON or by default OFF, although you don't need to do this as your Mac Mail account wil have under Trash in your iCloud account the messages you deleted on your iPhone.
Hope this helps, if not just post the settings you have for both iPhone and Mac mail under the 'Mailbox Behaviours' section

My icloud email messages disappear on all my devices after about a week and I cannot locate them - not in archive on icloud.
I use several devices to receive emails - imac, ipad, iphone and samsung galaxy note. I put all read emails to trash on samsung, ipad and iphone but keep on imac and wish to retain there for reference. All other accounts remain but icloud emails disappear. No devices say to delete from server. Can anyone please help?

If this is your iCloud email account, whcn you delete an email from any of your devices, they are moved to the trash on all devices/computers, then the trash is automatically deleted after 30 days.  That's how IMAP accounts work.  You can't delete them from your device and keep it on the server because you are reading and deleting from the server itself.
If you want to keep them on your Mac, you'll need to move them to a folder rather than deleting them.  When you do, they will be moved to the same folder on your other devices.

  • HT201342 Changed gmail password and now icloud email disappeared? How do I get access old email?

Changed gmail password and since then Icloud email disappeared! No sure how to retrieve or access Icloud email now! It use to appear under mailboxes but now
It is empty! How do we access or retrieve Icloud email?
Now sure how changing anything in Google would affect Apple and Icloud functions!
    Thanks

The only thing I did was I went to the Apple.com , logged in and changed my primary e-mail since I will be losing the old email soon ( I have a different job). I said update info and verified the email was correct. I just went to settings on icloud and logged out and tried to log in and now it won't take anything. I don't even know now which e-mail they want the primary one or recovery, it won't take any of the 3. Not sure what else to try at this point, I guess I can't buy any more music.

  • Icloud email disappearing intermittently ...need help from Apple!

    Two instances which happen intermittently:
    1) Email from a legit sender flashes enough to read but disappers when response is clicked on  - no trace of original email found anywhere.
    2) Email that are deleted are not in Trash - disappears automatically with no trace.
I asked this question many times but not received an answer from Apple yet.   Does any one else have this problem?  Is there a solution to prevent this intermittent anomaly?
    Thanks.

  • HT5330 My email crashed and my ICloud icon disappeared from my system preferences and was reverted back to mobileme which of course no longer functions and I can't seem to fix it. Any ideas?

My email crashed and my ICloud icon disappeared by my system and reverted to mobile me which of course is no longer available. Any ideas on what to do?

You'll actually need to order a snow leopard DVD first.  Then you can download mountain lion via the app store.  Confirm you meet the requirements:  http://www.apple.com/osx/specs
If you dont, you might be able to get lion instead.  That's an order over the phone, to get a redemption code.
And make sure you're actually contacting apple:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
You'll also want to confirm your 3rd party apps are compatible before an OS upgrade.  Of course, you'll also want to backup your data.

  • ICloud sent emails disappeared and can't restore from Time Machine

I'm having a very weird problem with my iCloud email. Sometime between last Friday and Saturday, all the sent messages on iCloud disappeared. They disappeared from the webmail and from all my devices (Macbook, iMac, iPhone, iPad). All the other mailboxes on iCloud are still intact.
Since I have a Time Machine backup, I tried to restore the messages. I can see all the messages on Time Machine, and I can browse and open them individually but if I try to restore them, nothing apparently happens (a dialog box saying "Restoring messages from iCloud" appears for a few seconds then disappears and no message has been restored). I tried restoring the entire Sent mailbox, then a few messages and then just one message with the same result.
I suspected a corruption in the mailbox, so I repaired the disk (no errors found) and reindexed the mailbox according to this article http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14876 and tried again but still no luck.
    I'm very puzzled. Any advice?

Don't know why they disappeared. Did you check all setting for the mailbox behaviors? If any are set to delete from the servers after a certain amount of time, then it will do that. Make sure you check each device carefully where the sent messages are stored (server, going to trash).
Also check iCloud.com website and make sure sent messages aren't being sent to trash and deleted after a number of days also.
Also, deselect all iCloud mail from all other devices to test and solve from here. That way no other device will interfer with sent messages. Be sure to check iCloud.com settings also.
When you restore from TM, you should do it from the Mail Application. Open mail and choose Sent Mailbox. Click to enter TM. Go back in time till you see your messages. Click to restore. A folder for TM will appear in the sidebar under On My Mac section. If it is not expanded, place the cursor over On My Mac and choose Show (it will appear when the cursor is over it). You should see your recovered messages there.

  • My iCloud emails have disappeared

I did not delete my icloud emails and they have suddenly disappeared - where are they?

Sign out of iCloud (System Preferences>iCloud) reboot and sign back in.

  • Since I created an iCloud email account, nothing on my ipad2 syncs with iCloud on my PC and all of my prior information has disappeared from my gmail, notes, calendar, etc. Any ideas?

Why is it that since I created an iCloud email account (my default email client is gmail), nothing on my iPad2 syncs with iCloud on my PC? Also, all prior content in Notes, Contacts, Mail, Calendar, etc. has disappeared.

Okay, I see from the control panel for iCloud in Explorer that now I have to use Outlook as my mail client for Calendar, Mail and Notes. Why? Gmail is my client and everything used to work fine until I had to get that @icloud.com account.
Also, I see I have to use Explorer as my browser if I want to sync Bookmarks. What's wrong with Firefox?
Outlook is the only supported Mail/Contacts and Calendars client on a PC.
And once more, Gmail has no connection with iCloud, you can continu using Gmail on the web or in Mail
Why not say what you expect to happen and I'll tell you if it will.

  • Some (not all) emails disappearing / deleting themselves from folders in the Mail app on iPhone 4S

I am having an issue with some of my emails disappearing on my iPhone 4S and I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues and might offer a solution? I have three email accounts on my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 (of which include my iCloud @mac.com and Yahoo!) and all are set up as IMAP so that I can be sure both devices remain in sync at all times. The issue occurs when I go into any of my archive email folders, in any one of my three email accounts and let the iPhone sync with the server so that it is up-to-date. Sometimes - not everytime - I will watch as one of my most recent emails that is cached on the phone suddenly vanishes as it pulls down the rest of the emails archived in that folder. As soon as that email vanishes, it will then automatically remove it from the server (being that it is IMAP) and that email is then gone for good. It has not been moved to trash or any other folder because I can subsequently log into Yahoo! mail for instance and do a complete search for it and it won't find it at all. At first I thought it was my fat thumb (!!!) that had acidentally hit delete on the email but it is happening around twice a week and it has only happened since getting my iPhone 4S. I have contacted Apple support by phone and they suggested completely wiping the phone and restoring from backup, of which I have done. I have changed various settings such as showing 50 recent messages rather than 1000, turing on "organize messages by thread" and "ask before deleting" and trying that for a week but none of that has helped. I have a feeling this is an iOS5 issue rather than a hardware issue because my iPad 2 has started to do the same thing and it never did it before I upgraded to iOS5. Nor did my old iPhone 3GS that I had for two years. I am losing important emails and I'm getting to the stage of thinking about never opening the Mail app on either device for fear of losing any more important emails. I'm considering resorting to logging into Yahoo! and iCloud webmail via Safari instead which is a bit of a pain. Very sorry for the long message but thought i'd best be as thorough as possible. If any of you guys have had similar issues, or if you have any suggestions please feel free to chime in. Many thanks.

Thanks to everyone for their replies - I thought that it was just me with this issue but clearly not. Also thank you to Mil_Prep and S2Linda's suggestions, unfortunately all three of my email accounts do not have a "Mail Days To Sync" option - I believe that this option only appears in Mail settings if the account is an exchange email account. Even if I was able to adjust the time period of emails to sync, I don't think that it would help because the email(s) that are going missing can be as recent as one day old, leaving all my earlier emails in the same folder intact - some of which can go back to the year 2002 for instance. I am still convinced that it is a bug with headers in iOS5. Last week I even had a related problem where I had a new email merge with an old email. The senders email address, subject title and date remained the same but the body of the text was replaced with an old email from 2006! Very odd....

  • Contacts no longer in sync between iPhone and Mac after creating iCloud email address

A few days ago, I was asked (by iCloud) to create an iCloud email address because it would be "better" than the email address I've been using. Since then, most of my contacts have disappeared from my iPhone 4s. I have noticed that the newest contacts are still on my iPhone, while all my other contacts are on my Mac and on iCloud.com.
How do I merge the two so that I don't lose any of the contacts and get them all in sync?
On my MacBook Pro, l have OS X v10.9.1, System Settings for iCloud checked for Contacts.
On my iPhone 4S, I have iOS 7.0.4, System Settings for iCloud ON for Contacts.
iCloud account on both devices is the same AppleID, which is my old AppleID, not the new @iCloud.com
My Hotmail email account has also been screwed up since this change. It keeps downloading the same messages over and over again and when I try to delete them, it tells me it is unable to move the messages to the mailbox trash.

Welcome to the Apple Community BratTheCat.
    Please try the following…
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.
iCloud doesn't change anything to do with non iCloud content, contact hotmail to resolve your hotmail problem.

  • I need to see an important iCloud email from last year, but it's not in my inbox

I Need to read an important email that was sent to me last year. But after a couple months the read emails disappear from my inbox. Is there still a way to read it again. The email provider I use is @icloud.com

    Hello JessMarSmi,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Email messages in your iCloud Inbox will not be deleted automatically.  If you need to search for an email you received, you can do so by tapping in the Search field at the top of your Inbox in Mail.
    Write messages - iPhone
    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • Notes on iCloud just disappeared

  • Still can't add aliases in iCloud email

I've had my icloud.com email address working since the end of September.  I tried to add an alias in the beginning.  It didn't work.  The error message was the alias could not be saved at this time.  After seeing many questions and answers on this forum regarding this issue, I decided to wait for the 'roll out' to be completed, the addresses 'updated', and what-have-you.  I still attempted to add an alias every now and then.  Same error message every time.  I tried to add from different browsers, different computers, even tried to flood it with persistent clickings.  Nothing.  During this time, my icloud email has functioned well, mostly.  It's been a month and half, and I'm starting to think this may never get resolved.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Paul
The 5MP is connected to the G4 and G3 via an Ansante Bridge and ethernet hub. The Epson S P 1200 is conected to the G4 by USB (powered hub) and to the G3 by serial cable. All was working well from either computer to either printer til recently ( I think when I updated to 10.4.6)
The printers disappeared from the list and when I try to add either printer I get "An error has arisen whilst trying to add the printer - server-error-service-unavailable"
The G4 sees the printers (puts them in the printers to add list and even pings the 5MP for info (light flashes) but won't add either
I juat have the G4, G3, an old 7220/200, 5MP, ansante bridge and 8 port hub on the mini network. Haven't tried printing from the 7200 (on 8.6) but suspect it will be OK.
Hope you can help. G3 still prints OK to either printer and can mount G4 for sharing (but G4 can't mount G3 for sharing - but that's another disappointing result of a previous upgrade)

  • How to see contacts in icloud email on iPad

Is there a way to pull up my contacts in my icloud email acct on my IPad?

#1 - I confirmed that my contacts are in my "icloud" email account when I went to the webpage throught firefox.
#2 - the toggle switch in (settings>iCloud) has been "on" the entire time.
However when I open the iCloudj on my IPad I cannot see or access my contacts."On the left side of the Ipad is a list of the folders I have created in my iCloud account.
         - when I make that column disappear & only have a message on my Ipad screen there are no icons that will allow me access to my contacts. At the top of the window are icons for: <inbox; up and down triangles; a flag, a folder, a trash can, a left pointing arrow and a pen/paper.
If I make the "Mailboxes" column come up (on the left of screen) then there is a listing of:
    -all inboxes
    -gmail
    -icloud
    -embarqmail
    -*VIP
    ACCOUNTS
    -Gmail
    -iCloud
    -Embarqmail
Regardless of how I access iCloud email from the list above...I can never see/access my contacts. Is this correct?
