ICloud emails gone on my new iPhone5?

I had 25 or 30 saved emails and they are gone.

All iCloud emails are stored on the server. Are they still there if you log in to http://www.icloud.com/ on your computer?
If they are, then you just need to setup the account on the phone and they will be there also, as the iPhone only shows what is stored on the server.

I want to use one of my icloud email addresses as a new apple ID.  It was an additional email contact address I originally set up for my child.  But now, I'd like to set her up on Family Sharing, using that email as her ID.  Obviously, when I try to use it when setting up a new apple ID, it says the email is already being used (Yes, by ME) and I need to select a different one.  Can I somehow delete that email address in order to set up a new apple ID using it?  Or is there another way to "re-use" that address for my child's new ID?

"Well, then I want to be able to merge that one and the one my purchases are on..."
This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
    I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.
    Best wishes -

  • How do i change my icloud email to match my new apple id?

I recently changed my apple id to update to a new email and it never updated my email for icloud so now I can not log into icloud without it telling me it is wrong. where is there an option to go in and change my icloud email to match my new apple id?

You will need to log out of iCloud on all your devices and then log back in. On an iOS device go to Settings>iCloud and click 'Delete account' (this will not delete the account from the server). On a Mac go to System Preferences>iCloud and click 'Sign out'.

  • How can I change my current icloud email? i still want an icloud email but under a new address name

i still want an icloud email but under a new address name.
I simply want a new email address under icloud but keep my same account. is this possible??? how can i do this??

    Hi CMOREL,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you'd like to use a different iCloud email address, you can create an alias at iCloud.com. See this article for the steps to create an alias:

  • This morning I changed my Apple ID to my new email address.  I thought it meant that I could then use all my alias icloud email addresses with my new Apple ID because it would be the same account.  Why am I now not getting email to those addresses.

This morning I changed my Apple ID to my new email address.  I thought it meant that I could continue to use all my alias icloud email addresses with my new Apple ID because it would be the same account.  Since then I have not received and new emails to my iCloud email addresses.  Normally I get at least  7 new emails a day, so I'm pretty sure my iCloud addresses are not working.  It would be a lot of work for me to notify a lot of people, companies, and organizations about new email addresses, so I really would like to make them work.  Will it be possible to make them work with my new Apple ID?

Roger, I didn't know that "Delete Account" was synonymous with "log out".  Yes, I had deleted my iCloud account in my iPad email settings more than once yesterday and again one more time after I read your reply.  I then followed the instructions below to log off on my Windows PC.  I found these when I searched for how to log off of iCould:
    1- Go to www.iCloud.com
2- Sign in with your current login info
3- Click on your user name on top right corner
    4- Select account setting
    5- Select "Advanced."
6- Click 2nd option, "Sign Out Of All Browsers."
I also scanned settings for all the other apps on my iPad and changed a couple that still had my old sbcglobal email address. Later, I noticed that I was able to see my old previous iCloud emails in iCloud.com, and the couple of messages that I received from this Support Community site, but still no new emails.  Suddenly the emails started rolling in again this morning.  I have 7 new ones at the moment.  I sort of expected to get a backlog of emails from yesterday, but something tells me those were all lost as "undeliverable".  I don't know who or exactly what did the trick, but the issue seems to be fixed.  I'm using my new Apple ID, and I'm glad I don't have to get all new iCloud alias email addresses after all.

  • I have an email address that was used on one Appleid account and I have now created a separate Appleid for another device. Is it possible to transfer that icloud email address to the new Appleid account?

I had multiple iPhones and iPads associated with the same apple account and I have now created a separate account for two of them.  The question that I have is whether there is a way to transfer the icloud email address to the new account?

Welcome to the Apple community 1960gmd.
Once an iCloud address is used for an Apple ID, you can't use it for any other.
Why would you want to use another Apple ID if you already have the address you want to use in another.
If you want your email on all devices but use a different ID for iCloud add it as a secondary account at settings > mail, contacts, calendars and just enable mail.

  • Can I move my iCloud email address to a new Apple ID?

    Hi,
My wife and I have just recently bought iPhones. I've had an iMac for years and an iPad for a couple of years now, so we now have the multiple users/devices issue, or conundrum if you like.
I had an iTunes account since I've had my iMac so all purchases are made on that, so we want to be able to share that account for that purpose. I never did setup another Apple ID for myself though, so I've actually been using email on that main account.
My wife now has her own Apple ID as she has her own contacts and calendars, etc, but we do share some info.
So, now I need a better way of doing this and I think I know what to do; setup my own Apple ID/iCloud so we both then have our own personal accounts and then use the main iTunes account for purchases.
    However, I have some questions;
I'd like to keep the old email address. Can I transfer that over to my new, personal Apple ID and use it for my iCloud email? *really want to know about this*
Contacts and calendars; I guess they can be exported and imported into the new account, yes? I know calendars can be shared so if we need to we can do that, but how do you share a group of contacts? If we maintain, on the main account, a group of shared contacts that will work fine; we can both access them and edit them, but how do we add new contacts to that group from our iPhones? I believe you can't add a contact to a group on the iPhone? Is there a workaround for that?
Or is there a better way that I'm missing?
    Thanking you in advance
    Lee

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
You can't transfer your iCloud email account to another ID.  You could create a new iCloud account and still add your existing iCloud account as a secondary account on your phone (in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud) but the email on that account would be restricted to fetch.  (Push email is only supported in the primary account).  If you want to maintain your curent iCloud email account as push, you might want to keep the current iCloud account for yourself and just set up a new iCloud account for your wife.
I'm slightly confused. My current email address is currently tied to my main iTunes Apple ID. I was going to setup a new iCloud account (that's the same as an Apple ID isn't it?) and use that for my mail. I can't use my current one as a secondary cos photo stream won't then be available.

  • I cant seem to be able to change my old icloud email address to a new email address

Can anyone help or is it really not possible?
Also is there any reason that when I have changed my Apple ID the old ID keeps coming up in iCloud with the request for the old password..which I can't even begin to remember!! When I follow the instructions to retrieve password I get a fault message and can go no further? Frustrating.

You can't change the @me.com address you created when you opened the account (or if you were a migratee from MobileMe the address you sign in with).
You can create up to three 'email aliases' which are additional addresses, not accounts, which deliver into the same inbox as the main address. Please see
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a
Some people are reporting being currently unable to create aliases. This seems to be because of the rollout of @icloud.com addresses - until your account is updated to use this version of your address (if it hasn't been already) you won't be able to create aliases. The aliases will be @icloud.com versions.

  • My old Apple ID does not work, so I have a new one, but the problem is, my iCloud is backed up on my old Apple ID, and I tried to delete the account, but then it said that everything would be deleted on my iPad. How do you add another iCloud email?

My old Apple ID doesn't work, so I created a new one. However, my iPad(3) is backed-up on my old apple ID. I tried deleting it(for iCloud) but it said it would erase everything. Help?

If you want to use a new ID, you'll have to create a new iCloud account using the new ID, then migrate your existing icloud data to the new account.  Start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).  Next, if you are syncing notes with iCloud, open them one at a time and email them to yourself so you can recreate them in the new account.  Finally, if you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, turn off iCloud syncing in your iWork app settings.
Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Keep on My iPad when prompted.  Then sign in with your new ID to create the new account, turn your iCloud data syncing back on and choose Merge to upload the data to the new account.
When you turn Mail to On you will create a new @icloud.com email account.  You can go to icloud.com sign into your old account and set up email forwarding from your old iCloud email address to your new one if you wish

  • HT4436 How do I get a new iCloud email address ?

How can I change my iCloud email address to a new one?

Once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account).
However, all is not lost. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

  • How to delete icloud email account and get a new one

I have been getting alot of unwanted email in my icloud account. Is there anyway to deelte an icloud email and start a new one??

You can't delete it, but you can create an email alias address to use that will receive email in your current iCloud inbox, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a.  Just be aware that an alias address cannot later be used to create a new iCloud account or be moved to a different account.
After creating your alias, you can set up an email rule at icloud.com that will send email addressed to your main iCloud email addres to the trash or junk folder, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a3f8a.

  • TS4002 How do I re-add an existing iCloud email account to iPad 2?

I set up iCloud email OK on my new iPad 2. I did not previously have a MobileMe account. When the email stopped working (I got repeated messages to say server unavailable) I followed Apple instructions to delete the account from the iPad with the intention of re-adding it.
When I try to do this, it always wants to make me create a new @me.com email address, and I can't find a way to tell it my existing one. If I try to add my existing address, it tells me that it is taken and I have to choose another (of course it's taken, it's mine!)
I can login to anything that requires an Apple ID (iTunes Store, Apple ID pages, iCloud.com etc.) with either my actual Apple ID or my existing @me.com email address and all the features on iCloud.com except Mail work fine, including Locate my iPad, Documents, Contacts, Calendar. The email address is also set up manually in Mail on my MacMini (OS 10.6.8) and still works from there. I don't wish to upgrade to 10.7 because I have some programs that won't work on that.
How do I tell my iPad that I already have an iCloud email account @me.com?

I have solved this - partially. I deleted the iCloud account from my iPad, rebooted it, then re-added it using my @me.com address as my AppleID instead of my primary AppleID. These are still linked to one another.
The iPad still says it cannot contact the iCloud server, so in the Advanced pane of the Mail settings, Outgoing Mail Server, I have allowed it to use the outgoing server of another email address of mine.
