Icloud et paratage de document
je veux mettre un document page ou number sur icloud pour le modifier depuis mon imac ou mon ipad.
mais je veux que le document reste sur le HD de mon imac.
comment faire.

Lorsque vous créez un document sur votre Mac, vous devez l'ajouter à la nuée via le site iCloud.com. Une fois que c'est leur vous pouvez travailler dessus à partir de votre téléphone.
Le document original reste sur votre Mac, mais n'est pas modifié en aucune façon par les modifications que vous apportez sur votre téléphone.
Afin de visualiser les changements que vous avez effectués à l'aidede votre téléphone sur votre Mac, vous aurez besoin de re-télécharger le document à partir iCloud.com.

How do I use icloud to restore my documents that were in Pages? Pages got stuck in "waiting" to update and when nothing else worked I deleted it and reloaded Pages. Everything I can find is about wiping everything out and restoring everything. I don't want to restore everything just my Pages documents (and numbers and keynote that also locked up during updating).
What I meant is turn off Documents and Data in iCloud in OS X. Keep it on on your iOS devices. iCloud will sync documents between the iOS devices and make them available on the iCloud web site, but it won't mess up iWorks' open and save dialog boxes. It also won't assume that you want all your documents in iCloud, which I think is undesirable anyway.
Keep iOS and OS X separate, and use the web site to move files between the two as necessary.
iOS iWork is different from OS X iWork. There are fewer fonts on an iOS device. iOS iWork programs have slightly different feature sets than OS X iWork programs, and the file formats are different. iCloud automatically converts the file format when necessary, but if you make a habit of saving things directly to iCloud, you are limited to the lowest common denominator between the two versions of iWorks. So why would anyone want iWork on the Mac to open and save documents on iCloud by default?
If you want to store files in the cloud and sync them on your Macs, SugarSync is a much better solution. It lets you choose your sync folders, it doesn't make you reorganize your files, it lets you sync all file types, it doesn't convert files to a different format and back, and it stores everything in the cloud, too. Just the simle act of saving a file backs it up and syncs it. I wouldn't live without it. iCloud is best with iTunes purchases and synchronizing Mac settings and iOS files; I woudln't live without it. The two make an unbeatable combination. -

The only way around this is to "save as" you icloud documents using the associated app to a local folder on your mac. Then turn off icloud.
Of course, when you sign off of icloud, the docs are removed from the mac, but remain in icloud. In the future when you sign back in, the documents are available to you again.
Oh, and the icloud documents are also stored locally in ...
~/Library/Mobile Documents
Note that Library in the user's home folder is now hidden, so you'll have to set Finder to view hidden files.
The Mobile Documents folder has subfolder where copies of the doc/data files are stored.
You can move these files to another folder to save them. -

iwork for ios accepts for upload and also happily opens all your Microsoft office files, from Office97 standard doc/xls/ppt to the 2011 versions of docx,xlsx,pptx and various other of these format extensions.
Notice : the upload feature in www.icloud.com is only active if you in fact own these apps on your iPhone/Pad/pod. it is not a feature of iWork for the Mac ( iwork09 ) which itself is not icloud capable at all. -

Before trying out iCloud, I had a number of documents on my ipad. I decided to try iCloud, but upon switching it back off, my documents were deleted off of pages. Upon restarting iCloud, they reappear.
So my question is, how do I turn off iCloud without having my documents deleted?> Syncing documents with iCloud is not enabled by default.
Then you shouldn't come on so strong. I have a 200 Gig Dropbox account and I have been wary from day 1 of using my 1 year MobileMe "free" storage that would eventually go away if I didn't pay Apple. I would not, and did not, set iCloud to save my documents.
I'd like to get the real answer from Apple emloyees. If you can not delete from iCloud without deleting on the computer, it's a bad design. What I'm talking about is very easy with Dropbox.

I´m having the same issue - Have you been able to solve it yet? (Your Post is from January).
iCloud has accepted some of my docs created in Pages on my Mac (Mini 2010),
but says "Format not supported" when I try draging them from `Documents´ on my Mac into the iCloud.
The docs I was able to upload to iCloud (From Pages on my Mac), were created on my Mac in Pages
(But also using photos and elements from elsewhere on my Mac, ie. `Documents´ folder.
Please let me know if you have meanwhile found a solution, but not posted it.

How does one access iCloud (non-Pages) stored documents on iCloud? Only iWork shows up.
iCloud does not provide general file storage: only iWork docucuments (at the moment) will upload to iCloud for access by other devices/computers. There aren't any other documents stored up there.

icloud works correctly in all function. but, after i uploaded a document from numbers, or pages, or keynote, after 2 days icloud removes all my document, from any places!

perché? please help me! è importanteI wish I could install Mac OS X 10.6.8 but since my computer...(a workhorse mind you) is a G5 dual 2Ghz processor, but NON-INTEL it will not run a version higher than OS X 10.5.8. At the Guiness dek in SF with another problem I was told my G5 computer will outlast the dual intel because they run hot. I wish they would make the higher versions PPC friendly there are many of us still out here ;( I'm suppost to have the faster at&t DSL but it hard to tell...at&t has been jerking with their system trying to get the city to allow them to put in huge boxes all over the city to supply TV. I haven't tried reinstalling iTunes...I will try that...thanks!

I want to create a new icloud account, but first I need to delete the previous one without losing my documents.
On your mac, use Pages or whichever app is needed for the specific document and save it locally instead of in icloud. Then disconnect your iOS device from the account. You can later sync the document via itunes.

How do I utilize the iCloud to view Pages documents created on my MacBook?
I'm trying to figure out how to get pages documents from the iCloud to view on my iPad that were originally created on my MacBook. Do I need to download the pages app if I already have it on my MacBook? I guess I'm confused as to how to even find what's stored in my iCloud. When I save things on my MacBook are they automatically put in the iCloud?

Can I expect iCloud to safely back up and secure my documents, music and pictures? I am using Cloud on phone, pad, and desktop. Have depended on external hard drive in the past. It is malfunctioning. Will the Cloud replace it for storage and safety?
Time Machine in itself, without an external drive may well be good for instances where you accidentally delete documents that you later require. However in the event of a hard drive failure, if Time Machine backup is kept on the same drive as the original items, it will not be much use to you.
In my opinion, it is vitally important that you have an external drive for backup, whether you use Time Machine or a another backup solution is entirely up to you.
My situation is slightly unusual, I have four hard drives in my computer and multiple arrays of hard drive enclosures with multiple hard drives within them (in total I have 40 TB of storage). As a result of this I tend to employ more than one backup procedure, I use Time Machine to backup some items and a utility called tri-backup to backup other items. I also keep two backups of everything.
Time Machine is free, it's included with your operating system, I wonder if you mean time capsule. -

Open the photo in your photo stream album, tap the arrow button on the upper right, tap Mail, send the email to yourself. Open the email on your computer, then copy and paste the photo into your word document.

icloud will not allow me to backup my phone because of the 7gb of data its too much for the 5gb free space on icloud and i have the documents and data turned off in the icloud settings so i dont understand whats taking up all the space? the only thing i have on the settings is my photos and thats only 4gb. I have this identical problem. For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad. Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.
Any help would be appreciated.
