Icloud for windows (windows 7) won't log in

trying to add my work computer to my icloud to sync contacts and appointments.  I loaded icloud for windows but it will not log in.  Shows the little "thinking" circle for hours.  any ideas?

Hi Matthew,
I was wondering if you can provide me some more context regarding this issue.
What do you mean by 'Secure Wireless'? Are you just referring to 802.1x authentication being deployed via GPO policies?
What type of 802.1x authentication are you using? EAP, EAP-TLS, EAP-MS-CHAPv2, PEAP?
Are you using a RADIUS server for authentication? If so, which RADIUS server are you using?
Also to better understand your scenario, can you provide me a network trace when reproducing the behavior. You can capture the tracing using the following commands run from command line or powershell.
NETSH TRACE START SCENARIO=WLAN CAPTURE=YES
NETSH TRACE STOP
If needing to reboot/logoff, you can use the PERSISTENT=YES flag during the start of the trace which will capture that. Feel free to reach out to me directly at arudell at Microsoft dot com w/ the information requested and I will investigate further.

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
      a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
      b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
"done", in the upper right corner
      c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
          security questions.
      d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
          questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
    Good Luck friends!

  • How can i download icloud for windows xp

i am trying to download icloud for my windows xp system, i didnt find installer anywhere,
    anyone have link, please send

iCloud Control Panel isn't compatible with Windows XP, so you can't get your Photo Stream photos onto the PC, for example. However, you can still access to all the iCloud services in http://www.icloud.com. Just log in with your Apple ID and access to Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Notes, Reminders, iWork files, etc.

  • Trouble accepting invitation to a photo stream on iCloud for PC

My father used to have an iPhone so he has a valid Apple ID already. He still wants to be able to be a part of the photo streams my family is creating and showing nowadays. We downloaded iCloud Control Panel for his Windows 8 laptop and all of the photo streams he was previously subscribed to show up. However, when I sent him an invite to the newest photo stream we can't figure out how to join it. When we click the "subscribe" button in the email he receives it pulls up a new page that says "To subscribe to...photo stream on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, open your invitation in the Mail app, and click the Subscribe button in the message.", nothing about how to subscribe on PC. We could really use some help! We need to know how to subscribe to a photo stream on iCloud for a Windows 8 PC.
    Thanks!

A video cannot be saved from within a shared stream.

  • Error 404 while downloading icloud for pc

    iphone
    problem : i can't download icloud for pc #windows 8 # because of error 404 on dawnloading page <i have a msg #sorry we can't find your page#<

What OS are you running? That kind of message is usually generated in XP (service pack 2) due to DEP issues. (DEP = Data Execution Prevention). You may need to disable this feature.
    Try:
Start > Control Panel > System > Advance > Performance Settings > Data Execution Prevention
Watch out though, I hear XP has various issues on iCloud. You may want to upgrade to a more recent OS.
Windows 7 is much better (don't bother with Vista).
In general, try Googling these kinds of error messages. You can normally get to the bottom of things quicker by searching on the Web, rather than faffing around with Mac's tech assistance, especially when it comes to PC-related problems. In my experience the kids at Apple's Express Lane know very little about anything, and Apple forum users with truly helpful info are few and far between.
Hope you fix your problem without too much trouble!

When I go to log onto iCloud using my Windows 7 and it asks for my login information, I get the error saying my Apple ID is valid but not an iCloud account. How do I get an iCloud account?
I don't have any apple products personally, this is for work to use Photo Stream so when Superintendents & Project Managers take pictures of their construction site, I am able to have those images immediately.
    Thank you

You can not create an iCloud account using a PC, you will need an Apple product. Once the account exists you can logon to it from a PC.

  • Outlook 2010 won't open after installing icloud for windows

    Hi,
Installed icloud for windows at work this morning after moving my MM account to icloud at home on my MBP.
Installed ok but after ticking the mail, contacts, calendar and bookmark boxes on icloud for windows Outlook 2010 starts but won't open and stays on the "Processing..." for a long time before I close it.
Also the icloud for windows control panel won't reopen except the time it opens after installation. I have tried removing it and rebooting but after it's installed, if you close the control panel it won't reopen although it's still running in Task Manager. Closing it in Task Manager and restarting doesn't make a difference.
Currently I removed, rebooted and reinstalled and only have the bookmarks ticked and outlook works ok but the control panel still won't reopen.
I am on a exchange server so don't know if this is part of the problem. Not real worried about mail but would like calendars working again.
Very thankful for any help you can offer.

I had the same problem after successfully moving from MobileMe to iCloud yesterday on my PC, ipad and iphone.
Today I couldn't open Outlook 2010. An Outlook dialogue box for my MobileMe email account kept asking for the email password, and although I put the password in, it kept re-appearing.
I turned off Norton spam temporarily, because I noticed Outlook was stuck processing the Norton plug ins at opening, and managed to open Outlook but the programme crashed every time I tried to access my email account settings (I thought I would try to delete the MobileMe email account).
I then opened the Control Panel for iCloud and unchecked the Mail with Outlook box, which has enabled Outlook to work again. The @me.com email account was gone when I checked the email accounts. I never needed to use the @me.com email account anyway.
How frustrating and such a waste of my time.
Does anyone know what difference it makes if the MobileMe/iCloud email is not connected to Outlook? Does it really make any difference when you have your email accounts in the iPad and iPhone anyway?

  • Icloud control panel (windows PC) won't log in

    Hi,
I am trying to log into the iCloud Control Panel on my Windows 7 PC.  I always get an error that says "You can't sign in because of a sever error".  How do I find out what that error is and why it won't log in?
(BTW, I am going to the control panel so I can figure out how to change the photostream, which appears to be interfering with Windows Live Photo Gallery.  My PC always shows an "I" drive under Computer>Other, which is labelled the Photostream System Folder).
    Thanks,
    Mike

Here we are in 2014 and they still havent resolved the issue .. not impressing at all ... **** poor deisgn ... think these geeks wouild have figured it out by now

  • How do I install iCloud for Windows 7 using icloudsetup_exe Apple download that won't execute?

When I download the iCloud for PC application, Apple provides a non-editable file name icloudsetup_exe instead of a normal windows executable name such as icloudsetup.exe, so after double clicking on the setup file, Windows then asks what application to open this file with, instead of executing the setup file.  Has anyone figured out how to make this work?

Yeah, I use Windows on bootcamp for both my Imac and my Macbook Pro.
In fact, seeing as my Mac partition on my external hard drive was successful i.e. I installed and can boot from them any time I like, couldn't I just use the external hard drive's partitions' bootcamp assistant and install/boot windows on there?

  • ICloud for Windows won't install

When trying to install iCloud for Windows I get the error:
"The installer encountered errors before iCloud Control panel could be configured.  Your system has not been modified.  To try these operations at a later time, please run the installer again"
I am using Windows 7 64 bit, Itunes 10.5 64 bit. My iPhone 4 and my iPad 1 both have iCould installed OK.
I also tried to "run" as administrator - same error.
    Any thoughts?

When trying to install iCloud for Windows in Windows v8.1 64 bit I get the error:
"The installer encountered errors before iCloud Control panel could be configured.  Your system has not been modified.  To try these operations at a later time, please run the installer again"
I have disable the Anti Virus, removed other Apple apps, re booted the system and have tried the installer several time from several sources. THEY ALL FAIL.

  • I'm trying to log into iCloud on my Windows PC, and it won't budge past the Login Screen.  :(

I haven't used my PC to log into iCloud for a while, and now it won't go beyond the Login Screen.    Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, how do I fix it?

While we all have MacBooks in this forum most of us don’t use iCloud. There's an iCloud Support Community where everybody uses iCloud. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer. https://discussions.apple.com/community/icloud/icloud_on_my_mac

  • Anyone else having an issue with TCP connections using iCloud for Windows?

    Hi,
Before I asked this question, I did wait to see if any related questions came up, but none did, so I submit it now.
On my admittedly older laptop running Windows 7 64b Home, I've run into difficulties with the iCloud for Windows app to the extent that I had to uninstall it.
It would that, as my laptop was running, in the background, iCloudServices.exe would endlessly iterate TCP connections, which, while not actively sending or receiving any data, after some hours would number over 100 instances, taking up resources, and grinding my laptop's WiFi connection to a grindingly slow pace. I ended up, within the app, turning off everything, iCloud Drive and Photos, (I never used bookmarks), but still this would continue to occur.
I contacted Apple Support, explaining what was going on, and they stated they only dealt with IOS and gave me a Microsoft Support number. When I called Microsoft support, I came more and more to the realization that the issue was specifically with the iCloud for Windows app, as that was the only software that was endlessly creating and not closing TCP connections as it was. How was Microsoft supposed to solve an issue with Apple code?
So I called Apple back, whereupon they insisted it was a Microsoft issue. I explained other cloud services installed on the same computer were not having the same issue, it was unique to ICloudServices.exe. They stated they only dealt with IOS. I stated I purchased an iPad Air less than 7 months ago, and was trying to run iCloud in support of that.  They again stated they only dealt with IOS, and suggested I again try Microsoft. I asked them if it was reasonable to expect Microsoft to solve issues with Apple code? They said regardless, there was zero support offered for anything having to do with Windows, and all I could do was uninstall the app, which I did, though that did not feel very satisfactory to me. My thinking is, if Apple writes a Windows app in support of their hardware, they should offer support for it.
Anyway, I was just wondering, is this an issue unique to me? or have others experienced a similar issue? I found this issue by opening the Windows Resource Monitor, looking under the Networking tab, and scrolling through the TCP Connections section to find 100+ concurrent iCloudServices.exe instances listed, whereas even Chrome, with multiple tabs and extensions, topped out at around 20.
My one month old Desktop, DYI, sports a solid Asus 1150 MoBo, i7-4790k cpu, 16GB Ram, and an EVGA GTX 970 video card. I list some specs only to illustrate this computer has no hardware issues in comparison to my long in tooth laptop. On this desktop, running Win 8.1 Pro 64b,  at least as many, identifiably Apple, background service TCP connections are created even compared to Chrome, regardless of many tabs being open, many extensions, and even some related apps. Adobe does not even come close, though I run the full CC subscription. On this new computer, running Windows 8.1 Pro 64b, there are currently over 50 TCP connections and loopbacks that do not identify themselves, with just a - for the Image, and PID. With the experience on my laptop, I wonder how many of these are generated by Apple software, if not specifically iCloud software?
The frustrating aspect of these connections is they seem in no way active, While the Chrome and Adobe connections can be seen to be transferring data, as long as I am not running iTunes, or so have my iPad actually plugged in, it seems 99% of the time these iCloudServices.exe connections are just taking up ports, neither sending nor receiving any data discernable to me under the Processes with Network Activity, or Network Activity lists, both displayed in the same window as the TCP Connections in the Windows Resource Monitor.
Though I am fairly ignorant as regards coding, it seems as if there is no call to close a connection, very specifically, iCloudServices.exe, when it is no longer needed, and the next time a connection is needed, a new one is opened, rather than accessing the one previously opened. The only other reason I could imagine this might be occurring is if my Norton Internet Security software might mask and/or block the port after a certain time of inactivity.
Anyone out there have any ideas or advice about this? Thanks in advance.

    Thanks jared,
I'm still dealing with this issue through Apple. Some time after I posted this, I contacted Apple again. They did start a case up for me, as I was experiencing the same behavior on two different machines, with two different versions of Windows.
So far it remains unsolved. I've logged iClouds for Windows on my desktop, which is brand new, then logged for awhile after completely uninstalling Norton Security Suite, depending on the Microsoft security for some time, and finally logged after I uninstalled iCloud for Windows, restarted, installed a clean download, and connected using a completely different test account, which Apple set up for me. None of this made any difference. Looking at the logs, it seems every 10 minutes, iCloudServices.exe creates a new TCP connection to confirm I'm using less than 5GB on iCloud, (which I am by a good margin, using less than 2GB), it seems this connection is not closed, and when the next iteration rolls around 10 minutes later, a new TCP connection is created. I come very close to having 6 TCP connections created per hour, until I restart my computer. This works out to... 6 x 24 = 144/day.
Perhaps the article you posted will shed some further light on this. I'm thinking seeing the state of the connection through netstats, at the least, could help.
For the last week, I've been putting a hold on further logging, as Apple wants me to create a new user account on one of my computers, install iCloud for Windows there, and log it running in the other account. This however basically means I cannot use my computer for a fair number of hours, and I've been busy enough with work the past week that I haven't the time or energy to afford to set this up and run it. I've had need of my computers too much for the past week.

why won't icloud work with windows vista anymore?

I had to re-install after the newly released iTunes - for Vista it does work with iClud 2 - not 3. You can download from this site.
