ICloud greyed out
iCloud in Settings on my iPhone is greyed out and inaccessible. Under Mail, Contacts, Calendars, the sub-section Accounts is also greyed out. My existing Gmail account is show and is recieving email in the Mail app.
Why are these items greyed out? How can I set up iCloud without these Settings menus? It has been this way since I downloaded iOS 5 three days ago with no changes.
Well, I tried a full backup and restore on my phone and only managed to complicate matters. Now iTunes doesn't recognize my phone as being my phone.. it keeps offering to restore the phone and claims another phone is already registered. Yay. Is this because of iCloud?
The phone was fully backed up and restored, and I had the fun of repoplutating my phone with registered apps. But iCloud and the Mail settings are still greyed out.

I would say you have the Restriction set that prevents changing accounts. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions

If you don't remember your restrictions passcode, you will have to force the phone into recovery mode and restore it using iTunes. Do NOT restore your backup. The restrictions passcode is part of the backup.
Everything on the phone will be lost.
You can extract the photos from the camera roll the same way you would from any other digital camera. Having a restriction passcode set should not prevent that. do that before you put the phone in recovery mode and restore it. -
ICloud and Twitter are greyed out in Systems. Can't access them.

Found the answer.A little more info is needed. How are you trying to access iCloud (via contacts, calendar, mail app)? Also check Settings>Restrictions. Not sure if turning it on would cause this, but check to be sure its not turned on.

To change your iCloud ID or password you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your other ID. If you need to migrate any of your daughter's iCloud data to your account, choose Keep on My iPad when prompted, then choose Merge to upload it to the new account. If not, choose Delete from My iPad.

I cant be positive but I think this started when my iPhone did an automatic software update. I couldn't get any WiFi connection because when I go to turn it back on the iPhone wont let me and Greys out my WiFi on/off button.
But also I think something happened to my iCloud connect as well because next to my iCloud Drive under "Settings" it has that spinning symbol that usually denotes waiting for something to finish downloading. But this time it never stopped! Its been spinning saying "iCloud is Upgrading" for 2 weeks now! I have tried the on/off iPhone restart or reset, and I've even put my iPhone into "Recovery Mode" as a last resort. but when iTunes was finished "Restoring" it, nothing had changed; Still Greyed out WiFi button and iCloud is still "Upgrading"! I am a bit confused with your statement -

return true;returning the result TRUE when both fields are not null
And this statement -
elsif ((p_select_list is null) and (p_text_field is null)) then
return true;returning the result TRUE again when both fields are null. If you see closely basically is not validating becoz it returning true whatever the input is.
I do not know what you want to use the second statement when you have else statement at the end. It will return false if one or both fields are null unless you want to validate either text field.

Wifi and iCloud Back-up greyed out
So I noticed the other day that my wifi is greyed out and I no longer have the option to turn on my wifi. I looked it up and people have told me to reset all network settings and turn on airplane mode and shut down my phone, and restart it and what not, but it's still not working. Today, I plugged my iPhone into my mom's Mac for the first time and it asked if I wanted to restore to factory settings or restore and then back-up to iCloud memory. None of my back ups for iCloud were available! I went to the iCloud section in settings on my iPhone and apparently the "iCloud Backup" option is dimmed out too, like the Wifi. Unfortunately, I cannot back up to iCloud without wifi, and I cannot connect to my computer without iCloud and I cannot get my wifi to work without restoring my phone, but I can't restore my phone if I don't have anything to back it up to afterwards! I'm signed into the right account on iTunes on my computer, and when I go to iCloud.com it shows that I have my contacts saved and everything. Can anybody helped? My phone is practically useless right now and I don't have a warranty on my phone anymore. HELP PLEASE!
If you can't find the iTunes store app on your iPad then have you hidden it via Settings > General > Restrictions > iTunes Store 'off' ?
What do you mean by 'won't back up to icloud', what happens when you try to backup ? -
I downloaded new os for my daughter's ipod touch. I remember during setup after that I checked off my husband's email account and now she is receiving his texts. How do I fix this. The "icloud"/ "messages" buttons are both greyed out under settings
Forgotten RESTRICTIONS Passcode
- Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored.
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

Can anyone help with Ibook previously downloaded on ipad now somehow sitting in icloud and unable to open on ipad . it is greyed out.
I Have this problem as well on my iPad using ios8. I found it only happened after I downloaded the some free books from the bookstore. I have tried to reset all settings but nothing seems to have worked. any ideas??

I've just updated and installed Mountain Lion. I've clicked for iCloud for Mail. The correct information in the email address, Full name and Incoming mail server panes are greyed out, and I can get no further in bring my iCloud a/c online. Any ideas? Thanks.
They are grayed out because they are automatically set up whey you check Mail in System Preferences. If you didn't do that, go back and do so and your iCloud email account will be set up automatically.
