ICloud Group contacts disappeared after upgraded to Windows 8.1.

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 received message "The set of folders cannot be opened.  The information store could not be opened."  When opening the iCloud contacts in Outlook 2010.  I performed the fix of signing out of the iCloud control panel and back in to resolve the above error message and was able to access my addresses.  However, all of the iCloud Group contacts disappeared from Outlook and from iCloud.  Is there any way to restore the iCloud contacts back to a point when the Group contacts still existed.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 14t-1200 CTO Beats Edition Notebook PC and issues after an Windows 8.1 update. I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults.You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which should resolve the fan issue.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system. If the drivers are not updated this could cause this same issue.
If that does not help at the end of the document it shows you to do a hardware test.
Please note remove any and all USB devices before troubleshooting. Disconnect all non-essential devices

    After upgrading to Windows 10 (and using Edge rather than IE), all of the folders etc. on the left side of my Verizon email disappeared.  I can move emails to folders but I can't see the folders.  Does anyone know how to fix?

    A VZ DSL Tech told me last week to use Google Chrome or another browser (other than I.E. 11) since I Upgraded to WINDOWS 10 on Aug 3.  I think he said this issue also affects FiOS users. In I.E. 11, I see NO Folders on left, and NO New eMails.  Only page headers. In MICROSOFT's new EDGE, the Folders are missing on the LEFT but the NEW eMails show. The VZ Tech said VZ know about this issue but that VZ cannot resolve it.  It is a MICROSOFT issue.  My hunch is that IF IT IS a MICROSOFT issue, a "FIX" will come out in a WINDOWS 10 UPDATE.  The VZ Tech could NOT give me a time frame.  So for now, I use CHROME to check my VZ Email.  I've read posts where some are able to use Firefox. Best wishes.

    I have upgraded to Windows 8.1 yesterday, when I open my Outlook 2013, the iCloud in Calendar and People (contact) are not working. The error message is "The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened".
    I have reinstalled iCloud add in from Apple, it still cannot resolve the problem.

    I have had the same problem.
    I have deleted the icloud account in Outlook and reinstalled it again by "icloud system control".
    Now I am able to access my icloud calender, etc. again.

    I noticed that when I tried to sms and do a search for someone in my contact list and I can't find their name. The weird thing is that the same user is still in the Whatsapp contact. So when I click call thru Whatsapp, I be able to call and see his name in the contact. I dont have this problem before the upgrade. How can I get back some of the missing contact again?

    I updated to ios 6.1.2 and now SMS messages don't work.  I can iMessage, but non SMS messages.  Can't send or receive.  And when I send SMS messages, it appears to send, it's just never receieved.

    Thank you for your suggestion.  I backup on itunes. I went to itunes, deleted syncing my contacts, then re-synced them. But the Facetime capability option continues to be there on most (not all, for some curious reason) of my contacts. I am not sure I posed my question correctly.  I want to be able to FT with my family, so don't want to delete the FT capability totally from my iphone and ipad. But I don't want all these other iphone calls from various contacts to ring on my ipad as FT calls.  I want a way to select with whom I have FT capabilities. Any further suggestions?     Hi, After upgrading to windows 8.1 from windows 8 i am experiencing major problems , loss of internet connectivity for no reason both I.E. and G/CHROME are now taking an age to open there are no virus issues as far as i can see.
      I have uninstalled and re-installed  windows 8.1 about four times over the past 9 months or so and the same thing happens after all the updates are in it runs like a dream for say 6weeks or so then i get the same faults as described above then i uninstall/ re-install ok for 6 weeks .

    Thank you your query.
    I understand that after updating to Windows 8.1 about every 6 weeks you loose wireless connectivity for no reason  and the web pages are very slow to open.  If you uninstall and reinstall Windows 8.1 it works fine again for about the same amount of time.  You have done this about 4 times with the same result each time.
    Do you know if there is any changes at that time , perhaps an update?
    You stated you do not believe you have any viruses.  Just to be sure here are two links that will help confirm that.

    After updating to Windows 8.1 have you checked for Windows updates?

    The original driver (according to HP's site) is a Realtek PCIe Family networking controller, Version:7.26.902.2010 Rev. A.
    I tried contacting HP, but apparently I voided their warranty once I upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise. I do not have a support plan with Microsoft because the operating system was purchase through TechSoup (nonprofit). I greatly appreciate your help;

    There should be something listed in the USB section for the monitor touch functionality. My only suggestion would be to uninstall the drivers for the monitor (again), remove the USB cable, and restart the system. See if it picks up the monitor and tries to install the drivers, then connect the USB cable and see if it tried to install the touch functionality.

    There are quite a few versions of the SPECTRE so I will need your product number to identify exactly which model you have.  This document can show you where the product number is located.

  • After upgrading to Windows 8.1 firefox longer works. I got it to load but screen is either blank or doesn't go to target address

    after upgrading to Windows 8.1 from 8 nothing works correctly. Firefox 1st received 'unable to load XPcom' After resetting and uninstalling several times Firefox now loads to either a support screen or blank screen. It accepts address input but doesn't execute to target. So far I have been unable to roll back upgrade.
    Although IE11 works, it doesn't work correctly.

    It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
