Emails are fine on the Mac Mini, but nothing is going to or from the iPad. Any suggestions?

I solved this problem by switching the iPad off and back on again.

Try Googling "sync without iTunes".
There are free alternatives and there are not so free alternatives.
Btw, to check if AVG is causing the problem, you should uninstall AVG and not just "turn it off".
Also, can you describe how you go about uninstalling a program? For example, how did you "delete" iTunes?

To anyone who has viewed this post and is having similar difficulties, the answer came on a different forum: I dragged & dropped the files from Mail to iCloud Drive. Opened them on my MB Air, they were saved in Templates and are now accessible across all my devices.

The one thing in the article that you might want to check first is that the date and time are correct in Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On.
The next thing that I would try is, turn off FaceTime in the settings, reboot your iPad and then turn FaceTime on again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I lost SIRI also after I updated to IOS 6. I was going to reset and then decided to check in the Settings to see what was going on. Sure enough, the updated turned SIRI off. Turned it back on again and it works fine!

From the Ipad manual - actually the same in Ipad, Ipod, Iphone --- the support site listed has frequently asked questions on Icloud drive.
Set up iCloud Drive
You can set up iCloud Drive using Setup Assistant when you install iOS 8, or you can set it up later in Settings. iCloud Drive is an upgrade to Documents & Data. When you upgrade to iCloud Drive, your documents are copied to iCloud Drive and become available on your devices using iCloud Drive. You won’t be able to access the documents stored in iCloud Drive on your other devices until they are also upgraded to iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite. For more information about upgrading to iCloud Drive, see support.apple.com/kb/HT6345.

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system information and details like the crash logs from your Event Viewer.

ICloud has stopped my mail from working - help!!

Hi,
I recently installed iCloud for my MacBook Pro. However, since then i can't download mail from any of my email accounts (me.com, gmail, or work email) using Mail.
At first I noticed it was also failing to remember my different account passwords but i solved this problem in the keychain and now it remembers my password. Nevertheless, i keep getting the error that although the accounts are offline, or just nothing happens when i attempt to download. I have the caution icon next to the mobile me account but all the settings

What update of Mail? Do you mean the 10.7.2 System update? And if so did you download and install the Combo Update?

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
