  • Icloud icon Missing from system preferences

Why can I not find my icloud icon in system preferences?  Help!!!

Because you're running Snow Leopard (10.6.8 as noted in your profile)?
You must upgrade to Lion or Mountain Lion to 'get' iCloud. Or just wait until Mavericks is released later this fall. You can directly upgrade now to Mountain Lion, if your system has the right specifications -> http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5444 - or wait for Mavericks. Your call. Mountain Lion is $20 and available from the Mac App Store: Apple hasn't announced a price for Mavericks.
    Good luck,

  • Mountain Lion Safari iCloud icon missing

After installing Mountain Lion the expected iCloud icon in Safari toolbar is not there! Please advise! P. Bowden

    Discovered it myself!
In system Preferences/iCloud tick Safari and enable Bookmarks to merge!
Now to see what happens to bookmarks on my iPhone!

  • Missing icloud icon (and option?) on macbook

The icloud icon missing in system preferences - so I can't set up icloud on my macbook.  Is it because I need to upgrade my os?  If so, and how do I do that?

The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mountain Lion preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
    and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

  • Missing iCloud icon

I have changed from MobileMe to iCloud but I have no iCloud icon in System Preferences.
Also, not sure how to re-sync my calendar with iCloud - doesnt seem to be an option for that.

Just did a software update, Im downloading it as I type.
Would have been useful if Apple issued the update at the some time as iCloud...
    Thanks

  • Missing iCloud icon on iPhone settings

There is no iCloud icon in my iPhone settings.  I have an iCloud account that works on my computer and iPad.  Help.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The icon you have described is where you should login to your iCloud account. If you say that your iCloud details are not correctly entered into this area, then I suspect that your mail is not set up correctly and will shortly stop working. How did you go about migrating from MobileMe to iCloud.

  • Can't select iCloud icon in settings

I can see the iCloud icon in settings on my iPad2 but it won't allow me to select it. Could someone please help me as I've looked at various things like upgrading and restoring but none of them have worked.

When I go to settings>mail the iCloud options are there but it won't allow me to select them. They are shaded text and therefore not accessible.  When I set up my iPad I may have passed over setting up iCloud but according to the tutorials I've read it says you can go into settings>iCloud and set up from there but when I try that it doesn't allow me to select iCloud.  When I go into iCloud.com it is just a tutorial page that comes up so I'm not really sure what to do.  It is probably something really silly and easy but it's really frustrating me.  Thanks for your response.  Any other ideas? Am I missing something?

  • Lost iCloud icon

    Good Morning,
Although I can still access my iCloud account if I go to www.iCloud.com I just realized that the iCloud icon is missing.  Its not under system preferences (network/internet) and I am unable to locate it in the 'Finder'.  Its more convenient to have.  Any ideas on how I can fix this problem?
    Thank you!
    Mattie

    Hello,
iCloudrequires Mac OS X 10.7.4 or higher.
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html
I see on your Tag you are running Mac OS X 10.5.8
    You would need to upgrade your Mac OS X, provided your MacBook meet these requirments;
Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of RAM
Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later with the Mac App Store installed
At least 4GB of additional disk space to accommodate the download, but more is obviously recommended

  • HT204053 I think I followed all set up instructions, but there is no iCloud icon on my iPad desktop

I followed instructions to set up iCloud on my iPad mini, my iPhone 4S, and my windows PC.  When I look at settings on the iPad and iPhone, everything is enabled?  However, there is no iCloud icon on my desktop, and I can't access content from the cloud.  What am I missing?

There is nothing wrong, because there is no iCloud icon. iCloud services are just integrated in apps like Mail, Calendar, Calendars, Reminders, Notes (Please see also: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/)

I go into system preferences on my mac and there is NO icloud icon. what do i do???

Your signature says you have 10.4.6 (Tiger) - is this correct? (If it isn't please keep your signature up to date to prevent confusion). The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is now non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements - if you are indeed running Tiger it's possible that you may not be able to.
If you are rusing an Intel Mac you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard first to be able to access the Mac App Store - it's available in the online Apple Store. However if you have a PPC Mac you cannot run Snow Leopard and cannot proceed further.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price (though it's reported to have been removed from sale in some countries so may well cease to be available generally) but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory

    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table , and that no system later than Tiger will run the Classic Environment.

  • Hello, i purchased the movie Changeling and its shows in Itunes library but will not transfer to my Ipod. It has the Icloud icon showing in the top right hand corner and if i click on play it starts to download from Icloud again and it does this each time

hello i purchased a movie recently and it shows in my Itunes library but will not transfer to my ipod. It has the Icloud icon in the top right hand corner of the cover and if i click on play it starts to download from Icloud again and it does this each time i wish to play it, the same now happens to all my purcased movies which of course uses additional ISP download allowance. Before the recent update and lay out of Itunes this didn't happen i just purchased a movie and downloaded it then synced it to my ipod and enjoyed it. But now this latest movie purchase will not download to my ipod. I have sent the problem to Itumes and if  there is answer i havent received it. Appreciate any advice
    regards john

    Hello hotsone,
You may need to download a lower resolution version of the movie in order for it to sync to your iPod.

  • I have the ICloud icon.  When I try to sign in using my Apple ID, the message says that the ID is valid but I don't have an account.  How do I get an an Icloud account?

I have the ICloud icon on my PC - Windows 7 - and the program.  When I try to sign in using my Apple ID, the message says that the ID is valid but I don't have an account.  How do I get an an Icloud account?

You can't create an iCloud account on your PC.  You have to first create an iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher).  After creating the account on one of these devices you can use the ID to sign into the account on your PC.

  • HT201317 I want but don't have iCloud icon in control panel (internet). I have a MobileMe icon which I can't log into and I'm not sure if it is an old version of the same thing? Clicking on it directs me to a closed website which redirects me to iCloud.

I'm trying to set up photo stream on my PC so that photos automatically download and are saved on my harddrive but I cannot find an iCloud icon in the relevent section of the control panel. I do have a MobileMe icon but cannot log into it with my Apple logins and am not sure if it is the same thing anyway. Any advice how to get photo streaming set up?

Install Vista or Windows 7. You will also need Office 2007 or 2010

  • How do I find the iCloud icon to add to the dock

How do I find the iCloud icon to add to the dock.  I believe this was on the dock when I first had the computer.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
iCloud is not an application, so it does not appear on the Dock or Applications folder. Instead, you can manage iCloud settings in System Preferences > iCloud.
iCloud only appears as an application in Windows because of iCloud Control Panel
