Icloud IMAP server connected to itunes password?

I just changed my itunes password and now I get a message on my computer about icloud: The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “(me)”. How do I solve this and are the two passwords connected somehow?

That depends on whether you are using the same ID for iTunes and for iCloud - some people have separate ones, some have the same, and it rather sounds as if you have the same. The iTunes Store window shows you login in the top right-hand corner - if this is your iCloud email address then you need to change the password in System Preferences>iCloud.

    iCloud Mail is down.  Has been for a while.  I would hope this will be resolved soon.
    I agree with you.  iCloud does not seem to have anywhere near a 99.9% uptime.  :-)

    A number of users who have chosen to set up iCloud mail manually in the Mail application seem to encounter problems with continually being asked to sign in. This may well be a result of incorrect settings such as not setting 'Apple Token' for authentication under the accounts advanced settings.
    A more general approach to remedying such problems would be to turn off Mail in System Preferences/Settings > iCloud, checking the account has been removed from Mail (and deleting it if it hasn't), restarting and then enabling iCloud Mail again from System Preferences/Settings > iCloud. This will ensure the correct settings are used.

    Same here.  I thought someone hacked into my account, but it appears to be a bigger Icloud server issue.  Well, it's like MobileMe all over again!  Grrrrrrr.

    It was working forever and has only now just stopped!!

    The OS is slow.

    Did you actually "Make the move" to iCloud? You have to manually do that to transition from MobileMe.

  • Emails without content, "IMAP server not responding", missing password etc.

    I'm having heavy issues with the email app on my iP4.
    It started yesterday when it showed up my inbox like this:

    I rebooted without success.
    All of a sudden it worked again when I checked about half an hour later.
    Today in the noon the same error, but it stays the same for hours now.
    I rebooted, switched off and on without success.
    I deleted the IMAP account, rebooted, started to create the same account. Then I am asked if I want to configure the acc. without SSL (which is not needed), I say No and save the acc.
    When I want to check my emails it says that there is no password configured, so I go into settings, set it up again (and I am sure that I set it right at first setup), check email again and get the message that the IMAP server of the acc. does not respond.
    This is driving me nuts. I had this issue 2 or 3 weeks ago already and restored from a backup, after that it worked ok. Last week I installed everything from scratch, it took me 2 days to reconfigure my phone for my needs.
    Maybe someone has an idea before I send my phone in...
    PS: This applies to several email providers. On my wife's 3GS everything works fine.

    I have been the same issue on my iPhone 4 since last saturday (01:34 A.M, Paris time).
    My iPhone cannot sync anymore with my gmail account using IMAP protocol ! It has been working fine on different generations et now, it just won't !
    All my other accounts work just fine and it's not related to some kind of wireless operator limitation.
    I have googled this and found out that people are having the same issue. I tried everything but nothing solves it !
    Any bugs causing this ?

    Is your gMail POP or IMAP?
    It's likely just a Port# or authentication method not really the Password.

    If you would like to remove or add any email accounts this can be done in the System Preferences > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
    If you mean the signed in Apple ID for iCloud, then that can be changed in System Preferences > iCloud.

    iCloud Mail is down.  Has been for a while.  I would hope this will be resolved soon.
    I agree with you.  iCloud does not seem to have anywhere near a 99.9% uptime.  :-)

    This is happening only when CAPABILITY command is sent follwed by LOGIN command. Please check this issue.

    If you want your mail delivered properly the Official Host Name of the sending server should match the PTR (reverse DNS) of the sending IP Address, and there should be an "A" record that matches the OHN as well.
    Example:
    mail.yourdomain.com (Official Host Name) on 123.123.123.123
    PTR for 123.123.123.123 should match mail.yourdomain.com
    There should be an A record in yourdomain.com pointing to 123.123.123.123

  • Mavericks Mail IMAP Server Connection Problem

    I manage a number of IMAP servers for clients. One server no longer connects since I upgraded to Mavericks - it basically tells me the settings are wrong, though they have not changed for quite some considerable time.
    The account works fine in Thunderbird (created for testing this morning), so clearly there is a bug of some sort in the Mail code. I'm connecting via IP address, as the server doesn’t host a live domain; I have connections working OK to other servers by IP address, so it's not clear why this one is not working.
    How does this get reported to Apple?

    Open Mail App.  Go to the Mail Menu and select Mail Feedback.  This will provide more than just written feedback regarding the specific Mail Appl.
