ICloud inbox

Hello
Anyone know how long mail stays in my icloud inbox if i dont delete them manually?
My older mail seems to disappear...
and attachments become inaccessible in  mails that are in  a thread  ! i can see the name of the attachment.. for example cx4order.xls
but it is just a text .. the file can no longer be accessed!
How can they just disappear? how can attachments disappear?
If i dont delete a mail i want it and its attachments to stay intact..
this is a very very annoying  and extremely destructive  !
I have tried logging into icloud.com to find them to no avail.
My imac ipad and iphone as well.  old mail and attacment are gone!
What is going on here?
You help and advice is greatly appricated!
Thank You!

You add an iCloud email account by going to Settings>iCloud, signing in with your Apple ID to create your iCloud account, then turning on Mail.  To see the inbox, open the Mail app, tap "Mailboxes" on the top left (if you have multiple email accounts set up on your device), then either tap "All Inboxes" (to see a merged list of all of your accounts) or "iCloud" (to see just your iCloud inbox).

  • Unable to search icloud inbox in Outlook 2013, Windows 8.1

    HI,
I hope someone can help, I've been struggling with this for a few weeks.
I largely use my iPad and iPhone for email but have recently been more reliant on my Windows laptop as I have need to create items in office and it's simply easier on the large screen.
Outlook and iCloud integration has however been a constant source of frustration.  I have almost got it, including the work around to subscribe to the sent items folder and create a rule.
The one thing now causing me frustration is that I am unable to search the iCloud inbox.  When I type a search string it simply sits in 'searching' even though the message is there.  This is strange as I can search all other iCloud folders and even right clicking on a message and selecting find messages in conversation works.
I have tries rebuilding the index.
As a side note, as it might be related, every time I open Outlook I receive the message 'For best performance, iCloud should not be set as the default data file.  You can change this setting in Windows Control Panel under Mail, Data Files.'  As I'm not sure what this means I've not done this.
I'm sure I can't be the only person with this frustration and I really hope someone has a neat solution.
Thanks for reading and hope to get a response soon.

I have had the same problem.
I have deleted the icloud account in Outlook and reinstalled it again by "icloud system control".
Now I am able to access my icloud calender, etc. again.
    Hope this helps, best, Peter.

  • How can I get iCloud inbox to receive incoming mail

I am unable to receive incoming messages in iCloud inbox on iPad 2. I followed all troubleshooting steps Including adding and deleting iCloud account.

I've got the same question but I'm using Outlook 2007... must be a solution after I've just spent a ridiculous amount of time inputting friends Birthdays into Contacts!!

  • IPad 3 Mail always defaults to iCloud inbox instead of unified inbox?

Fairly new to my iPad 3, but a long-time iOS user with an iPhone 4S. I have an iCloud email account along with my work Exchange account. iClous is the defaul email account. For some reason, any time I restart the iPad, Mail opens only in my iCloud inbox, and not in my unified inbox. Can't find any setting relating to this action. My iPhone 4S consistently opens in the unified inbox, with the exact same email accounts running the same 5.1.1 system with the same settings. A small bug, but kind of driving me nuts anyway. Am I missing a setting somewhere to fix this issue?

Do you really use the icloud mail?? I removed it and it does not happens with other accounts

  • Missing email from my iCloud inbox.

When I download eMail messages they downloadI And I can see that happen. However, the eMail messages do not go to my iCloud Inbox. Nor do the eMail messages go to my gmail Inbox.
Strangely most, but not all eMails, can be found in gmail folder "Important".
I also had the same problem with Mobile Me, unfortunely at that time I did not have a gmail account. Those missing eMails from the Mobile Me Inbox were never recovered. So I gaps in my email, weeks, or months.

To change the From name on and iOS device, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap iCloud under Accounts, tap your iCloud account at the top of the next screen, tap Mail at the bottom of the next screen, then enter the name you want to use in the Name field at the top.
To change the From name on a Mac (if you have one), go to icloud.com, sign into your account, open Mail, click the gear shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, go to the Accounts tab and enter the name you want to use in the Full Name field and click Done.  Then quit Mail on your Mac and re-open it.  Your new From name should now appear in the drop-down list when you compose a new email.

  • ICloud inbox suddenly EMPTY

Suddenly, this afternoon (7/31/12 around 4:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time), my iCloud inbox was empty. Poof. No warning, no nothing. Just empty.
What on EARTH is going on?

Yes indeed, it's empty of everything except a couple of messages sent since I posted. A number of users are reporting the same problem. Suddenly various iCloud mailboxes are just empty - poof

  • Removing one iCloud Inbox

Under MAIL > Mailboxes > Inboxes I have two duplicate iCloud inboxes, one of which is always offline. They both contain older duplicate emails, except the new mail coming into the online box does not show on the offline box. I want to remove the duplicate "offline" iCloud inbox, but can't find a way to do this. Can you help me with this?
    Thanks.

Go to Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts tab. Probably there is only one iCloud account in the left pane. Delete it, quit Mail, and add the account again. Mail should then sync all emails again, except with a single Inbox and without duplicates.

  • ICloud Mail read on iPhone 6 not in mac iCloud inbox

I have had a problem with email messages on my iCloud account not showing in my Mac (OS 10.10 Yosemite) iCloud inbox if I've read that message on my iPhone, even though it remains in my iCloud inbox on my phone.  Even marking the message as unread on my phone did not cause it to show up in my inbox on my Mac.
I haven't found any comments on this but am aware that sometimes it requires a mac reboot to properly sync some iCloud content.  It is rare that I reboot my mac, but in this case, it did resolve the issue and the messages that were not showing now are (both iPhone and mac inboxes match).
So I chalk this up to an OS-X issue, but it is only a 10-15 second reboot so not a huge deal other than that I need to be aware that I need to reboot it when the iCloud inboxes are not syncing.

Reading a recieved message with a POP account with one email client by itself does not prevent the message from being downloaded and read with another email client. The iPhone's Mail client does not include an option for removing messages from the server when downloaded with a POP account as is available with an email client on your computer such as the Mail.app.
A problem with a POP account is only one email client at a time can access the incoming mail server for new messages and download any new messages. If a 2nd email client attempts to do this while another email client is doing the same, the 2nd email client will be temporarily locked out by the incoming mail server.

  • How can I remove Notes from my iCloud Inbox?

I have just enabled iCloud Mail on my Mac.  As might be expected, my iCloud Notes started showing up in my iCloud Inbox.  However, when I go to Accounts ==> iCloud ==> Mailbox Behaviors ==> Notes, and uncheck "Show notes in Inbox", attempt to exit, and select "Save changes...", I receive a pop-up message "Invalid Incoming Mail Server    The 'Incoming Mail Server' field cannot be empty."  Currently, the Incoming Mail Server field has an entry (not sure if I should write it out here) which is grayed out, and seems as though it can't be changed.
Previously, I was able to remove the Notes from my POP3 Inbox without a problem.
    Help?
    JK

You could manage your connected devices in iTunes on your computer: Menu bar: Store > Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Manage Devices. Here you could remove connected devices from your account.

  • ICloud inbox not syncing to iMac running Yosemite

This problem started when I was running the Yosemite beta (on a separate drive); my iCloud (mac.com address) e-mail would sync fine on the Yosemite beta, but nothing from the inbox would appear on Mavericks unless I was on the computer at the time the mail arrived. Everything showed up fine on my iOS devices, my Macbook Air running Mavericks and the Yosemite beta mail.
Upgraded to Yosemite hoping the problem would be fixed, but it's not. Nothing in my Mail inbox will sync from iCloud down to my iMac. Everything's there that's in folders, everything shows up on all my other devices, and if new mail comes while I'm on my iMac and Mail is open it will show up. But any other mail in my iCloud inbox will NEVER show up on my iMac. I've tried everything, mostly more than once: turning account on and off; deleting account and setting up again; removing certain files from the Library-Mail-V2 folder (though I might have missed the correct ones I guess) but nothing works.
This makes Mail completely useless to me as the iMac is my main computer and I get most of my e-mail to my mac.com account. The only solution I can think of now is to set it up to forward to one of my non-Apple accounts. Any other suggestions appreciated though.

Finally I had the idea to grab a Time Machine backup of my V2 folder, or parts of it, from before I installed the beta. This worked … sort of. I did get all my iCloud mail, but the problem persists. If my iMac is awake with Mail open, new mail from iCloud arrives, if it isn't, it doesn't. And NOTHING I have tried, and I've tried everything I could find and think of, solves this problem.

  • Duplicate icloud inboxes on my ipad  mail

I have duplicate icloud inboxes/accounts on my ipad "mailboxes" screen, but only one icloud account in "Settings". How do I stop the duplicate inbox/account showing up in Mail? (I think the duplication happened accidently when I was rushing around & touched something by accident!!!) Thanks

I solved this just by deleting my iCloud account & adding it again.

  • Mac mail inbox spinning wheel adjacent icloud inbox

my Mac mail inbox, adjacent the icloud tray has a continious grey spinning wheel, no new mail is coming in.
Also there is a grey clock adjacent Reminders/Notes/iCloud? Are they related; how to fix?

    Hi Eric,
    This is my very first post because I can usually fix things on my own, but I was freaking out a bit. I did so many things to mess up my mail, including changing an IMAP account to a POP account, applying rules that were not very smart, and when things started to go wrong, I deleted the POP account. Essentially, I pulled all my emails off the server, put them in a folder on my Mac, then deleted that folder by deleting the account. But, I appreciate your reply and potential solution. I'm always happy to learn more about my Mac, and now I know where I can look (home/user folder Library/Mail) should this happen again, so thanks for that. I was just going to leave a reply to my own post;
I panicked, but (I think) I have fixed this. I used Time machine to restore my inbox. Suffice it to say I have a much better understanding of Apple's Mail app and how careful you need to be with setting Rules. <—— (Very embarrassed face)

  • All of the emails in my icloud inbox have disappeared in the last week and now I am getting 10-20 junk mail per hour. Any thoughts?

I converted to icloud weeks ago, but then all of my old emails in my inbox disappeared in the last week. I can't find them anywhere. On icloud.com, on any of my devices, no where. They have evaporated. Help???
Also, when that occurred I am now getting 10-20 junk mails an hour. Some are completely new to me, but others I have opted out of before. I am about to stop using this email address if it can't be resovled.
    Very frustrating. Thoughts?
