ICloud- inquiring about going huge
3 questions and I apologize if this is posted in the wrong area. I looked for a iCloud-dedicated board. Couldn't find one
1- I am super pumped about this whole Cloud integration and love using Apple products whenever the price between right to nearly obscene. But I'm wondering if I will be able to store 1TB of data on the iCloud? Apple is only advertising a 50GB upgrade.... but what if I'd like to store all of my media cloud-style? Do you think they will have some sort of massive option/discount?
2- Things I should bring to attention to avoid any discussion lashing. I don't know much about cloud(s). The extent of my knowledge comes from skimming the info that Apple has provided. I am unaware of any performance limitations using iCloud may present if I'm to say try and watch an HD movie. If this concept of buying a TB of cloud space is not a terrible idea, I'm not a total idiot and would definitely consider buying space from a company that deals more in bulk if the price is hugely different (but would using any other provider present any limitations in terms product linking, etc.?).
3- I'm in the business of creating apps (iPhone, Android, Web). I'm not a developer. I outsource that work. Nonetheless, I like being as up-to-date on trends within the industry as possible so I can ask a iPhone developer for example: "what language are you coding this in?" If he responds "I'm using this new tool that mimics native apps but really is a webapp at its core" I'd say "you're a POS. I told you I wanted a native app written in this language and uses these APIs..." SO my question is, I see a lot of cloud talk bouncing around in iPhone/app development circles. What are the advantages of using cloud (however possible) within an app? My app, specifically, is one that has creating profiles, geo-location, back and forth communication between users inapp, and transfering data in general at its core. How could I benefit or what should I expect my developers to think in terms of utilizing a cloud GIVEN the fact that we are about to embark on rapidly churing out our V2.0 product?

Well, I'm sure you are looking forward to a really detailed answer; however, the problem about a not-yet-publicly released product is:
The only people who may be able to provide such an answer are not allowed to do so (or they'd be violating the NDA they agreed to); so, for now, the only information available is what Apple has publicly made available. And, speculation about future Apple products is not allowed here....

I would like to inquire about how I could have my iPad 2 repaired or replaced. I bought it With a credit card via apple store website last June 19 of this year. At first, I already noticed a little white spot in the middle of the screen visible when the display on screen is dark. I thought this was okay. Now, My problem with it is that, it now has green discolorations at the center whenever the screen display is black or dark I.e. When a website's color is black or dark or whenever I go to the search interface.

If the banned credit card is still on the account, iTunes Store would sent a preauthorization request to the financial instute which would be declined as the credit card isn't active. To remove the credit card, please follow and choose "none":

If "none" is not an option, the latest order is unpaid - maybe due to the fraud transactions. In this case you have to contact iTunes Store Support to clarify the order. If it is fraud, they can forgive the order. If the order wasn't fraud, then you have to pay first (just choose a active payment method or redeem a gift card).

I downloaded two cd's last night and I am un able to play some songs cause it tells me I am this computer is unauthorized to play some songs,I did what it said about going to store to get authorized and still will not work,not happy at all! I NEED HELP OR MY MONEY BACK NOW!
There seems to be an occasional issue with downloads from the store. They prompt for authorization when they are in fact corrupt/incomplete in some fashion. Try deleting the problem tracks (do not hide from iTunes in the cloud), close iTunes and reopen, go to iTunes Store > Qucklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer. Select a few tracks to download then click the icon that appears at the top-right of the iTunes window.. Untick the box that reads Allow simultaneous downloads. Proceed with the rest of your eligible purchases.
If you still have a problem use the Report a problem links in your account history to contact the iTunes Store support team.

What command can be run from the cmd to inquire about the language layout that is used right now?
I have windows 7 32bit platform. Is there any command that can be run from the command line just to inquire about the language bar that is currently in use? Suppose I have English keyboard on my machine but I am switching between 3 languages when I write
my documents (e.g. English, German, Spanish). I want to know if there is any way to tell what language layout that is in current use as seen in the language bar. This question is not about how to change language layout from the command line -- just to know
what layout. For example, the command can return some sort of string to indicate which layout is currently in use: "english", "german", "spanish", and so on.
My ultimate goal from this question is to pass this output into an external editor that will hopefully change font based on the input language? Any help to achieve this goal will be much appreciated.

Who can I contact to inquire about iPad donations for ELL elementary program?
Hi,
I am an ELL teacher in one of the elementary schools in MA. I am inquiring about iPad donations to our ELL program that we could integrate into language instruction. Researches and common practices prove iPad usage in the classroom benefitial and motivational for students and their academic progress. Unfortunately, our school district is very much behind in tech, and we barely have enough computers for a class of students in our computer lab. They cannot afford to buy any piece of equipment that is not budgeted. iPads would be used by students in small groups to help them develop their vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone could give advice on who to contact and where to look for inexpensive or donated iPads for our ELL program.

AnnaHi, have you looked at Donors Choose? I previously worked at a school and teachers were able to get a lot of technology donated through this program. You need to make a compelling case to attract donors and it may help to start small and work up to the full set of ipads you need/desire. E.g. you may want to ask for a device or to to start or even start by asking for donations other than ipads first to build up a history before asking for the ipads. Donors choose does have a price limit for first time requests to help prevent abuse of the program - I'm not sure what it is, but you'll have to look into that.
I'm not sure of your situtation, but high-needs and urban classrooms do tend to get the most donations.

My ICloud backup shows a huge amount of data stored, yet it is listed as incomplete backup. I am unable to access the backed up data. Is the data lost?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.Unfortunately, if an iCloud backup is incomplete you can't access any of the data in it. The only way to access anything in the backup is to restore the entire backup, which can't be done if it is incomplete.

You can cancel an iCloud storage upgrade but only within 15 days of buying:
Apple seem to have made this as difficult as possible. You may be able to do this using http://expresslane.apple.com - Click on 'More products and services', then 'iCloud', 'Account and setup' then 'This topic is not listed'. Explain the situation in the box provided and wait for a response - include a phone number. However you may find you cannot proceed without entering a hardware serial number which is still eligible for AppleCare.
In that event you will need to phone them directly, using the Apple Online Store number given at the bottom of this page. The first person you speak to may tell you to do it from the iCloud website but this is not possible. Politely insist on escalating the issue to a more senior person and eventually you should be able to get through to someone who can deal with this (you may have to wait for them to call you back) - you will be asked security questions and for part of your credit card number to identify yourself.
If it is more than 15 days since you purchased the storage you cannot cancel it for a refund; you can downgrade your plan as from your next renewal date. Please see

Similarly, I see three versions of Veetle. Disable the older ones if you don't need them.

Doubts about going back to Leopard because lion made the computer very slow
hi i bought a macbook pro on 2009 it came with leopard operating system. When lion came into the market i installed it but since then the computer is very slow.
I took it to an apple sotre and they told me that the memory was almost full so i bought an external hard drive where i have now all my music, photos and documents. But the computers is still very slow.

If you have no other problems and plenty of free HDD space? Then 2GB of RAM will feel real slow running multiple Apps in Lion or Mountian Lion and you should try upgrading the RAM 4GB or more before moving back to Snow Leopard.
