ICloud is a joke. Where is my camera roll?
iPhone 4s iCloud. How do I get my camera roll back. I backed it up because I had to replace it. Where us my stuff?
1) Are you referring to your iCloud email account? If so, is Fetch New Data set to Push?
2) Are the Unread messages in your InBox, or have you set rules to move them elsewhere? The badge only applies to unread messages in the InBox.
3) and 4) have nothing to do with iCloud.

im trying to free up space on my iCloud from pics i had on my camera roll that i dont need or want that did get backed up to my iCloud. i wasnt aware that pics stay there after i delete them from my camera roll. if thats correct.
You don't need to delete photos from your camera roll to save on backup sizes, you can turn individual items on and off for back up in your iCloud back up settings.
Apple States that the last 3 back ups are accessible, which means the photos from your back up may not be removed immediately.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

ICloud not restoring my photos in the camera roll. HELP ! :(
Apparently I had to reset my iphone but before doing this I checked if my back up was updated with icloud and IT WAS!
After sucessfully completing the reset process I found out that all my stuff is back (contacts, notes, reminders etc.) EXCEPT the photos in my camera roll.
The pictures and videos were important, their backup was only on icloud :/
Then I reset my phone a few times again, choosing different backups each time but nothing helped!
I also checked my storage and backup options in settings to make sure there was a backup of my photos and it said "178 MB" next to the camera roll which means I should be able to get my photos back but instead the camera roll is empty :(
Now, I've tried everything and have failed.
Please Help ! It would be really appreciated.Not sure if you still haven't fixed the problem by now. But the way I got round it was:
Going to the page where you can 'Erase all data and settings' etc (Settings>General>Reset)
And instead of pressing the button to erase literally everything, instead i pressed 'Reset AllSettings' instead, which takes you to the exact same Welcome setup thing (but the process is quicker coz it doesnt delete everything).
Then go through the steps as normal and try again, this time with a different restore point if you can.
Hopefully should do the trick.
I'm not sure if it worked becuase I used a different restore point, or becuase I Reset the settings and not everything. But it did the trick, and there all downloading now.

ICloud pictures not syncing - Shared streams will; camera roll will not

Ever since I got my new iPhone 5c my Camera Roll will not sync with my computer. The shared streams will sync, the pictures will sync with my other devices just not the computer.
I have tried untinstalling the icloud from the computer and reinstalling, I have signed out and back in on both the computer and iPhone, I just cant figure it out.
Has anyone else had this happen?
PLEASE HELP!!Similar issues, although maybe not quite as catastrophically bad. I've got a Mac Mini, an iMac, and an MBA, all running Yosemite, an iPhone 6, and an iPad 3 (both iOS devices are running iOS 8). The iOS devices seem to sync okay with changes made on the Mini, and vice versa, but the iMac doesn't seem to be syncing at all with the other devices, nor does the MBA. Based on the original post, I'm not going to bother calling Apple and spending an entire workday trying everything short of replacing the main logic board to try to figure out the problem.
What's particularly annoying is that Yosemite just went through an extended beta period. Unfortunately, there was no equivalent beta program for iOS 8, so there were probably plenty of areas where Apple simply did not do sufficient QC in an area where things need to work flawlessly: file management. Some of the files I keep on iCloud are hundreds of pages long, and the notion that they may become lost or corrupted gives me chills. Apple advertises iCloud Drive as a way to safely and reliably work on your files on multiple devices. So far, it is neither. -
Where are my Camera Roll pics n videos saved in iTunes(Laptop) when I backed up my iPhone to iTunes?
I backed up my iPhone today in order to save my Camera Roll pictures and videos safely in my Laptop and then I deleted them from my iPhone to make some free space.... And I want those pictures and videos in future back into my iPhone. So I know I must restore my iPhone from back up to get back the camera roll pics and vids. But what I want to know is, where are those pictures and videos saved in my Windows Laptop when I backed up my iPhone to iTunes today? There must be some folder of iTunes or somewhere in the iTunes software where they must be saved after backing up. I want to see them on my Laptop now but how can I do that?
I did not import them, I backed up my iPhone to my Laptop using iTunes.
I want to see those pictures on my Laptop since I deleted them from my iPhone after backing up. Where are they in my Laptop now???they are in the backup file that, sadly, is not accesible unless you restore it to a phone... if you want/need access to them, you should import them

Thanks. I understand the initial concept that pictures I take are not on my device but on the camera roll. Or in your language, they are on the device. But after talking with able it seems I can roll the pictures around, from all the strange places that pictures might be sent to and returned from, including to the camera roll. So at the moment i figure that it is a place where I can save pictures, return pictures, and save pictures. Not albums, not photo stream, not recently recovered, not recently downloaded, just llike a camera, but I understand that I can return pictures to the camera if I want to save them or show them to anyone if my device is off line. Thanks for trying to help. It's way beyond my ken.

Ios - 8 where are the 'camera roll' and 'photostream' albums?
I see the ios8 had done away with the "camera roll" and "photostream" albums and replace them with a "recently added" album. Is there any way to get this old functionality back?
All I want is one folder that contains all the photos on my device and another that contains the photos that I'm happy to share across my devices. I would have hoped I could have create some smart albums, but albums seem to have to be curated manually.
I know I can see all my photos with the photos tab, but there are two issue I have with this, #1 the "collections" interface is horrible – I just want a nice grid of photos like in albums – and #2 my photostream photos are merge within them.
I now have no way of telling if I'm deleting a photo from the phone or the photostream, for example when I'm trying to free up space on the phone.
Would turning on the "icloud photo library" feature help? I would rather not use that as I don't want it to waste all my icloud space.So, basically now... the gallaries are gonna be the same. Because if you delete one photo from the iphone, you also delete it from ipad and viceversa.
This is stupid because i want to keep some photos on the ipad, but don't wanna have them on the phone.
AM I FORCED TO HAVE IPAD AND IPHONE WITH THE SAME PHOTOS???

You have regular albums and shared album.
As long as you do not enable iCloud Photo Library Beta, your photos are stored only on the iPad, unless you add them to a shared album.
When you create an album in the "Albums" tab, with "tap , enter a name, then tap Save. Select photos and videos to add to the album, then tap Done", this album is local on the iPad or iPhone.
Only "Shared" albums are stored on all devices,
When you delete photos from the photo stream, the deleted photos are removed from My Photo Stream on all your devices, but the original photos remain in Photos on the device on which they were originally taken. Photos that you save to another album on a device or computer are also not deleted. -
Some pictures on my iphone 4s are not uploaded to Icloud and Photostream and stay in the camera roll
After taking pictures with my IPhone 4S the pictures are not uploaded from the camera roll to ICloud and my Ipad. The pictures do not show up in the the IPhone Photostream after taken. Any solutions?

I have experienced a similar issue.
Normally all photos from iPhone or iPad correctly push to photostream and it works.
But on a recent travel the photostream pushing seemed "spotty" and some random pictures taken with iPhone were/are not pushed to photostream. On the destination there was a (slow) wifi connection, might have something to do with it - but even after getting home to my faster wifi connection the remaining photos in my camera roll are still not pushed to photostream from the iPhone.
The missing photos not being pushed from the iPhone to photostream are random in timeline ("spotty" pushing).
Any ideas on why this happens?
I guess after connecting the iPhone to my Mac the entire camera roll will load into iPhoto, and iPhoto on Mac will do the remaining "pushing" to photostream; will have to wait and see.
But this issue purely is about incomplete pushing from iPhone camera roll to photostream. -
I recently picked up a new iPhone6. Before i handed in my old phone(iphone5), I backed it up using iCloud.
Now I can't seem to get the photos from my old camera roll onto my new phone or my Mac. Did I lose all
the photos from my old phone?1. Create a backup of your iPad to iTunes on your computer or to iCloud
2. Transfer any and all photos & videos on your iPad to your computer.
3. Erase the iPad and restore the iPhone's iCloud backup to the device.
4. Transfer any and all photos & videos on your iPad to your computer.
5. Restore the iPad backup you reated in step #1 back to the iPad. -
ICloud storage and camera roll
I have received a notification saying my iCloud is almost full, it shows my camera roll at 4.6GB so I went through and deleted around half of my photos and videos (I had around 1350 and now have 652) yet it still shows camera roll at 4.6GB, anyone know why this is?

Where are you looking for the Camera Roll storage? If you have deleted pictures from the device, you will see this in the next iCloud backup. If you want, open Settings > iCloud > Storage and Backup, and start a backup. This will remove the photos you deleted -
Why is my iCloud backup for photos 3.3 Gbs but I only have 12 photos in my camera roll?
After purchasing my iPhone 4S I performed a restore from backup that I had from my iPhone 4 (running iOS 4.3.5). Prior to doing this restore, I did not realize that my photos were not being synchronized from my iOS device and saved in that backup. So, the hundreds of photos I had on my iPhone 4 were lost in the transfer to my 4S; but then I noticed something odd. Upon closer inspection of my iCloud backup, my storage usage says my camera roll is taking up 3.3 Gbs of my backup! When I did the backup, I had only taken about 12 pictures on my 4S, there was absolutely no way those photos were taking up 3.3 Gbs of space. I was hoping that after synchronizing with iCloud that I would see all my old photos slowly pour in from the Photo Stream; but to no avail.
Is it possible that my iPhone 4 photos were in fact carried with that restore from backup, but are not showing up in my camera roll? If so, how do I retrieve my photos? So many lost memories!That's odd. I can't imagine what else would take up so much space.
Have you any other Apps that have downloaded data
.. appdata and settings of apps, "preferences", saved games "levels reached" , and downlaoded stuff that are stored within an app ", for example videodownloading app that has stored content in the iOS are uploaded ..
Apps themself /Books/Music/etc are not uploaded to your personal cloud, they are held back by Apple in the store for future re-downloading options. So this can't also be the culprit. -
I3 os4 - i4s os5 Albums gone - Cam roll missing photos

THE StORY:
3G phone-------------
Spent hours sorting 4000 pics on 3G os4 ready for 4s os5 upgrade.
- created 9 albums from pics on camera roll
- Noticed photo library gets larger as I do this.
- on iPhone, manually delete photos in Cam Roll to avoid copies in 3 places (goal: Present only in Photo Library and Albums since these are linked by design. Who wants a bunch of dup pics, crikey. 1 less is still better right?
- in iTunes, (based on genius direction) right click phone icon, create backup. (the theory was a snapshot of current phones state before upgrade to 4s)
- synced phone - (had some app upgrades/pics to account for)
Q?. How do I know if pics are getting backed up some place when doing a sync?

- complete restore. Phone restarts. Run through setup. Complete. Use phone! Yay!

Hi can you help... I've backed my phone up to I cloud and I have 27 photos on my photo stream and 300 on my camera roll. If I restore my phone will I get back all my photos from iCloud??
An icloud backup will back up only the camera roll photos (assuming you have turned this on). When doing a restore, those photos should come back. Note that when restoring, the photo stream photos are refreshed from the PS server and thus only up to 30 days' worth of photos will come back to the photo stream on the device.
HOWEVER, it is always advised that photos be synced to a computer for archiving. Never rely on just icloud, as too many users have ended up losing their photos when doing a restore, for whatever reasons. -

You cannot see photos backed up in iCloud on your computer.
Camera Roll photos backed up to iCloud are still in your Camera Roll on your iPhone.
You need to regularly sync the photos to your computer. (then you can see them on your computer).
