ICloud is not working in iphoto, iCloud is not working in iphoto

I am having difficulties with installing iCloud 9.5.1. on my iMac from 2007. I have updated all operating systems, but still iPhoto is not working properly. The main reason why I wanted to upgrade from iPhoto '08 to iPhoto 9.5 is the iCloud feature. So all my pictures taken with my iPhone are synced to my iMac. Here lies the problem, I cannot check the iCloud box in the preferences of the installed iPhoto 9.5.1 Neither can I check the option to use iCloud under the iCloud tab in the iPhoto overview.
I have reinstalled iPhoto several times, cleaned it from the OS via CleanMyMac, but still is not working.
I used to use an WD external harddrive as my library, but not anymore. Maybe there is still a hidden path somewhere in my computer referring to that old location? I have made a new local library on my iMac, but also this did not resolve the problem.
I can import pictures from a local folder, or iPhone to the newly installed iPhoto. Although this takes quite some time, this part of the program seems to work.
Anybody some good advice? I don't know anymore where to find the problem.

You do no say how the System Preferences "iCloud" options are set.
Have you clicked the "Options" button besides Photos in the System Preferences iCloud and enabled "My Photo Stream"?
You have upgraded to MacOS X 10.9.3, if you are using iPhoto 9.5.1, right?

2 iCloud iPhone accounts to 1 iPhoto photostream library not possible?
I feel I'm not getting the full iCloud photostreaming experience i should be. My spouse and I have our iphone 5's. We have a shared iTunes account which is perfect for us (we have the same calendar and contacts and events, music etc).
But, we each have our own iCloud account so that the "find my iphone" feature works properly and points to each of our separate iphones.
But when we turn on PHOTOSTREAM on each of our iphones (or iClouds accounts if you will) how do i get each of our Photostreams to download by wifi, automatically, onto our iMac's iPhoto?
We LOVE iPhoto on our iMac. We download all our DSLR pics to it, make albums & slide shows etc... BUT>>> it seems that I can only turn on 1 iCloud account on my iMac and that means only 1 of us gets thier iPhone pics to photostream onto iPhoto so we can show them and enjoy them from iPhoto.
I know that we can always connect our iphones and 'sync' in iTunes and move our photos over manually, but I'm hoping we both can Photostream from our respective iClouds and view-play-edit our photos together in iPhoto. We have NO interest in sharing each others photostream (a feature in iCloud) and viewing each others pics on our iphones, we really want to view them on our iMac (and stream slide shows to our tv via AppleTV) so I don't see how photostream sharing is a solution. What am I missing?There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so each iPod is updated with only certain playlists within one library. I have a Macbook and iPhone and like to back up to iCloud. However, my work computer runs Outlook 2003, which I know will not work with the iCloud. The company has no plans to update anytime soon. Since the calendar and contact list on my office computer are my primay ones, I hard sync through iTunes. The problem is that any data synced from Outlook 2003 to the iPhone from iTunes does NOT later backup to iCloud. Is there a solution?
I have the same problem with Outlook 2003 and Win XP which the multinational organisation I work for standardises on and will probably stay with forever!

Last weekend I went to the Apple store to replace my phone because the WiFi on my phone is nonfunctional. I need to back up to iCloud before I can replace my phone because I have information on there that needs to be saved. The worker at the Apple store said that, since I cannot connect to WiFi, I needed to plug my phone into my computer in order to back up. I went into iTunes and turned iCloud on, but my phone still will not back up to iCloud. So, I need to know exactly how to back up my iPhone to iCloud without WiFi?

Unfortunately, you can't restore an iCloud backup without using wifi so that isn't an option. -
I have a iphone 5 and I can login with my apple id to purchase music. However, when I try to login into icloud using the very same username and password that I use in the apple store it does not work to enter icloud, so what what gives???
I could do that, however when I select the icloud button (or whatever the heck it is) I am asked to enter the apple id and password. So if you are suppose to create another one for icloud you'd think it would give you the option at this point which would be logical.

FinnYou would have to change it back to your old email address in order to turn off "Find My iPhone" on your devices. After you changed it back to your old address and deactivated "Find My iPhone" (activation lock) you could change your Apple ID to your new address again. Now it should wok on all your devices.

I have just received a new iphone 5s and need to set the Apple ID with my work email. I used my work email on my personal iphone 4s to set up an icloud account and it will not let me use this email as the Apple ID on my new iphone. As it is a work phone I need to use this email address as my Apple ID. How do I do this?
when you open the app store scroll down to the bottom it will display the apple id currently in use, change it to your normal apple id email

Sorry to hear about your troubles with your PC. If you are not seeing your iPhone on your computer, then take a look at the link below to walk you through getting that working again. I accidentally deleted a video from my iPhone 4s. I believe I am using IOS 7. As soon as I realised my mistake, I switched off my wifi connection, data roaming, etc, to ensure that no new data can enter the phone. I have not taken any more photos or videos since the incident. I have kept my iPhone switched on since the incident. I had not backed up to iCloud or iTunes or iPhotos.
Any advice? ThanksIf it is not on PhotoStream and you did not backup, it is gone.

At the moment I can use my apple Id on my iPod touch to connect to iCloud and IMessage and FaceTime but it doesn't work on App Store & iTunes just on iPod Face to an error: can not connect to iTunes Store. KenWe previously had a similar issue when migrating multiple accounts from MobileMe to iCloud. The issue was resolved by disabling and then enabling iCal sync through iCloud on our iMacs in System Preferences.
Always backup your calendar before troubleshooting (File > Export > iCal Archive).
The following steps are roughly from a Apple Support Community discussion.
Open iCloud in System Preferences.
Switch off (uncheck) iCal sync in iCloud System Preferences pane.
Backup iCal before doing this. You will need to remove calendar data.
Open iCal and verify the iCloud account is removed in the iCal preferences under accounts.
Close iCal, reopen System Preference and switch on (check) iCal sync in iCloud System Preferences pane.
Reopen iCal and verify the iCloud account is enabled in the iCal preferences under accounts.
At this point if the problem persists you might try completely signing out of iCloud and then signing back in. But remember to backup all related data (iCal, Contacts, Mail, Photostream, etc) before turning off iCloud sync! -

Exactly which password are you inputting? iCloud looks for your AppleID password.

My phone was run over. It still works enough to see some of the screen but not the number pad. I cannot unlock the phone because I activated find my iphone. How can I unlock the phone so I can save my photos? Is there a way to unlock it from find my iphone. It was not backed up in iCloud. Now I have a few more questions: If I mail my broken iPhone to Asurion, will I be able to get my data off of my iPhone once Asurion has it? And what will happen to my old iPhone and the data on it if I activate my replacement iPhone? Will my broken iPhone just become de-activated and will the data be erased or lost or something? Could I still sync it (with the computer ir originally synced with) and back up the data?
