ICloud is stuck with UNKNOWN AppleID --

From an iCloud FAQ -- I need to Quote the Following --
"You'll get all the benefits of iCloud whether you use the same Apple ID for iCloud and Store purchases, or different IDs for each. To change the Apple ID signed in to iCloud or iTunes on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, sign out and use the steps below to sign back in with the updated Apple ID."
The Above procedure Still Needs the OLD AppleID to be used to first sign to the iPad -- The problem I have NOW since
I updated the Main AppleID itself, with both change of ID email address + Change in Password ....
BUT --
The iCloud still keeps throwing Pop-Ups with the OLD AppleID and also does NOT recognise either the OLD Password OR NEW Password !!!
Somewhere here the iCloud AppleID seems to have gotten Messed UP -- I even tried the Route of "Forgotten Password" and Try to RESET
the iCloud Password -- but the Email Link is not arriving at the Email which was the OLD AppleID -- I have tried a few times, looked in the SPAM
folder etc ... Nothing even in the NEW AppleID email address ... so this new Link Sending Email Address has also got tampered with --
I even tried "finding the AppleID" and that returns the message NO AppleID Found !! -- Does NOT recognise the OLD iCloud AppleID Email --
BTW it is quite an OLD Email address, during the time when you could assign a different Text string for the AppleID and it was not
necessary to use the Email Address as the AppleID !!

You can eirther I think go on ITunes or if you can get to settings you would just go to iCloud.

  • Can I DELETE an iCloud account associated with my AppleID?

    I have two AppleIDs - one that my wife and I share for purchases (apple ID is a gmail address) and one that I now use for all iCloud activities (@me.com).  I accidentally created an iCloud account while signed in using our shared AppleID and now want to delete that iCloud account to free up the @me.com address to use as an alias on my own @me.com AppleID.  Is it possible to delete iCloud accounts?  Any way to free up that email address I accidentally created under the wrong ID for use on the other account? 

    I'm in the same situation.  I went from MobileMe to iCloud, and when I tried to use my MobileMe sign in, I got the messge that the username and email address was already in use.  I created another one, and had two.  I called Apple Support, and they told me that I had to keep both accounts.  I had yet ANOTHER account for my iTunes, and Support told me that it was ok, if not good, to have separate logins for iTunes and iCloud. Currently, I have THREE iCloud accounts.  If I have my iCloud settings on my phone set to "Mail - ON" my calendars sync up, but I can't receive email from my email account that I use for business.  When I turn Mail off, I can receive emails, but my calendars are empty on the iPhone.  The calendars on my Mac are there, but everything is duplicated at least once.  Quite a mess on both the phone and Mac.  Not a happy camper with iCloud...

    Hi ccharat,
    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you did a good job editing your Apple ID and primary email address, but you didn’t sign out of iCloud on your iOS device before hand. What you may need to do in this situation is go back to the Apple ID website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the email address that is signed in with iCloud (there is no need to verify the account after editing it back to the old account, just changing it back is enough). Once your Apple ID is back to the original account, delete the iCloud account from the iOS device and be sure to keep all info on the device when prompted. After you delete the iCloud account, go back to the website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the new address. Once it is back to the account you would like, you can sign into the iCloud on the iOS device with that new account and merge all of the data when prompted. Please use the following article as a reference.

    If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
    Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
    Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
    Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
    Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
    Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

    You can eirther I think go on ITunes or if you can get to settings you would just go to iCloud.

    Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

    Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
    Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
    Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

    "This iPad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks.  Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to WiFi"  I click OK and nothing happens.  I cannot power down the device either.  I can't get away from the pop up to connect it to a new wifi connection because I'm on vacation and there is no apple support.  Someone please help!?!?!

    See if you can quit all apps and then restart the iPad.
    In order to quit or close apps - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    If that doesn't work, reset the iPad.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    After restarting or resetting - - go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>iCloud Backup>On - then tap Back up Now to backup the iPad to iCloud.

    Thank you for the question.  It sounds like you have an Apple ID that is not yet an iCloud account.  You can establish your Apple ID as an iCloud account on an iOS device with iOS 5 or later or a Mac with OS X Lion or later:

    You can sign up for iCloud on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later, or through System Preferences on a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later. Just follow the setup instructions for your iOS device or Mac.

    Skip the iCloud sign in for now.
    Once you reach the home page, go to settings and sign out of FaceTime and Messages.  This should also sign you out of iCloud.
    Go to iCloud in settings and sign in with the correct Apple ID.
    If that does not work
    Skip the iCloud sign in
    Go to Apple ID.apple.com and sign in
    Change your Apple ID to the old one
    Delete iCloud account on your device with the old Apple ID and the same password.
    Go back to the website, change your Apple ID back to the current one. You will receive an email to verify the account. Verify first.
    Sign into iCloud on your device with the correct Apple ID and password

    You are getting this message because you are trying to create an iCloud account on a PC by signing with your Apple ID.  You can only sign into an existing iCloud account on a PC.  You first have to create your iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.
