Icloud keeps inserting fake calendar events and fake contacts - looks like test data
In the last few days, meetings for someone in Palo Alto and contacts with fake data [ (555) 555-xxxx ] have been showing up on my wife's iPhone. It looks like Apple test data.
Any ideas??
Are you sure no one else is using the same iCloud account? That would account for it (no pun intended).

I just synced my iPhone on iCloud and it deleted all of my calendar events and isn't even showing up on the iCloud website. Is there a way to get all of those events back?
I've had the same problem, synced yesterday and I've lost all my events in my calendar. Restored my phone,not worked, deleted icloud that hasnot worked,nothing is coming up at all on icloud calendar, and my mac was backed up when I plugged in today so not backed up on that. Someone please help, can I get them back? my life was on that calendar.

What is the SAFEST SEQUENCE to convert from a Outlook/iPad/iPhone synced with MobileMe to syncing with iCloud (I have 10 years of calendar diary events and 3000 contacts) - I am worried about the data issues that have been posted about iCloud.
This has worked fine with MobileMe with only a couple of minor glitches in the past.
Any experience doing this the "right" way?The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.

My iphone just deleted all of my future calendar events and icloud and any other method has failed to bring them back...any help would be great!
Have you checked that all of the calendars were checked, so they displayed? In the Calendar app, select "Calendars" at the bottom and make sure they are all checked. In the IOS Settings, make sure the right accounts are there.

iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar - Apple Support describes, among others, how to make copies of your calendar data. After completing a backup of your calendar data:
1. Open the Calendars Folder in your ~Library Folder, and move any any files with "Cache" listed in the name field to your Desktop.
2. Open the Preferences Folder in the ~Library Folder and move the com.apple.iCal.plist file to the Desktop.
3. Log out/in or restart and open Calendar.
If those three steps not successful, go back to iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar - Apple Support and follow the appropriate steps in order. -
Restored iPod lost my notes, calendar events, and memos
I backed my iPod up to iTunes and then I restored my iPod touch 5...after it was finished I tried putting my data all back on but a lot of the data wasn't there. The only thing there was my contacts. I also backed everything up to iCloud too before I restored my iPod. How can I get my notes, calendar events, and my memos back? Please help me I really need the notes I had
Restore from backup. That is all you can do. Make sure y look at the date of the backup to see if the media would be in the backup. Maybe you overwrote the backup that contained the data when/if you backed up after the info was deleted form the iPod.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Double Calendar events and notifications
Hello everyone,
I am getting double Calendar events and notifications, that is, instead of getting and seeing one notification/calendar event, I get two of the same one.
Yesterday I was setting up iCloud so it may have something to do with that but I don't know what.
Also, in my Calendar Settings, I have the same calendars listed ( Work, Home, Personal, etc) under "From my Mac" and the another under iCloud.
This might have something to do with it too ...
But I still don't know what I need to do in order to stop getting double notifications and alerts.
Any ideas, suggestions??

Of course it's related to the bug you described (I've encountered it too).
But regarding my initial problem as in header of topic - I'm pretty sure it does exist.
I deleted ALL entries in my Nokia calendar and have been ultimately suprized to hear reminder popping up. I even searched through calendar and alarms to see if anything left by chance. In the calendar settings on your mobile, uncheck anything "from my mac" that is already syncing to iCloud. By syncing directly b/w your iCal and mobile and then also displaying the iCloud calendars, you get doubles. Also, in iTunes disable syncing of your calendars. iCloud will take care of it.

I think my wife had an old apple ID on the phone and never backs up her device. She lost all contacts and calendar events. any help?It would default to whatever account you have set for default. If you were using Exchange, it would sync to that. However, the settings for syncing are set up in iTunes. You would need to check to see what settings were in iTunes for syncing the information. It could be a supported application on the computer, or a cloud service as I said earlier.
On my personal phone, it will default to my iPhone calendar which I sync with Outlook on my computer. I can select the Exchange account if I want, but my default is what I sync with Outlook. -
All calendar events and notes gone

The only calendar listed is "birthdays," which appeared a while ago after I had downloaded the Facebook app and had all the birthdays of my Facebook friends. I never even wanted that calendar, so I had deselected it and had all my events on a different calendar. The other calendar is gone altogether and even the birthday one is blank. All of my notes are gone, too, and the books in my iBooks library all say cannot find the source. This is all since I installed the latest ios update. :/

How can I fake my FROM email address to look like I'm sending it from work?
I want to not have to log into my work webmail everyday and I want to just use MobileMe. I have all my work mail forwarded to MobileMe. The problem is that I don't want to ever have to log into work mail to send a message. How can I fake my from email address to look like I'm sending it from work?
You can't do that with MobileMe. MobileMe's mail servers will only accept senders from their own domains (@mac.com and @me.com). No other senders, not even from configured personal domains, will be accepted.
You will either have to use your companies SMTP server or, if not public available, your companies webmail. -

I had fits with the last link I posted. At first it worked fine, then all of a sudden, it quit working. I now have iCloud - iCal syncing, but iCal is read only. Not a real big deal since you can log onto iCloud using Safari and post a new event.
I finally gave up on Address Book because it kept creating multiple contacts, which if you tried to merge or delete the multiple contacts, the contacts were deleted. It also worked at first and then stopped working as it should. -

Jim and Rob, thank you for taking your time to respond. I have a mac & a pc with 4 gigs of RAM in each. I originally experienced the problem on my mac and afterwards the same thing happened on the pc. I shoot with a canon 5d mark iii and never had this problem before, but what I'm realizing is that I'm running out of space on both the mac & the pc. After an afternoon of shooting today, I filled up a 32-gig card, so my TB hard drives are filling up ridiculously fast. I need to drop some load off both drives and reboot. Hope this will resolve the issue as I really don't think it's a canon-LR problem (I'm using the most updated 5.6 version). Again, thanks for your input. I'll keep you posted.

A series of video files (0001.MTS to 0005.MTS) were imported into premiere, when moved to timeline premiere combined them and made them look like one long clip named 0001.MTS. Multiple motion edits and opacity edits were made. When project manager moved the project, the actual video content of 0002.MTS to 0005.MTS was missing(source clips are still there but they were playing and working as part of that 0001.MTS timeline clip before). Those parts of the 0001.MTS clip in the timeline were Danger Striped and can be relinked but now have no edits anymore. The edits are apparently only linked with the original 0001.MTS source clip but extend beyond the actual range of the actual source clip. At the time I thought it was weird that premiere displayed the whole string of clips as one (with one name and no breaks) but it all works in the original project file but cannot be transferred to another location without multiple clips showing Danger Stripes.I need to move it and preserve the dozens of motion and opacity edits linked to the apparently oversized timeline clip. HELP!! any ideas?

Yes of course its Photoshop. Cut the person out copy to clipboard paste onto toe brick wall document and texture the layer using a displacement map for the brick wall. Look for Photoshop tutorials on using a displacement map.
