Icloud keeps requesting password on my phone

hi, i had to change my primary email address from hotmail to outlook and i did that on icloud online however my iphone keeps requesting my password but with my old email address. please help! this has been going on for months and i can't change it on my phone. i already changed it online on my icloud. also i can't revert to my old email address because that is now used as security back up. total catch22.

You probably have a mobile me account set up without using mobile me in the mail, contacts, calendar settings. See if you have another email account set up using the mobile me settings.

Absolutely exasperating.
On iPhone 5, since a week iCloud keeps asking passwords, and telling me password is incorrrect.
Then, it says account is unavailable. Then it says it cannot retrieve mail.
On Macs, all accounts perform flawlessly.
But, previously, I had a problem with password since many weeks being not recognized by iCloud even from Macs.
Passwords ARE correct.
I tried everything (close iCloud, suppressing/recreating account, reinitializing password, reinitializing iPhone,
reinstalling iOS, etc.).
I saw many threads related, since a year or so, and no apparent solution.
Apple is not often annoying, but here they really need to clean their act with this.

If you've restored the iPhone to factory settings without a backup, re-added the iCloud account on the device and still have those issues, I'd recommend you call AppleCare

Not unless you placed a lost device in Lost Mode and it is detected as being online. If so, it will show its current and previous locations on a map as shown at the bottom of this article: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f0165.

Can I use the same icloud username and password for multiple phones?

I have 6 iphones and wanted to use Apple Configurator to install the same apps on all 6 phones. Some of the apps though, also require further installation by email. Can I use the same iCloud username and password for all 6 phones to download the apps and also to configure email or do I need to create 6 different Apple IDs?

If different people will be using these phones, you might be better off using the same Apple ID for the iTunes content...apps, music, etc. on each of these devices, but create different ID's for iCloud on each device. You can use one ID for the iTunes/App store, & a different ID for iCloud. That way, messages, notes, contacts, calendars, etc will be kept separate on each device.

But seriously, have you recently changed your password? Here's a test: using a computer's browser, try to log into icloud.com. If you can't, then you are using the wrong password. If you can, then be sure that the password that's entered in Settings>iCloud is correct.

Reset ipad2, now keep getting iCloud box requesting password--but won't accept! How to solve?

I have an ipad2 that was displaying about 20 greyed out app icons. It took awhile (and User Manual was no help), but I finally concluded that these apps could not update--which was why I woulld see the caption change to "Waiting" under them when pressed. Thought I should try to Reset all settings (not data) under the General tab, see if that would allow them to update. Seemed to work, since all greyed icons disappeared. But next time I turned on the iPad, I got an iCloud box, showing my email, asking for Apple password. Typed it in, and it would not accept. After several tries, got a "If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it" message, with "Reset" and "Okay" choices. NEITHER worked. Nor would trying to enter about a dozen other passwords that I commonly use. Finally went to support, changed my password--which works on this Compaq laptop, and got me into this account. But the new password also will not work for iCloud. Nothing I can do seems to have any effect on the iPad, but when the cable is connected to this laptop, I do get the two-tone sound indicating plug in, disconnect. Does ANYone have any suggestions as to how I can get rid of this idiotic iCloud message? (If so, I will probably take the app OFF my iPad, just use it for Android phone, laptop, and desktop. This is RIDICULOUS--and Apple should be addressing it. (I seem to see other questions that are sort of the same.)

There isn''t a "key" for "I forgot the password" to your wifi. If you didn't set the wifi password on your router, it may be printed on a label on the back or side of your router.
If you are entering the correct password, but it is not being saved, unplug your router for 15 seconds, then plug it back in, the on your phone go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Reset Network Settings, then try joining your wifi again and see if the password is saved now.

My phone is lost – not stolen, and may still be returned. Not long after I lost it, it was switched off, or died (it was at about 6%), so I can't find it using Find My iPhone. when you change your Apple iD it's pretty much changing the visual email, i guess that doesn't really answer your question, yes you keep your purchases, it just changes the log-in email and email where newsletters , etc. go to.

Why does iCloud keep demanding password when using mail

I am using Mail for my various email accounts but the two imap accounts (AOL and iCloud) frequently get into a mode of demanding the password when Mail is launched. It might take up to 10 inputs to stop 'looping' the demand for the password. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I occasionally get a request to verify my account, but it usually occurs after the computer wakes up from sleep. And it is very very rare.

Changed Apple ID email, iCloud keeps asking password for old email

I recently lost my iPod touch that didn't have a password on it, so I changed passwords of everything I had on the iPod. Just to be more secure, I changed my Apple ID to a new email address too. The problem is now iCloud on my iPhone keeps asking me to enter my password but it keeps prompting the old ID instead of the new one. And of course when I entered the password (both the new one and the old one), it said wrong password or username. I went to iCloud in Settings but the email address is greyed out so I guess I can't change it.
Does anyone know how do fix this?
PS: I was able to manually change the ID for Apple Store but not with iCloud.

Check this iCloud FAQ support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4436, however I don't think you can just change the email for the iCloud ID. I believe you have to delete the current account and create a new one.

ICloud ID and Password corruped on iPhone 5

I am unable to update my iPhone 5 for my iCloud account. I update the ID and Password thru my Windows PC for my iCloud account but my iphone still shows my old ID and Password which causes an incorrect Cloud on my iPhone.

To change the iCloud ID and password on your phone you first need to go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. The will only delete the account from the phone, not from iCloud. It will also delete any data you are syncing with this iCloud account from the phone but the data will remain in iCloud. After deleting the account you will be able to set up the correct account with the correct ID and the data will be synced to your phone when you sign in.

Well I am feeling a bit silly now because that was all I had to do. In the past Workgroup Manager had always opened right up to the list of my users, I never even thought to click on that but apparently that was all that was needed.
I still am not sure how the iChat Server preferences changed themselves on me, but it is not the first time I have had weird "settings" issues with our Snow Leopard Server.

Sounds like someone else used the phone. You won't be able to use that phone until and unless the previous owner either gives you the passcode, or removes that device from Find my Phone from their iCloud account.

New iPhones don't come setup with an Apple ID/Password. What you're experiencing is called Activation Lock, & unless you know the original Apple ID/Password that was originally used to first activate this phone, you won't be able to reactivate it.
You can login to iCloud.com, from any computer, use Find My Phone to locate & erase the phone. But, you'll still need to know the original Apple ID/Password to reactivate it.

Family share approval keeps requesting icloud password

I have Family Sharing set to require my approval when my daughter buys something from the store. Today when I try to approve items it keeps asking me to input my icloud password.

When I put it in, the same dialogue box just reopens with no error message. Today she bought 3 songs. This issue arose and I tried to input my password to no success. I then went to Settings/iCloud and it asked for my Password and there it took. So I went back to the Family Share notifications and 2 went through but when I tried to approve the third it asked for the password again. I tried going back to the iCLoud settings but it doesn't ask for my password. I then actually reset my password to something new but that didn't help either.

Thanks. I did not sign out but as I mentioned I did reset the password. Signing out deletes everything from the device so I held off. It turns out that these folks tried it last fall when it hapened to them and it didn't work:

It also happens that the same thing is happening on my imac, so it's probably not a hardware issue.
