ICloud Keychain setup failing despite entering correct verification code

I just installed Yosemite and I'm having trouble setting up iCloud keychain. I've done this about 7 times now and its not working. I go to set up iCloud Keycain (in iCoud prefs pane) i enter my Apple account password, then my 4 digit pin code, then i get an sms with verification code, i enter it in the dialog and it says the code is incorrect and now I've entered it too many times so now it says I must verify through Apple support. It was the same thing when I tried setting it up during Yosemite installation.
Anyone else having this problem?

As regardss to the iChat and iChat Sharing categorisation you have used.
In iChat 6 (lion) and Messages (Mountain Lion) the apps login to AIM and to Me.com
The Login to Me.com allows AIM to verify the password to the iCloud issued names (@me.com and @iCloud.com)
This "Dual" login also prevents the newer iCloud issued name from using this site
(it has extra Privacy settings that iChat can't access for your AIM and Aim valid Accounts)
Ignoring the @mac.com and MobileMe entries in the Add Account Screen in iChat and using the AIM one does not get around this issue.
AIM and @mac.com names still work in older versions of iChat.
The short answer is that iCloud issued Apple IDs do not work in iChat 5 or Earlier.

Icloud keychain setup does not terminate during mac oxs mavericks update

The icloud keychain setup does not terminate (in order for the install to continue) during a mac OSX maverick update from 10.8.something. Any idea?

I found the solution!
Open Calendar on your Mac.
In the left column list of calendars, right click on the calendar in question and "Get Info"
Check the box labeled "Ignore alerts"
Hit "OK"

I have iphone 5 with ios 8.1, I change my number and when I want to set up my iCloud keychain code, the verification code sent to old number that does not exist anymore .How can I setup my apple I.D. with new number to let apple sent me the verification code to my new number? Thanks

Cannot access keychain. Passwords are all correct, "security code" sent to old cellphone number. Impossible to contact apple support.

I've been trying to access my iCloud's keychain for weeks now. Updating Yosemite somehow made my 13'' Macbook pro "log off" from the keychain and when I try to reconnect to the keychain, I am asked my iCloud password and then my security code, which I both enter successfully.
Then I am unexplainably asked to enter a "security code" sent to an old cellphone number of mine that is now deactivated. I click on "I don't have access to this number" and I am redirected to Apple's confusing silly-willy contact support website and find out that, since I am in China, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY for me to contact support.
Bottom line is, even though I have FULL CREDENTIALS to access the entirety of my iCloud's features(my passwords are all correct!!), I am stuck trying to access my keychain because of an unreasonable unsolicited and unwanted "security" measure, combined with a NON-EXISTING costumer support for China.
Apple is such a huge waste of time, I own an iPhone, a Macbook pro and a magic mouse, but one thing I'm sure of is, I will never ever buy anything else from this company again, because it just PRETENDS to sell the "perfect costumer experience".

Can't activate iCloud Keychain - Didn't received any sms activation code

I can't activate iCloud Keychain either on my MBP or my iPhone. Only option I have is to activate via SMS since non of my devices has, at this point, activated iCloud Keychain.
My phone number is the right one.
I've tried to activate it multiple times in multiple days, but I didn't received any sms with that activation code.
The steps I've take so far:
I've clicked "use Code"
that will be the final step, to insert the verification code but that code has never arrived.

You can try calling Apple first, instead of resetting your keychain. But you really need to export your passwords. iCloud Keychain is very convenient, but not safe.

I updated my i pad to iOS5 and chose the same passcode as the one I was using before updating, when I was prompted. Now when I am trying to use teh passcode I get the message 'wrong passcode' and after 3 failed attempts the i pad keeps getting locked out. I have synchronised it to my computer. Should I try to restore it to factory setting after backing up data and try again? Any suggestion will be most welcome

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

ICloud Keychain verification

Hi all, wondering if anyone can shed a little light on this. I received 3 sms to my land line today from 51472 saying "your iCloud Keychain verification code is" each message had a different code and all the messages occurred in about 15 mins. I am very suspicious about this as I don't have Keychain turned on and never have.

If you have iCloud Keychain set up on another device, you can update your SMS number via that other device in order to verify your new device. If you do not have another device available or you do not have an SMS capable number, you will need to contact Apple for identity verification in order to bypass that phone number authentication. I recently had my iPhone replaced. During the setup, i got a text with an iCloud keychain verification code, but I cannot see where I use this code (I presume to unlock all the passwords the keychain contains).

It seems like one of these in the link I provided answers your question:
How do I set up iCloud Keychain on a new device if I don't have one of my other devices to approve from?
If you don't have access to any of your other devices that are using iCloud Keychain, you can still set up iCloud Keychain on another device if you have these items:
Your iCloud Security Code
The device that is using the SMS-capable phone number you provided when you first set up iCloud Keychain. A verification code is sent via SMS to this phone number. If you don't have access to this number, contact Apple Support, who can verify your identity so that you can complete setup on your new device.
If you have these items, follow the iCloud Keychain setup steps documented above. Your iCloud Keychain will then be pushed from the cloud to the new device.
Can Apple recover my iCloud Security Code?
No. If you enter your iCloud Security Code incorrectly too many times, you won't be able to use that iCloud Keychain. You can contact Apple Support, who can help verify your identity so that you can try again to enter your iCloud Security Code. After a number of incorrect attempts, your iCloud Keychain is removed from Apple's servers and you will need to set up iCloud Keychain again.
