ICloud Keychain verification
Hi all, wondering if anyone can shed a little light on this. I received 3 sms to my land line today from 51472 saying "your iCloud Keychain verification code is" each message had a different code and all the messages occurred in about 15 mins. I am very suspicious about this as I don't have Keychain turned on and never have.

I'm not receiving the verification code via SMS.
Make sure that you have a strong cellular network connection on your phone.
Make sure that your phone number can receive SMS messages. You can do this by asking someone to send you a text message.
Make sure that the correct phone number is associated with your account:
In iOS 8, tap Settings > iCloud > Keychain > Advanced. In iOS 7, tap Settings > iCloud > Account > Keychain. Make sure the phone number under Verification Number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
In OS X Mavericks v10.9, choose Apple () > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account Details. Make sure the phone number under Verification number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.

I received a text today while at work about iCloud keychain verification code. I have not signed up for it or anything that uses it. I work out of the city with limited internet access so not sure why I would be getting this. I only got this number about a month ago. Apparently someone else had the number before because I get texts from his family members wondering whats going on. I got one yesterday and the person didn't seem to thrilled that the number was cutoff and today I got 2 texts about iCloud Keychain which I don't even know what it is. Seems suspicious to me. If the person who use to own the number is doing it he should know it is not his number anymore because he obviously didn't pay his bills. I'm not too sure about iCloud Keychain so just want to know my info safe?? It says it can store credit card numbers which is what gets me worried. Frankly I think it's pretty stupid to save that kind if information with any kind of app. But I don't want some random person trying to access my personal information because they are bitter they lost their number. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can change passwords or anything that is needed.
thanksIf it were me, I would go to my carrier and get a new number. Since you have only had it for a month, the inconvenience would be minimal.

ICloud Keychain verification codes
How do I stop getting iCloud Keychain verification codes via text
Okay, for all of you following this or experiencing the problem - here's the trick - give up on iCloud entirely - disconnect everything from it and whatever iCloud thinks it has on you will disappear - keep in mind that this will not blow-out or delete any keychain entries on your local machines - those are sacrosanct and will remain - each machine is/was/remains an island without iCloud - but it's likely (in my case) and maybe in many of yours that iCloud thinks it has important stuff in it - but it just might be wrong.
In my case, I disconnected my iPad, iPhone, MBA and iMac and followed the process to blow out the entire online keychain and any documents out in the cloud - I didn't have much of anything and I lost no files either.
Once all that was done, I started iCloud on my iPhone 6+ without issue, and then proceeded to add the MacBook Air, desktop and so forth - and it's great now. -
HT1212 what is an iCloud keychain verification code and how is it used?
I recently had my iPhone replaced. During the setup, i got a text with an iCloud keychain verification code, but I cannot see where I use this code (I presume to unlock all the passwords the keychain contains).
It seems like one of these in the link I provided answers your question:
How do I set up iCloud Keychain on a new device if I don't have one of my other devices to approve from?
If you don't have access to any of your other devices that are using iCloud Keychain, you can still set up iCloud Keychain on another device if you have these items:
Your iCloud Security Code
The device that is using the SMS-capable phone number you provided when you first set up iCloud Keychain. A verification code is sent via SMS to this phone number. If you don't have access to this number, contact Apple Support, who can verify your identity so that you can complete setup on your new device.
If you have these items, follow the iCloud Keychain setup steps documented above. Your iCloud Keychain will then be pushed from the cloud to the new device.
Can Apple recover my iCloud Security Code?
No. If you enter your iCloud Security Code incorrectly too many times, you won't be able to use that iCloud Keychain. You can contact Apple Support, who can help verify your identity so that you can try again to enter your iCloud Security Code. After a number of incorrect attempts, your iCloud Keychain is removed from Apple's servers and you will need to set up iCloud Keychain again. -

I keep getting texts with new icloud keychain verification numbers
I have received three texts in the last several hours to my iphone indicating "Your icloud keychain verification number is xxxxxx"
I haven't requested this number to be changed. I have, however, just returned to the US from Mexico. Does this mean somebody is trying to hack into my icloud? If so, what can I do to stop it?
Thank you.Hey benjaminfromstamford,

My iCloud ID seems cracked: iCloud Keychain verification codes were sent from unknown senders
This morning, I received four SMS (text) messages from different phone numbers to my iPhone (iPhone 4s, iOS7.2.1).
All the SMS messages say
'Your iCloud Keychain verification number is xxxxxx' (6 digiit number)
All the phone numbers, which sent the message to me, seem mobile phone numbers in Malaysia:
+60 14 7380 651
+60 17 846 7052
+60 10 890 1756
+60 14 7380 650
and I did not know any of the senders (phone numbers).
(Also what I have found is the first and fourth numbers are different only by one.)
I think I have not touched Keychain feature of iCloud recently.
I doubted that my password for Apple ID was cracked.
Thus, I have changed my password for Apple ID (and iCloud).
I also have an ipad2 tablet (iOS7.2.1).
Are there anything else should I do?Okay, for all of you following this or experiencing the problem - here's the trick - give up on iCloud entirely - disconnect everything from it and whatever iCloud thinks it has on you will disappear - keep in mind that this will not blow-out or delete any keychain entries on your local machines - those are sacrosanct and will remain - each machine is/was/remains an island without iCloud - but it's likely (in my case) and maybe in many of yours that iCloud thinks it has important stuff in it - but it just might be wrong.

I replaced my iPad 4 with an iPad Air and while trying to do an iCloud restore it says a verification code will be sent to my cell. I no longer have access the that cell number...is there a way to change the cell number or get it via email?

After upgrade , icloud keychain verification code sent to 1 country code
After submiting my pass code , its trying to send a verification code as sms. The number is correct but country code showing up is +1 thats US instead of my correct country code. I remember in the past i have received the code correctly .
Thanks for the correction - the above instructions should read as follows:
On your iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud > Keychain. Enter your Apple ID / iCloud password if you are asked for it.
Confirm that iCloud Keychain is "on".
Then, tap Advanced, and confirm that Approve with Security Code is also "on".
