ICloud, Lion, Contacts, iPhone 4, & iPad 2

I upgraded my Mac book Pro to Lion and at the same time setup iCloud. Lion upgrade went great. After iCloud install I synced with my Address Book and iCal. Calendar sycn went fine, but the Address book pulled about 25% of my contacts up to iCloud. After which I synced my iPhone and the same contacts that were moved up to iClould were removed from my iPhone 4. What makes this even more interesting is the contacts that were pulled up to iCloud are my most frequently used numbers?
In additon, my Address Book on my Mac still has all the original contacts, but will not let me re-sync with my iPhone. But, on my iPad, all contacts are still there with none removed?
I have looked through a number of forums on Apple Support, but have not found anything like this - yet.
I have turned off iCloud syncing for everything on my Mac for now, but I would like to get the contacts back on my iPhone. I would rather not do this 'by hand' as there are about 175 very detailed contacts.
Anyone have any ideas?

OK, I got it to work, by turning iCloud Contacts off, as you suggested. I then went into iTunes and checked the Contacts syncing in iTunes. I had gotten messages saying sycning Contacts and iCal would no longer work with iTunes, but I guess it does if you turn off iCloud? Regardless, I now have all my contacts back on my iPhone, (whew)!

Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

Thanks, but I've been on the phone with AppleCare US (where I am and live) and AppleCare UK. They continue bouncing me back and forth without helping resolve the problem.

Delete the account on your phone. This will not delete any data on her phone or iPad, or data stored in iCloud.

Regarding the USB, see if zapping the PRAM helps.

I have enabled iCloud on my iPhone and iPad for sharing photos....it worked for awhile but recently stopped. We have checked the settings as instructed...it appears to be consistent with the iCloud instructions....plus, both devices are on the same wi-fi.....why did it stop working?

I assume you mean that your two devices are sharing the same photo stream, but they are no longer streaming new photos to each other. To troubleshoot this, first determine which device is not adding new photos for photo stream by taking a new photo on each and seeing if the photo appears in the photo stream album on the device after a minute or so. (The must be connected to wifi, have the camera app closed, and have at least 20% battery life remaining in order to upload photos to photo stream.)
If one of your devices fails to add new photos to its photo stream album, save the photo stream photos that you want to keep on the device to the camera roll (if not already there) by tapping Edit, tapping the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll. Then go to Settings>iCloud, turn photo stream off, wait a minute or so, then turn it back on. Then take a new photo and see if it appears in the photo stream album now, and streams to the other device.

Yes. Access via a browser, without the app, can only be done from a Mac or a PC, not an iOS device.

Recently my email was hacked. I've changed my Apple ID email address and my Mac now works with this ID. However, I can't delete my iCloud accounts on my iPhone or iPad as it asks for the old password (for the old ID) to turn off "find my" and this account is no longer in use...any help?

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

There's no way to merge them yet, so all you can do now is make 1 of them the master ID for iCloud. You have to continue to use the other for previous iTunes, Mac App Store updates. Have you read:

This only occurs when I attempt to go into iCloud setting in system pref's... I have attempted to change my password and also reloaded iCloud. Neither of these actions resolved the issue. When I open iCloud preferences in system preferences on my Mac, it prompts me to enter my appleID and password. Once entered, it just hangs...

Hi,
In the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears when you do this.
Navigate to Containers/com.apple.soagent/Data/Library/Preferences
You will notice that many of the items are Aliases (to the Originals in ~/Library/Preferences).
But there are exceptions.
Delete (Drag to Trash) the com.apple.soagent.plist and com.apple.messageshelper.AccountInfoController.plist
Restart the Mac (I have not worked out is SOAgent launches when the Mac does).
Restart Messages.
If this does not work navigate to ~/Library/Preferences
In here find and Delete com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
This will need a Restart of the app.
You will be asked Again for your Apple ID
