ICloud Mail and other Email Accounts

I searched the discussion and I couldn't find a solution to my problem so I am hoping that someone on here has found a way to fix this iCloud issue.
On my MobileMe account that I had before iCloud I had the mail set up to access all of my other Email accounts (6) in total. worked great never had a problem and I had one source for all of my Emails. I understand this is not the way iCloud works but here is my problem.
I migrated my MobileMe account to ICloud and for some reason it still kept accessing all of my other Email accounts and consolidating them in my ICloud mail. (no I do not have the other accounts set to forward to iCloud, iCloud was accessing them and downloading the messages.) Now about a week ago that all stopped. When I checked on the discussions here I realized that iCloud was not suppose to work with the other Email accounts but for some strange reason it did for a while. That is fine, I then setup all of my Email accounts on my iPhone, iPad and Mac as IMAP accounts and everything was working fine again.
Today for some unknown reason iCloud is accessing my accounts again and I just received hundreds of unread Emails (the last few days worth) from my other Email accounts. I understand there is no way to access your Email settings on iCloud but has anyone had a simialar problem, and if so how the heck do you get that link to the other Email accounts out of iCloud mail. I am considering just cancelling or deleting my iCloud account and setting up a new one if I can't find a way to fix this, it maybe my only option.

I'm having the same issue and it's driving me nuts.
For those who don't understand the question, here's the deal.  Prior to the unveiling of iCloud, MobileMe users had a feature available of pulling email from other, non-MobileMe pop accounts into their MobileMe inbox.  There was a setup screen under preferences within MobileMe that allowed you to specify the server, username, password, etc for non-MobileMe accounts.  Once set up, the incoming email from those account(s) would be delivered into your MobileMe inbox.  Forwarding did NOT need to be set up in the other accounts (in fact, if it was, you'd get everything twice).  Once set up, you could even color code incoming messages based on which account they were delivered from. 
I personally set up three other email accounts this way as it was convienet to check all my email in one in box.  Nice.
So.... here's the issue.  When MobileMe migrated to iCloud, the FUNCTION described above migrated over too and REMAINED IN EFFECT, but the ability to MANAGE THE FUNCTION and modify the other accounts went away.  So, anyone who had other email accounts set up (like I have) is still receiving email from those accounts into our iCloud inboxes, but we have no ability to manage those other accounts.  If you want to stop the delivery of email from one or more of the other accounts, you can't.  If you want to adjust the settings of any of the other accounts, you can't.  If the username or password for one of the other accounts changes, then the delivery breaks and you can't fix it.  You can't influnce how this feature behaves at all because the settings interface has been taken away.
It's extrememly frustrating to have a "feature" active that you can't manage or turn off.

    When I did it for Hotmail, it looked at the email address and found those on it's own.
    If you have other accounts that it doesn't recognize simply by feeding it the address, you'll may have to contact those services for support (usually online) and find out what they expect you to use...they are all different.
    You can usually type just part of the email after your name into a browser with the word setup (example: @emailsomething.com setup) and check the results.
    Also, again, use the built-in help* (?), bottom right on the main prefs panel, for details on where to put server info after you find out the exact data:

    Incoming Mail Server
    Enter the name of the mail server where your messages arrive and wait for you to retrieve them; for example, mail.example.com. This information is typically provided by your email service provider.
    Outgoing Mail Server
    Select the mail server that sends your messages to their destination, or add a new server. This information is typically provided by your email service provider.

    I have set up my Hotmail account and it works flawlessly.
    I also set up another email account Under the "Other" type. It RECEIVES emails fine, but when trying to SEND I get a message after a few moments that the Email was Unable to be sent to [email protected], for example, and has been placed in my Outbox. The recipient "[email protected]" was rejected by the server as it does not allow relaying".
    I have made sure my Incoming and Outgoing servers have correct Passwords attached.
    Any thoughts?

    Is the SMTP server for this other account authenticated?
    I believe a Hotmail account has an authenticated SMTP server.
    Most, if not all ISPs block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network or not provided by the ISP being used for your internet connection at the time unless the account's SMTP server is authenticated with a user name and password as is required when checking the account for new messages. When connected to the cellular network for internet access is not exception in this regard.

    Can I ad my company's exchange and have it play nicely with the other accounts?

    I don't see any problem. I run Mobile me and Exchange just fine on my iPhone.

    Lost all iCloud and iTunes information. I created a new email and apple ID and now can get into iTunes, sync, etc. but cannot get into iCloud. I'm sure there was nothing in the iCloud account in the first place. How do I delete the iCloud account and create a new one?

    I have two accounts with Google, one for business other for games. The games companies want access to names of clients, aquaintenances, friends etc. I only have one account with Apple, using business account. So do I set up another account with Apple, for the games, to protect clients, friends and aquaintences. As I am sure that no one wants to be bothered by the different games.   • Adding an "OTHER" email account - NTL wont work

    When I try to add my NTLworld email address to the accounts under settings and mail and other, add account, I can add hotmail no problem but it wont let me add my main account of NTL, it states cannot sertup/verify SSL then it asks me to setup manually so I select yes and then it sits there for ages and does nothing at all?

    similar here... i have no option to do anything else, to add details manually, or another way. i only have this and its sits at "verifying..." and doesnt go any further.
    i dont want to change the email nor do i want to sync via a nother service or login via webmail.
    there must be a reason this is happening?

    Well, seems I managed to unscrew this...I deleted my iCloud mail account and reinstalled it on my phone. That got rid of the duplicate .me/.mac email accounts.

    For over a month I have been locked out of my .mac and .me email accounts on password issues involving iCloud.
    I must have changed (duly confirmed as valid by Apple) a dozen times my iCloud account password and duly updated it to the preferences of mail.
    Still, when I try opening the mail I am prompted to enter the password, which every time fails. Every time I follow the link to replace the pw, I do so, I get the OK from Apple and back to square one ....
    I tried talking to support, but after 40 minutes of waiting I was given an ineffectual tip that did not work. No intention of calling again.
    Can anyone please put an end to my suffering?
    (Yes, I can type. Yes, I have been using Apple computers since 1984. Yes, I regularly enter countless password protected sites, no problem)

    I understand that they're the same thing but they don't seem to be working like that at the moment... and this has been the case ever since transferring to iCloud.
    The problem I'm having is that if anyone emails my .mac address it returns to sender undeliverable, while the .me address works fine. Similarly, if I try to send an email using .mac it won't send it, but it will using .me. Most of my contacts have the .mac address so I'm not getting any emails.
    If anyone has any advice I'd be most grateful.

    Most likely it is blocked on server level, you need to go to account settings and unblock everything that has word apple in it. Also just to make sure, verify that you didn't misspell your e-mail address.

  • How do I ensure mail is sent from the correct email account?  I have two set up on my iPad, and it seems to choose which one to use somewhat randomly.  This has happened both when using Mail and when emailing form another app.

    I have two email accounts set up on my iPad -- one I use & one I monitor for a disabled person.  On several occasions, mail I have composed and sent from my email account was sent showing the other account as the sender.  This has happened both from within Mail and when emailing from other apps, such as Safari, Photos, etc.  Any idea what is going on and how to prevent this from happening?

    Are you confirming your POP account is selected as the sending email account before the message is sent?
    And regardless if the email is a new email or is replying to or forwarding an email received by the POP account and cofirming the POP acconut is selected as the sending email account, the message is sent by the Gmail account?
    All message sent by the POP account are sent by the Gmail account?
    If so, delete the Gmail account from your iPad and test if a message sent with your POP account which will be the only email account available with the iPad's Mail app is recieved from your POP account/address.
    If not, something else is wrong or on play that has nothing to do with the iPad.

I *do* when I use Mail, so it seems like a Thunderbird thing. I'd really like to see my own emails come back to me in the conversation so that I know where my remarks fall in the discussion; it's very disorienting when you can't tell if your email has arrived at the list, or not.     It's both gmail and mac.com email accounts, and it's all email lists -- including some privately hosted on servers, that are not Google groups, not Yahoo groups.
    I'm not sure what you mean by "saving a copy of your messages yourself" in Mail -- if I email to the lists with Mail on my laptop or iPad, I can see it on my desktop computer too, right in line with other email messages in the thread, after the list resends the message I've submitted. It's only Thunderbird that this "invisible posts" behavior happens, and it didn't use to happen this way. I used to get my emails posting right in the thread.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
