ICloud / Mail / cannot receive SOME emails

For the past few weeks, I haven't been able to receive SOME (but not all) of the messages that have been sent to my @me.com address.
I do receive SOME messages.
When the same message is sent to both my @me.com address and another address at the same time, I receive the message on the latter, but not on the iCloud account.
The messages that are lost come from different mail services (so this is not just a problem with one email service provider).
The writers of the messages that do not come through receive no notification.
Theses messages do not appear in the spam folder either.
Any tips on why some of these messages are lost ?
Thank you very much in advance for your help !
PS / the lost messages do not appear on any of my apple devices (iCloud Mail, iPhone, MacBook)

Just to add further info: I check the Cloud Mail from a PC at work.

  • Cannot receive some email attachments

I'm having a problem with just a few received emails not having an attachment that it was sent with. The attachment is an audio file smaller than 2 mb. I can send the audio file. I can get an email from the person, but not an email with the attachment. If the email has the attachment, it won't come to me at all. I can get it with it being forwarded by another person, and retrieving it from my Earthlink server with Thunderbird, but not with Mail. Also, I have 1 person with a hotmail account that I cannot get an email from, in Mail, or Thunderbird. I've checked all of my blocked sender lists, my rules, and spam filters. They don't show up in trash, junk mail folder, or anywhere else.
    Anybody have suggestions?

Yeah, I'm going to contact Earthlink when I have a spare 30-40 minutes. I have already tried to get it through the webmail, and it doesn't show up at all, not even as deleted, moved to spam, or anything.
    Thanks for the advice.

  • MAIL not receiving some email

I am not receiving email from only certain Senders. From what I can tell, this started several months ago. I have the additional complication of having an AOL account as well as a .Me account accessed thru MAIL. BOTH are experiencing email loss from only certain senders. One of those is my wife who has the same MAC BOOK PRO, same version of Snow Leopard, and same set up for an AOL account accessed thru MAIL, thru the same ISP.
My MAIL Connection Dr shows BOTH accounts with a red dot stating LOG in to SMTP acct failed- Verify user name and Password, which coincidentally is the same notice I get from MAIL periodically. As far as I know, it is all correct, and I would assume, if it were NOT, I would not get ANY mail.
Anyone have any ideas? This whole SMTP and IMAP concept has me stumped, though I don't know if it is related to this. My MAIL vesion is 4.6.

It's only Incoming from specific senders is all the feedback I have to date. One of my AOL-MAIL senders was subsequently able to (get thru) send me the Undeliverable mail notice he got back from the AOL Server. I reviewed it with AOL Tech who was not able to discern the cause. My AOL filters are OFF. Other senders get nothing back.
Since it is happening to both accounts, I suspect a MAIL problem.
My MobileMe IMAP acct. ends in "@mac.com" because that is my Apple ID which I have had since the .MAC days. My email address is @Me.com. My incoming server is "imap.mail.me.com."
My AOL IMAP acct is my AOL email ending in "@aol.com." The Incoming Server is "imap.aol.com."

One more time, iCloud mail accounts are .me, .mac and .icloud. New ones are only .icloud.
iCloud mail is a standard Imap account that can be used with any mail client in existence. But You are talking about the ability to automatically setup an iCloud account in mail, which did not exist until 10.7.2.
You can use password or token authentification with iCloud mail (in Mail) it is your choice.
Set the account manually, set it as Imap, use imap.mail.me.com (no P number) for the incoming email and smtp.mail.me.com as the outgoing server.
The full settings (ports and security) are here. Use them and it will work, regardless of domain (mac, me and icloud addresses all use the same settings.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 993
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 587
    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password
Note: If you receive errors using SSL, try using TLS instead. SSL is required for both IMAP and SMTP connection with iCloud. POP is not supported by iCloud.

Someone who receives my mail sent from Apple Mail cannot receive attachments or read my email even though they are on a Mac using Safari.  How could they be using Safari to receive or read my mail?

You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink.  This person receiving my email,  while on a Mac with Safari is reading their mail through Safari using Horde--our recent discovery.  Why they chose to do that in unclear. The last email we sent, however, was miraculously read and received and  the attachment was viewed with no problem after we told them our mail was coming from a Mac thriugh Apple Mail.  It seems that telling them that our emails were coming from a Mac and using Apple Mail was enough to make them think that perhaps THEY were doing something not quite right. Thank you both, Level 7 and Level 5.
But thank you especially for the meteorologists in the UK for putting forth the correct routes for Sandy these last days, you probably saved a lot of lives.

  • Exchange 2010: New Mailboxes cannot receive external email, but internal works fine. Existing Mailboxes are working properly.

    Hello,
I can't seem to figure out what the problem is, but my new mailboxes cannot receive external email. The sender receives an NDR stating the following:
The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 No such user - psmtp (state 13).
Internally, the affected mailboxes can send and receive mail, and the mailboxes have no trouble sending mail out of the organization. I do not see an anti-spam solution installed on the exchange server, and I have confirmed that DNS resolved to the WAN IP
    of this server.
Can anyone help me? The message tracker didn't appear to have recorded the NDR's that it sent, but it's possible I didn't view the logs correctly.
    Thank you!
    Paul
    My environment contains two servers:
Server A: Domain Controller, Server 2008 R2, Exchange 2010 Standard

Is your Exchange server exposed to the Internet or do you have some
3rd-party device that does spam filtering? If you have something out
in front of Exchange that only periodically refreshes its cache of
valid SMTP addresses from the AD then you need to adjust the refresh
    rate.
That "550 No such user" isn't a status code that Exchange returned.

  • Help!! (Yet again) I don't receive some email

I have set up Email with my iPod, but I won't receive some email! I receive email like adobe advertisements, Apple support communities email notifications, EA games news, ect., but other I don't receive. I haven't checked my email on another device to see if it was even sent at all, though. Please help me!

With a POP3 account you can change when the ma message is deleted from the server. Go to Settings>Mail>The Account>Advanced>Delete from server and you will find the options available.
When a message is deleted from the server it can no longer be download by another device.
You should have similar options on Mail program on other devices. If you use webmail and leave it in your inbox yo can access it from the iPod. If you move it from the inbox the iPod can't get it.

  • I don't receive some emails

I'm using a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, and Mail 5.3.   I don't receive some emails.
One day last week my wife sent me two emails from work.  I received one, but the other one never showed up.  She sent it to me again the next day, and again it didn’t arrive.
I thought that perhaps there was something in her second email that was blocked for some reason by some kind of filter at her work, but this morning I happened to open Mail on my lightly-used iMac 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5 (OS X 10.4 and Mail 2.1.3), and saw that both of her emails had arrived on the day she sent them.
Back on my Macbook I looked through junk and trash folders and searched by my wife’s name and by her work email address - No sign of either email.  Anyone have any idea as to what’s happening?    Thanks,  Gene

I’m happy to say that I’ve found my problem.  I was a bit daunted by the thought of rebuilding my pack-rat-like mailbox, so I put it off to see if any other emails disappeared.
Today, checking mail on my infrequently used iMac, I saw an email had arrived a week ago from my daughter (along with a reply from my wife who was also an addressee) that never showed up on my MacBook Pro.
Going through my MacBook’s mail preferences again, I took the time to review again my Rules and saw that I’d listed the word debt along with bankruptcy, manhood, and a few other words with the instruction that any message containing that word should be automatically deleted.  Both of the emails that “never showed up” on my Macbook included the word debt, and had been deleted without a trace by my own rule.  I’ve changed the rule now, at least for debt.
Thanks to all who read my problem and gave it some thought.  The troubleshooting sites that Sheila M. steered me to and, believe it or not, the fact that out of 100 people who’d looked to see if they could help, there were no other ideas --these things helped me conclude that the problem might well of my own making and not some flaw that other folks run into.
I appreciate having this community to turn to.
    Gene

  • IPhoto 11 (9.2.1) can't use iCloud Mail smtp server for email.

iPhoto 11 (9.2.1) can't use iCloud Mail smtp server for email.  "The email server didn't recognise username/password combination".  Both appear correct in preferences/accounts.  Mail sends and receives messages perfectly.
(This problem also occurs when trying to send from Thunderbird, however both iPhoto and Thunderbird can send perfectly well using the Gmail server).

    Hi there
I should explain that I have 5 days experience of the iMac but have had a working iCloud account with my iPad for several months.  I don't think this is an iCloud issue as such. My thought is that this is something to do with the Mail application itself and its relationship to my Apple ID etc. (Perhaps when the iMac first configured itself?)
I have deleted and manually reset both Mail and iPhone account settings for iCloud using the Apple recommended settings and I have tentatively checked that the username/password combination is as expected in Keychain but I'm too much of an Apple novice to go any further with that.
On a PC I think I would try reinstalling the Mail programme but I don't see that as an option.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Put in a request for another verification e-mail to be sent to you.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether. You may also wish to contact your mail provider to see if their spam filters are removing the email before it gets to you.

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works
