  • Mobile me/iCloud has different send from email address

Hi, I've upgraded to iOS 6 on my iphone4 and since ive done this my mobile me address wont send any emails, I can receive emails fine but when I go to send a mail on icloud or on my phone or on the mail programme it is telling me that my send from address is [email protected]  I dont know who this is and I cant seem to change the settings.  I've re installed mail several times and it still doesnt work, has this happened to anyone else or can someone help please??

If you go to http://icloud.com and go to the Mail page, click on the cogwheel icon at top right and choose Preferences, then click 'Accounts' in the toolbar of the pane which opens, what does it show (don't post your email address)?

  • ICloud doesn't send from @me address

When I signed up for iCloud, I started fresh with my main AppleID (a @mac.com address) and not the MobileMe ID for many reasons, mostly because I needed to run MobileMe at the same time because of shared calendars.
When I created the iCloud account, everything seemed fine. Turning on Mail prompted the system to say something along the lines of "you need a @me name to use email, choose one now." I did. Now whenever email is sent to this new @me name, it appears in the iCloud inbox that is logged into this @mac AppleID.
HOWEVER. Both iOS devices will ONLY send iCloud email as the @mac.com name. There does not seem to be ANY way to tell the iCloud account to send email as this @me address. There are a few spots in the iCloud settings where it seems like one could change the address without changing the logged in identity, but of course, each one is greyed-out/disabled.
Is there ANY way to fix this??

Just to add, doesn't show up in the outbox.mbox folder either...

  • Mac mail wont send from new address

I wonder if anyone can help me...I recently purchased a mac mail address for my girlfriend and i set it up. (anyone who has done this before will know that all you have to do is put your username and password in to set the @mac address up and all the rest is done for you). However, i can not send mail to her new address, nor can i send anything from her address. I can though send her mail on me.com, and i can also send and receive me.com mail from her mac. I have no idea what is going on. HEELLPP!!

I recently purchased a mac mail address
Are you sure it's a .Mac address, or is it a MobileMe address?
i can not send mail to her new address
Are you trying to send mail to that address from a different address, or from her own address?
What are the specific settings for the account (Incoming and Outgoing servers, port numbers for each, authentication method, and SSL status)?

  • Enabled RBL - Cannot send from dynamic address ranges

I have recently enabled some RBL on my mail server to help combat some spam problems that have been starting. Unfortunately, some users can no longer send email through my server when they are working remotely. I am pretty sure they are being blocked because they are on dynamic address ranges (Comcast home accounts and Verizon air cards).
    Is there a way to:
    1) (preferred) Allow SMTP to go through without looking up the RBL (white-listing) based on SMTP authentication? This way they could me anywhere and always be able to send.
    or
    2) How do I white-list address ranges so that they can send through.
    Thanks

Based on your reply, it sounds like postfix processes its config in a top to bottom fashion. It now makes sense to me that it must be getting to the RBL's before authentication. Below is my postconf, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • IPhone E-mail Cannot send to Multiple Addresses

In the Mac OS X and MobileMe e-mail applications, a person can paste multiple e-mail addresses into the 'To:' field, to send an e-mail message to multiple contacts at once. This is not only a convenience for anyone wanting to send a message to a large group of people, but a necessity for business/enterprise users such as company sales managers who have to constantly send information to sales reps in the field all over the country. With the current iPhone OS, the user must send e-mail messages to one contact at a time, which can be very time consuming and tedious. Anyone have any work-arounds for this?

I should have been clearer on the last sentence of my post (but thanks for your response). The last sentence reads, 'With the current iPhone OS, the user must send e-mail messages to one contact at a time, which can be very time consuming and tedious.' What I should have said is:
'With the current iPhone OS, the user must enter each e-mail address individually (one-at-a-time), which can be very time consuming and tedious.'
For instance, let's say you have a group of 50 people you need to send an e-mail message to. If you already have their e-mail addresses typed out together as a group (and separated by commas), you can paste this group into the 'To:' field of a Mac OS X or MobileMe e-mail message, and in one step, send that e-mail to each individual. But on the iPhone, every time you want to send a message to those 50 people, you must individually click the '+' button and locate a contact in your list 50 times.

  • HT204053 I am in the US NOW with a Can ID . I am receiving mail but cannot send, would iCloud mail work for me?

I am in the US NOW with a Canadian email provider . I can receive all my email, but cannot send . Would ICloud mail for sending solve my problem?

Yes, it should work. If it does not work at the moment, try to sign out of iCloud and then try to sign in again, this solves the problem in most cases.

  • The incorrect iCloud email (in the from field)address is appearing

The incorrect iCloud email (in the from field) address is appearing on my iPod touch, but not on my MacBook Pro. The I Pod's ICloud email account is using my account for Itunes etc., not the icloud email address, how can I reset the "from" address?

ok thanks, so if I do nothing straight away, they won't free the address up and give it to someone else, correct?

Can you use Windows Live Mail to send/recieve iCloud email and share contacts or can I just use iCloud email on my PC without use Live Mail? I want to use one email adress, one contact list and one calendar. I want to be able to have access to all this on my iphone and pc.

    Hi OaksterMe,
In order to completely delete emails from your devices and free up space in iCloud, you should follow the steps in this article -

  • Cannot send from Outbox

I am using Mavericks and Mail 7.3.  When I try to reply to or forward a message it goes to the outbox and stays there.  I cannot send from the outbox.  There is no paper airplane in the tool bar unless I go to message, select send, and go back to the outbox.  The message activity in the side bar does not show any activity when I hit send. HELP!
    Thank you.

  • Attachment size - Mail cannot send email attachments over 1.5Mb

Had this issue with Mac mail for well over a year now.
Mac Mail, connected to Exchange server.
Mac Mail cannot send attachments over about 1.5Mb. This does fluctuate, sometimes its as low as 600Kb.
It seems to be related to the internet speed you have, Slower internet connections and attachment size you are able to send goes down, faster speed and it allows bigger attachments to be sent.
Im assuming its some kind of time out issue.
With Windows and Outlook on the same internet connection = NO PROBLEM AT ALL!
This means its not an exchange only problem, its specific to mail and exchange.
I have several friends all switched over to Apple in the last 2 years and ALL having the same issues and despite logging several calls with Apple and trying everything they have suggested still no fix.
I have searched around and it seems lots of people are having similar issues all with no resolution to this.
Please can someone suggest anything new that might resolve this, im happy to try anything!

    @Brooksymj
We had a similar problem - but we had one Mac which had been migrated from and old G5 Tiger to a new Intel iMac Snow Leopard and no problems existed (all size attachments send), so we checked out what was different about that machine's mail.plist preferences.  We spotted some obvious ones that didn't exist on a clean install of Snow Leopard, so added them, which worked for us, as follows...
    1/ get Pref Setter (www.nightproductions.net/prefsetter.html)
2/ quit Mail and launch Pref Setter
    3/ find com.apple.mail and double-click it
4/ click once on any one of the entries without an expansion triangle
5/ click on Actions and select Add New Array
6/ call the new array DeliveryAccounts (no space)
7/ with DeliveryAccounts highlighted, click Actions and select Add New Dictionary
8/ leave the default name of Item 1
9/ with Item 1 highlighted, click Actions and select Add New Key
10/ call the new key MaxMessageBytes (no spaces)
11/ change MaxMessageBytes class to Integer
12/ set the value to the maximum individual message size permited by your exchange server
    (ours is 50MB = 52428800)
This also worked on my mbp with Lion.
    Hope this works for you!

    No, you can't go back.
But you have to check here: Settings > Messages > Send and receive.
Also check settings at the other iDivice's. These should NOT be the same.

  • GMail - Send from Alternate Address?

    Hello
Is there no way in BB10 to use the send from alternate address feature of a gmail account. On my old iphone when I sent a message it appeared to the receiver as if it was sent from a different e-mail address that I have set up in my gmail account preferences. However, this is not happening from my BB Q10. Is there a way to make this work on BB 10?

I would also love to know more on this topic as I wasn't able to solve it myself or googling around.

Yesterday I uploaded Yosemite 10.10.2 thinking it was fixed by now. In Mail, my POP account gets this error message: Mail cannot send your password securely to the server. You can remove this restriction in the Accounts preferences by setting “Allow insecure authentication”, which could put your password at risk.
My provider says it's an Apple issue. The gmail accounts are logging in fine. Any help? Something simple?
    Thanks anyone.

Thanks Csound1. That did work and Mail was able to connect to the internet. Green light status. Is it because of my provider that I may never have had secure connections? Is that an Apple thing or do PCs have the same issues? Appreciate your help. I'll research insecure connections as I am ignorant of the consequences.
