ICloud mail forward and filters broken, again.

Trying to forward iCloud mail to gmail. Keeps saying 'can't do that now, try again later'. It's been like this for several days. Any idea when it will be fixed?

Have you had any luck getting it to work?  I'm in the same situation.

  • Clarification of Servlet Spec for forwarding and filters

    Hi everybody,
I'm having a problem trying to use SiteMesh in WebLogic 9.1 vs Tomcat 5.5.17. The issue seems to come up because the two containers have different behavior when it comes to forwarding and filters.
The scenario is this: A request comes in to a servlet, that servlet forwards to a JSP page using RequestDispatcher.forward(). The SiteMesh filter looks at request.getServletPath() after the chain has executed and determines whether or not to apply the decoration based on the path of the page. The filter's doFilter() method looks something like :
    chain.doFilter(request, response)
    if(request.getServletPath() = matchingPath)
        applyDecoration();
}Now, in Tomcat, a call to request.getServletPath() before and after the call to chain.doFilter() returns the exact same thing, regardless of whether the target servlet executes a forward. But in WebLogic, the call to getServletPath() after chain.doFilter() returns the forwarded path, not the original path.
Who is right? Or is this one of those gray areas?
    Thanks,
    Scott

Thanks for the info. You are correct, I was using 'forward'. I changed it to use 'sendRedirect' and this time the request goes via the filter. However, the request parameters that were in the original request have disappeared after the 'sendRedirect'. I could just add all the request parameters to the string I pass to sendredirect but was wondering if there was a better/simpler way.
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • In MountainLion System Preferences, "iCloud", "Mail, Contacts, and Calenders", and "Software Update" all want to open in 32 bit mode.  Security and Privacy won't open either.

    As stated in the header,
    iCloud
    Mail, Contacts, and Calenders
    Software Update
all want to open in 32 bit mode.  Then when System Preferences quits and relaunches IN 32 bit mode, I get a dialog box saying "You can't open (pick one) preferences because it doesn't work on an Intel-based Mac."  Moreover, Security and Privacy does the same thing only without the song and dance about quitting and reopening.
Whaaaaat???!!!  I've never owned anything BUT an Intel Mac.
The "open in 32 bit mode" is not, and has never been checked in "Get Info"
I tried going to ~Library/Preferences and tossing all com.apple.system preferences files and rebooting.  No joy.
It actually looks like some joker has included a bunch of PPC preference panes in my copy of MountainLion, except some of them are new to this OS.
My hardware is a mid 2010 13" MacBook Pro with4 gb of RAM, and a 500 gb hard drive, in three seperate partitions, running three Mac operating systems, one at a time.  I have SnowLeopard in a small partition because I still have a few things that don't run in Lion/ML.  Lion is still my main use machine in the largest partition, and when ML came out, I redistributed most of the unused space into a 3rd partition into which I did a clean install of ML in it's own partition so I could work through the growing pains without compromising my main computer.  I'm glad I did it that way, but I DO want to get ML working properly, and I can't do that if I can't authorize third party software.  Gatekeeper is currently in the way, and I can't get it to move.

I dunno, that doesn't make any sense to me.
I just shut down and rebooted into the SnowLeopard partition and took a peek at the preference panes.  There are only 3 that run in 32 bit only.  They are all 3rd party, and none of the prefpanes are non Intel.  Like I said, I have never owned a PPC machine.  Anyhow, SnowLeopard doesn't even have an iCloud prefpane, or a combined mail, contacts, and calenders prefpane, and the ML security and privacy prefpane is all new as well.  The software update prefpane is Intel and 64 bit in both SnowLeopard and Lion.
As to the triple boot, unless I'm totally mistaken, what I have here is, in essence, 3 seperate descrete computers in one box.  All using the same hardware. but one at a time.  I wouldn't know how to get more than one running at the same time, without using a virtual machine, even if I wanted to.  (Which I don't)  I do sometimes transfer files from one to another using the shared folder, but other than that, they do not interact.  How could ML system preferences be trying to launch prefpanes from a totally different machine?

  • After joining a company to receive products, my icloud mail changed and I can't change it back

I joined 'itworks'.com and went on the site to edit our information for purchasing product etc.  my email in icloud changed.  it now says 'itworks' in the "To;" section of receiving mail.  very confused.  I went into the mail preferences and could not find out where this is to change it?  HELP!

I went into the profile and 'corrected' my email address (icloud account) and then shortly after, all my icloud mail became the 'itworks' in the From and To of my sent emails......I then went back to the profile and switched my email account to an 'alias' in 'outlook' account.  It still didn't change my icloud.....
so then I quit (exited) my mail on the computer and reopened it. It has now finally got back to normal again.
    Thank you for your help.

  • ICloud Mail Forwarding

I set my iCloud mail preferences to forward my me.com mail to my gmail account. This auto-forwarding is not working. I missed several messages from my wife, and verified this with test messages. (Sent from a third account to me.com for forwarding to gmail.)
All these messages did appear in my iCloud mail. When I forwarded one of them manually to my gmail account, that worked.
Anybody else had this experience, and what did you do about it?
    Thanks

I have the exact same problem.  I also tried adding a rule to forward messages from my icloud account.  Same result.

  • Mail forwards and replies not received

Recently I've found out that emails that I've replied to or forwarded to others were never received. I never receive a message that the mail was undeliverable and the emails show up in my "sent" folder. Emails I initiate are no problem. Any idea of what the problem is, or how I can fix it?
    eMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

When you send a message your mail client (Apple Mail) holds a conversation with your mail server and passes it the message for delivery. The copy of the message does not appear in your Sent mailbox until this conversation is complete. If it can't hold the conversation, or the server won't accept the message, you will generally get an error message. It sounds like a problem with whoever is providing hte mail service.
Out of curiosity try sending me an email (address is in my profile) and post back here when you have sent it.

    Is there a system problem?
    Many thanks for any help.

Seems there's been an issue for a couple of hours. If they fix it soon, I don't think a several-hour outage is the type of thing that affects AAPL. I've got my fingers crossed they'll fix it soon.

  • What are settings for iCloud mail smtp and imap OS 10.7.5?

message is could not connect to this icloud IMAP server. verify you entered the correct info in the account preferences.  Says the same thing on SMTP server.

    Hello,
Check if Mail is changing imap.mail.me.com to old mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to old smtp.me.com.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
        •    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
        •    SSL Required: Yes
        •    Port: 993
        •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
        •    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
        •    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
        •    SSL Required: Yes
        •    Port: 587
        •    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
        •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
        •    Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria:  8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers.  If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message.  Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

  • ICloud mail losing and/or organizing mail wrong

I have recently been having trouble with iCloud mail.  My mail is either organized wrong, e.g., put in trash or junk upon receiving when they're either continuations of discussion or new email, or when I try to click on them they disappear, or they are gone after one week.  I have not made any of these situations as the chosen operation of email.  I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and have only noticed this happening within the last week or so, definitely since installing the update.  Any thoughts? suggestions?  Thanks

You can migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud at http://me.com/move even with Snow Leopard - when asked to confirm that you have Lion on your Mac, just lie and say 'yes'.
If you have MobileMe mail set up to collect mail from external POP accounts you should cancel this before migrating, or you may find it still working in iCloud (where it isn't supposed to) and with no way of stopping it. You may find the MobileMe email settings will continue to work for a time after migrating but it will stop eventually so you should not rely on this. You should delete your MobileMe email account from Mail.
You can then set up Mail manually in Snow Leopard to access iCloud email; it's a slight fudge because the 'wizard' will attempt to connect you to MobileMe as soon as you enter an @me.com address. The process, which includes a workaround for this, is described here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html
You may be able to sync your calendars to iCloud by means of an unsupported hack, but you cannot sync Contacts or Bookmarks, and iCloud's other facilities will not work. This page outlines the situation when you migrate to iCloud, including a link to the calendar hack:

  • Question on Forwarding and Filters

    Hi,
I have a servlet X that forwards to a servlet Y. When Y is requested directly there is a filter specified in web.xml that does some preprocessing of the request. When X forwards to Y I want the request to pass through the filter, but it seems to go straight to Y. Associating the filter with X wont work because the filter would then process the request before X, instead of between X and Y. I can incorporate the functionality of the filter in Y but that defeats the whole purpose of using filters (there is a situation where I want to use Y without the filter). Is there is way to do what I want?
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • Icloud mail forwarding - has it been disabled?

I have my iclioud account set to forward emails to another email and they are not getting sent - they arrive at icloud (.me.com) but are not forwarded.
Anyone know what this could be due to?
    Thanks

It's not the form of the account part of the email address. It appears to be a general problem with forwarding.
Started for me sometime between Dec 15 and Dec 16. I noticed the problem the morning of Dec 16 (Friday).
It looks like a DNS lookup failure validating the address being forwarded to.

  • E-mail forwards and downloads flicker and are slow to download

Never had this problems until last night after I downloaded 4.ob12. When downloads are moved to either side for visibility, it returns to original position and the e-mail also flickers off and on--very disconcerting.
I've also had problems when I delete e-mail. Rather than going back to the Inbox, it returns to the delete folder sometimes.
I mainly chose 4.ob12 so I could add frequent downloads in the upper status bar, however I now learn that they are not available in 4.ob 12

I tried the sync fix but it did not have any impact on the problem. Still struggling with freezing mail and very slow downloads. Mail coming in at about 4 kb/sec when I have a broadband connection capable of about 1 Mb/sec.
I assume you were referring to running sync from .Mac in "System Preferences". I ran sync and left it to Synchronize with .Mac - Automatically.
    Any other thoughts?
    Regards
    Robert

  • E-mail addresses and filtering duplication

    Duplicate address
I have a stand alone application that I wrote in Java to read email addresses from a csv file into a buffer and then it is supposed to filter out any duplicates, then write the unique smtp addresses into a new csv file to be veiwed in Excel.
However, this does not work. It is sending all the addresses to the new csv file so I am unsure what I have done wrong.
I belive the issue may be down to the delimiter.

Instead of matches use equals. You can also join the two if statements into one like this
    if (MyString[lc1].equals(MyString[lc2] && !MyString[lc1].equals("Empty"))
Also consider using toUpperCase/toLowerCase and using other kinds of collections. I am not sure of the name of one of them which doesn't require specifying a size (ArrayList) to add unique emails addresses when the above statement (if statement) is true instead of starting a new loop.

iCloud mail does not reconnect in Mail on my MacBook Pro after sleep or after disconnecting and reconnecting my iPhone.
