ICloud 'mail' not loading in browser
Can't get the iCloud 'mail' app to load in Safari (or Firefox) browser window, every other 'App' loads and shows correctly, but every time I try and launch the 'Mail' it just says 'not responding - send report to Apple?' Frustrating!!
I've flushed the cache and the DNS cache, still no joy.
'Mail' is defiantly 'ticked' across all iCloud preferences/settings.
I'm running Yosemite.
Any ideas?
Settings/Preferences and iCloud in a web browser are two completely different things.
If you're setting up iCloud Mail in Preferences/Settings on your iOS device or Mac, then you should be able to access it via the preinstalled Mail application on your device. If you want to access iCloud Mail in a web browser (only accessible via Mac or PC), then please use the latest version of Safari, Firefox, Chrome, visit www.icloud.com and sign in using your icloud email address.

anyone out there haveing mail to load on all devices today.
Hence the reason I have three accounts all with diffeerent providers. If I am doing anything crtical, I request replies on all of them. I find it much easier to delete the two extras one rather then not getting anything at all.

Yosemite - could not load internet accounts preference pane - same for icloud - mail not running
After Up-Grade to Yosemite 10.10:

Had several issues when upgrading from Mountain Lion to Yosemite 10.10. Finally it seemed to work. When starting Mail, I tried to restore data from Time Machine (did a back-up under Mountain Lion immediately before up-grading to Yosemite). This ran for over 2 h when I suddenly noticed that "Mail quit unexpectedly. Since then I cannot work with Mail at all.
I read on the forum that many people have issues with Mail in Yossemite but apparently it's different from what I am experiencing, and it seems that none of the proposed solutions work for me.
I can start Mail, but I will only see the bar on top of the screen. Mail "Preferences" remains grey (= cannot click).
When choosing Mail "Accounts", System Preferences opens and then I get the "Preferences Error Could not load Internet Accounts preference pane."
I noticed then that I get a similar error when clicking "iCloud" in System Preferences: "Preferences Error Could not load iCloud Accounts preference pane."
I can open "Internet Accounts" and "iCloud" in System Preferences when I log in as a guest without any errors, but as soon as I log in with my user name, I get the same errors.
As suggested elsewhere in this forum, I removed the com.apple.mail-shared.plist in library and tried the same with com.apple.internetaccounts.plist.
I've spent hours on this and find this increasingly frustrating. I would try another new installation of Yosemite, if only I could be confident it would work this time...

I had exactly the same problems, but found this solution on another thread courtesy of Paul Pharoah which saved the trouble of another clean install and seems to have fixed everything . It appears the problem lies somewhere in the mail account settings.
"I 've had the same problem today and tried lots of the suggested solutions around, all without success until....
1. I moved all the files in ~/Library/Mail/V2 to the desktop
2. Deleted the folder
3. Deleted my two email accounts (Gmail and exchange server) using System Preferences>Internet Accounts
4. Re-started Mail. It now re-started as if for the first time and asked me to re-input my mail accounts which I did.
5. Mail up and running again."

I have not been able to access mail for over 12 hours.I am unable to get my iCloud email in Mail.app since a couple of hours ago. I went to iCloud online & was able to log in, but mail would not load. I got this error message:

I upgraded to iCloud on two Macs running Lion and one iPhone running iOS 5. My mail (Apple Mail 5.2) no longer stays in sync - it used to work seamlessly via MobileMe. I followed all of the instructions to migrate my mail accounts. Here are the issues:
If I delete mail on the MBP, it does not delete on the phone...
After deleting messages they reappear within mail (as READ mail) on the MBP and on the iPhone
I cannot access my old sent mail (prior to iCloud move)...mail keeps trying to open but is never able
I checked all the mail settings on MBP and phone and they seem right, but I'm unclear about IMAP vs. "IMAP enabled" as referenced in another post. I see that some folks are having mail sync issues, but I've not found any posts that specifically spell out the above issues. I have not yet synced the phone with iTunes since the migration. Will do that next. Also have not yet tried deleting the account on the iPhone as I want to understand the IMAP issue first. Another thing that I'm unsure about is why iCloud defaulted to my @mac address (vs @me). I read an article that said I could change that, but I don't know if that's appropriate at this point. Perhaps that is the underlying issue!!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.Update: I spent an hour on the phone with AppleCare on Sunday and the problem is now resolved. In case I'm not the only one out there with this issue, I will share the solution that worked in my case. In a nutshell, I had to empty the trash folder in my iCloud account. I have it set to autodelete every 30 days, but should probably do it more frequently. What I noticed when talking with the advisor is that no mail had entered my trash can since the migration to iCloud. Even though I knew that I couldn't permanently delete mail from the inbox, I hadn't noticed that it wasn't staying in the trash. In fact, it wouldn't go to the trash at all. I would hit delete, and it would go into space....then reappear in the inbox a minute later.
We tried a number of things before the advisor had the idea of clearing out the trash can. We first verified that I was able to delete email while logged into icloud.com. Then we set up a new user and linked the Mail app to my iCloud account, and the same issue presented...except in this case, there was no trash can even present because it was a new account and I could not delete any trash. We tried removing the iCloud association and then setting it back up - no change. Of note is that my Gmail account continued to work fine in terms of deleting mail. The problem was specifically with the iCloud trashcan. Once it was cleared out, I was able to delete a weeks worth of email.
For what it's worth, I am still unable to look at my MobileMe sent mail, which I occasionally like to do. A new new folders were created during the iCloud migration: MobileMe Sent mail, recovered mail, deleted, and junk. These folders appear to be empty now, but earlier in the week I could view the message headers, though the messages would not load. Now I don't have access to them at all. So a word of caution to anyone that really needs copies of their sent mail on MobileMe....you may need to copy that mail to a new folder before migrating! -

ICloud Mail not working or not responding
My iCloud Mail does not work, not on my iPhone, nor on my Mac or iCloud.com . On iCloud.com it says "Can't load Mail." on my Mac it says "Trying to login to this iCloud IMAP account failed." and on my iPhone it says "iCloud Mail server is down".
Update: It now works after around 15-20 minutes.
P.S. Hope it doesn't happen again.
Another Question: I have a @me.com Email from Apple that i still use, will apple once delete @me.com emails from whoever has it still or i can continue using it without worries ?

ICloud mail not syncing with Droid RAZR
On July 24th, 2012 iCloud mail stopped syncronizing with my Droid RAZR. My wife and I have identical phones, and have currently active and functional iCloud accounts on Mac. Both of our phones had functional email syncronization before AND AFTER ICS updates. No new dowloands or settings changes have occured. I have ensured that we are using the correct manual settings [email protected], PW, imap settings mail.mac.com, port 993, SSL
I have tried using imap.mail.me.com and that does not work either. I tried the p07- prefix, and that too does not work. The only error it providfes is that it cannot connect to the server, and no other information is provided.
I was on with verizon support, apple support, and motorola support and no one knows what has happened or has any solution.
Have others encountered this problem recently? I have seen postings from last year on this, but nothing recently.
If others have solutions, please post.
ThanksI had the same problem. Took me a long time to figure out but just got it working with Motorola level 2 support. For some reason the settings changed and they are different settings that what I got to work using the K-9 app. Basically, you need to change the incoming and outgoing server settings from what they were! incoming server is imap.mail.me.com. Use port 993, ssl/tls (accept all certificates) and authentication method should be LOGIN. Outgoing settings should be smtp.mac.com with port 587, require sign-in, authentication method is PLAIN

ICloud Mail not syncing as "read" across all devices
If I read an email on my Mac, it does not mark as read on my iPhone and i still see the new mail notification on the lock screen and there is a new mail mark on the mail app icon when i unlock the iPhone until I open up mail app and it checks manually.
When I used the Gmail Exchange server or Gmail App with Gmail account it works perfectly and when i read my mail it sync immediately on all devices and the new mail notification disappear immediately after reading the mail on the other device.

You could try switching your iCloud mail to fetch instead of push. I've never tried this, but maybe it will fetch the read status, as per the fetch schedule. -

One of them loads most plain text emails just fine, but when I try to load a message with a reasonable (1MB) attachment, it shows "Loading" (with a spinning logo) but does not load the message. I've left this process running for over an hour, but it does not seem to get anywhere. I checked the activity window during this loading screen and something appears quickly immediately after I click on the message, but then it is empty.
It is not a server issue or an issue with the settings, as tens of other computers with identical settings and on the same servers perform perfectly, and are able to download much larger attachments and emails.
Additional Info: I have tried rebuilding the mailbox and having Mail generate a new Envelope Index file, but the problem persists.

The index probably needs to be repaired again. Try again removing the Envelope Index to force reindexing of all mailboxes, but again read:

With IMAP or Exchange accounts, note their special treatment requiring removal of the account folders. Have you ever removed the Envelope Index without removing the account folders, by any chance?
After you do this, you should again test.

Mail not loading new gmail message
I have Apple Mail 4.3 and since 22 November it is not loading new gmail messages. New messages are appearing in gmail and iphone, but not in Mail - any ideas why this would be
I'm facing the same problem since 27 Dec 2010, can't find and fix for this problem.
I can download other mail accounts except imap.gmail.com, it just show loading and nothing happen, and it also choke up almost all my internet bandwidth.
I gave up and switched to outlook for mac and no such problem.
Hope apple can look into this problem and I'm sure there are more out there having same issue.
