ICloud Mail problems

Hi, My Apple Mail program is just spinning on my iCloud mail and not pulling it in from the server, as it would usually do. Anyone know how to fix this?

Me too. Any ideas?
Thinking it may be as a setting as a .mac account and now I am trying to change it to the .me account

  • ICloud mail problem with 10.8

    Hi folks,
having updated today to OS 10.8 and encountered a problem to get my icloud e-mail work in Mail 6.2.
As I found on the support page here it seems that others had these problems as well for weeks.
I tried to sign out and in from icloud in the system preferences, trying to activate mail there did not work ("iCloud Mail couldn't be enabled from the iCloud Preference Pane.").
Having also deleted the icloud mail in Mail 6.2 and added it again several times without success.
It seems to me that the greyed "incoming mail server" field is resonsible for this as discussed several times here. However, is there any sloution available?
BTW iphone and ipad both working fine...
    many thanks for your help
    Alfred

Make note of the information in the three sections of the iCloud mail preferences, Account Information, Mailbox Behaviors and Advanced.  Then delete the account and add it back again.  See if that won't jump start the account.
This is what my Advanced pane looks like:
Check that first to see if yours is the same.  If not change it an try again before deleting the account and adding it back.

  • TS4083 iCloud mail problem

When I open an icloud mail ([email protected]) on my pc, when I go to my ipad and iphone, it briefly flashes on them and then disapears.  I cannot read them on either ipad or iphone as they disappear very quickly (as soon as I open "mail")  Both will show that I have mail but they won't stay.  This is a recent development.  Help!

  • HT1199 icloud mail problem

I have macbook pro. Just installed icloud on that and iphone.
All fine, however, email function in toolbar on macbook no longer allows send/receive and mysteriously requests then rejects password.
    1) How can I get icloud email function into toolbar for easy access? (Don't want to keep logging onto icloud page to check mails.)
    2) On icloud email within webpage there is no "sound" function. If so, where?
Thanks in advance for any advice,
    Jeff

Nope.  Turns out that even though I have two Macs running 10.9.4, the one in question doesn't get the SMTP settings changed by iCloud settings when the password is changed, so I had to "Edit" the account in Mail, plow down to the password settings for the Apple SMTP server, and change the password myself.  Nothing in the System Preferences iCloud setting tab lets you change any settings on the local machine.  Apple is sure they are controlling everything when you make changes in iCloud, but they are wrong.  Identical versions of 10.9.4 are configured differently on two different Macs.

  • IPod touch 5 Icloud mail problem signing in.

WHen I press the email envelope it brings me to a list of providers (icloud, exchange, google, yahoo, aol, outlook). When I press on icloud it brings me to a sign in page. After I enter my id and password and press next it gives me a message that my email is already added to my iPod. When I press ok it brings me back to the sign in page. What am I doing wrong?

    Maybe:

Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

  • ICloud mail down more than 24 hours.....

Seems selling iphones is more important to Apple than servicing existing customers that are affected by this iCloud mail problem.
More than 1% must be affected by looking at the geographic spread from the comments on this "support" community.
Apple should come out and state that they have a BIG problem and give us some time frame to the fix of this problem.
I'm surprised the media hasn't jumped all over this! "APPLE MAKES A MISTAKE!"  the headline reads on the day the new iphone debuts.
Believe me if Google mail wasn't working for more than 24 hours the Apple pr machine would be all over it like a cheap suit, and would invest more resources to googles problem than they seem to be putting towards fixing this problem. This shows a big hole in Apples support because one's iCloud / MobileMe mail is not something that should be related to the purchase of new software or a product. Apple should set up a 1-800 number so affected customers can get information and solutions related to this problem.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • HT201342 I have not been able to upgrade to a new computer. So I am running an old OS 10.5.8 in a Powerbook Pro 15¨. I recently have had some e-mail problems. I would like to know if this is related with all transitional process from @mac to @icloud.

I have just starting having problems with my @mac.com account because I still have an old computer. Un fortunatelly so many years this is my main account and no option to send e-mail are possible.
Is this related with the transitional process from moving to an @icloud.com account?
    regards

First of all, your profile says you are using OSX 10.5.8 which is incompatible wth all features of icloud, although users have been able to use icloud's email with older versions.  With the transition to @icloud.com accounts, it's difficult to say what the effect is regarding older versions of OSX.  I've read posts by others who are still using these versions and have now been having problems with emails.
iCloud mail is a standard Imap account, any version of OSX (or Windows) with an Imap compatible mail client can use it.

  • Mavericks, Mail 7.0, iCloud account problem

Upgraded to Mavericks, now iCloud mail is off line.  Problem with iCloud account.  It looks like it cannot save the password.
Any ideas how to fix this??
If I send out an email, it will ask for my password and then work fine.  If I close and reopen the problem reutrns.
I do not have this problem with my MBA. Upgrade went fine, all mail accounts work.
    I found the answer!!
Mail = Pref= Accounts = Advance = Pull down menu - chnage auth: from password to Apple token.

I've been having this same problem. It seems to occure in both Mail app and Text Edit.
When I have a body of text, and I try to select a part of it, or click to set my cursor somewhere in it, the new text that I begin to type suddenly appears down the row somewhere else -- obviously where I had no intention of typing it.
Another issue that sprung up at the same time as this, was that Mail app will not automatically attach a signature file to my mail anymore. It always has to be manually selected from the pull-down in the new message window.
Both of these issus began immediately when I upgraded to Mavericks, and have even transferred over to a brand new computer when the user account was migrated over.

  • TS4002 Is anyone having problems receiving icloud mail on safari?

Is anyone having problems receiving icloud mail on safari?

    Hey Rick!
If what you mean by "iCloud mail" your [email protected] account, you should be able to get that in icloud.com via any web browser on any *computer.*
Your mail is accessed on your iPhone/iPod Touch via the Mail app. You CAN access your mail via Safari on the iPad, but I wouldn't do it that way; I'd just load your account into Mail like you do on the iPhone.
    Good luck!

    Hi, fungo47.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can reset your Apple ID/iCloud password via the steps in the first article below.  If you do not have access to the email account or are not receiving the password reset link, see the second article.

I am running os x 10.7.5, on a macbk, I have been using all the apps fine and not changed anything or run any software updates, suddenly my mail dows not think it can connect with the outgoing server for icloud and requests my password, which I give, but it repeatedly asks again and again. I have tried re-setting all the mail for icloud up again, and it thinks its ok, except the box keeps flagging up can't access outgoing server. I have checked it all a number of times, and I can access the icloud stuff including mail from http when I log in there. Anyone know why my mac will not accept my icloud password? suddenly I cannot get any icloud mail in or out, but I changed nothing. Why does it do this and why can't i fix it?

No carrier "automatically" unlocks at end of contract - many won't do it at all, even if requested.  I don't know what your carrier's policy is since you didn't say what country you're in.
However, if I understand you correctly, you didn't change carriers so it doesn't matter if it was unlocked or not. Try the following steps, as needed:
    1. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons for at least 19 seconds until the Apple logo appears
    2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    3. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
    4. Replace SIM card (don't care what Telstra says)
    5. Restore phone in iTunes as new, without using a backup
    6. Take phone to Apple.

  • Can't send iCloud mail from Outlook 2011

I have recently installed Office 2011 for Mac on my Macbook Pro and I want to set up my iCloud mail on it.  I can receive mail just fine but I can't send mail at all.  I keep getting error code 17092 saying that the SMTP server doesn't recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Outlook.  How can I fix this problem or do I have to just use the native Mail app?  Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I was having the same issue. I was able to fix by login into appleid.apple.com and setting my @me as the primary email adress.( Make sure you verify it) The deleted your i cloud account on you Iphone, Ipad or Touch then added it again. You should be able to send email using icloud

  • How can I update my Mail program in 10.6.8 to iCloud Mail?

I am running 10.6.8 on my iMac, which is my work "workhorse." I can't update it to Lion because I can't afford to update Quark/Photoshop et al that I'd need. And it works fine.
I also have a Macbook Air running the latest Lion, as well as an iPod 5 running IOS7. Both access my iCloud mail address and folders/filtering set up on iCloud.
However, the Mail program on my iMac is still showing my MobileMe mailbox (and MobileMe is in my system preferences). I had an elaborate filtering-to-folders set up in Mail for my MobileMe account (not in the online MobileMe). I've disabled all the filtering in my Mail program, but iCloud still sends some mail to the older folders I had set up in the program, overriding the new folder-filtering I have set up on iCloud.
So, sometimes I'll get an email sent to my .me email address from a client which I cannot see on my Macbook Air (or iPod) because it's sent to a folder on my iMac. I'm semi-retired so don't do much work anymore so I'd rather not "fire up" the iMac unless I've work to do. But as it is with the Mail situation, I have to leave it on all the time or I can miss client email.
My question is, can I get delete my "mobileme" account in my iMac Mail program and then add my iCloud account to it? I assume the MobileMe in the iMac's system preferences is there for good, because I can't update to Lion. Will that fix my problem, or is that even do-able?
I'm not sure I've stated this clearly. I'm trying to get total coordination between my iMac, MB Air, and iPod mail accounts in the Mail programs of each device without having to resort to using iCloud mail online on my iMac. Perhaps that's unavoidable?
Any help appreciated. If clarification needed, I'll try to explain this better... Thanks all!
    Nicol K

You can perfectly well access email in 10.6.8 - I'm doing it myself - and if you are receiving @me.com mail you are already doing so. the @icloud.com version of the address is exactly the same thing, and messages to it will arrive in the inbox alongside those to @me.com.
However if you have set up Rules to act on incoming @me.com mail it obviously won't act on @icloud.com messages, so you will have to duplicate the Rules if you want to keep them.
If you want to try starting over you can delete the account and set it up again, using the method described here:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
You can't access other iCloud facilities in Snow Leopard but if all you are interested in is the email you have no need to upgrade to Mountain Lion.
