ICloud MAIL QUESTION about attaching songs

How do I attach an iTunes song to my iCloud email? I wanted to send a song to someone via iCloud mail and couldn't get it to work.

I tried clicking on the paper clip for attachments, then just going to "music" (my iTunes songs), then clicking on the song I wanted to send and clicking "open." That usually works for attachments, including songs - and was fine when I had Yahoo email - but didn't work from my iCloud email. Any ideas? am I doing something wrong?

  • Mobile me to icloud mail question

I moved my mail over to icloud on my Mac, but the mail still says it's from mobile me & I still get the mobile me password prompt. Why?

Please always post your system when you have a question: the answer to this one is quite different depending on whether you have Lion or an earlier system.
If you are not using Lion you will have to set your Mail application up manually to access iCloud mail:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Tiger

  • Question about how songs are stored

As I understand it, songs in iTunes are only stored in the library, right? Any songs listed in any kind of playlists, on-the go, etc are only pointers back to the original (and only) song file in the library, correct? Does it work the same on the iPod? (I have an 8GB Touch).
I ask because my iPod is getting very near capacity, and I'm trying to make sure that I don't have multiple copies of the same song stored on my iPod.
Thanks for any input or help.

A nice trick is to create Smart Playlist (SPL) where you can limit the playlist to a certain number of tracks or size of playlist and then pick just that playlist to sync to your iPod (rather than everything). For example, on an "8GB" iPod (which really holds about 7.4GB), you might set up the smart playlist to be limited 7GB and selected by the least recently played. Check live updating.
By picking the limit of 7GB you can continue to grow your library and not worry about having too many to fit in the iPod since the SPL will automatically limit it for you. And by making the rule Least Recently Played, your playlist will auto refresh to remove stuff you just listened to and throw in other ones that have been a while since you listened (least played will also include new tracks added to iTunes). So your 7GB Smart Playlist will be ever changing to rotate in new items added or things that have been the longest since you last listened.
    Have fun,

  • Another Mail question about certificates.

    Hi all
I know there have been a lot of posts on that but I didn't find any answer working. I have an IMAP account whose certificate is said to be invalid by Mail.app. I tried ticking the always trust box, it did not change anything. Mail won't trust even without restarting it.
The detailed message is "The certificate for this server is invalid... etc." and then in the display under it "Unable to display certificate." It also works perfectly well in thunderbird.
Thanks if you have any answer.

  • Quick Question About Repeating Songs Within A Playlist

Here's the situation: I have 45 songs in one playlist and would like to hear 5 of the 45 songs being played more often than the other 40 songs. Is there a way for me to do that? I tried rating the songs, but it repeated ALL of the songs and not the 5 songs I wish.
Thanks for your time in advance.

At one point, I think, desktop iTunes used to have a checkbox for playing higher-rated songs more often when in shuffle mode, but can't find it now. I don't think that ever existed on iOS devices.
You could make a request for such function here:

  • Just a question about a song!!! HELP! CAN'T FIND IT!

I was wondering if anyone could help me find a song?
It's the one that is playing in the new ipod commerical; the one where they are salsa-ing(I know that's not a word).
I can't seem to find it on itunes. I know at some point they had a playlist of all the songs that they play on the commericals, but I can't find it.
Either that, or does someone know the name?
    Thank you in advance!!

Okay this is it I think!

I went to watch the video and this is what came up under it.

  • Quick question about naming songs

I am trying to burn a cd with the names on the songs when i burn in in my one mac I can see the names of the songs on there but when i put it in my other mac it just shows as aiff files with no name
how do I burn so i can see the names on whatever i play it on

The CD and track names are not burned anywhere onto the CD itself. If you insert the burned audio CD into another computer, the CD will appear as "Audio CD" with generic track names.

  • Simple Question About Transferring Songs From Ipod

I recently bought a new iPod 80 gb, and gave my little sister my old 30 gb iPod. Both of them are fifth generation iPods and we use Windows XP as our operating systems. We use separate computers.
Now her iPod has the music from my iTunes. My question is whether or not one can take mp3s from an iPod and transfer them onto another computer, by a certain program maybe?

    this is an option
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173
    or
you can download third party software that will allow you to take the information on your ipod and trasfer it back on to your computer.. you can find these programs at www.versiontracker.com
a few that are free for windows are iPod->Folder 1.2 or YamiPod - 1.0.1
if you use a mac I suggest senuti
all of these can be found on www.versiontracker.com
    good luck

  • Really simple Mac Mail question about the Delete button

When at a message, the Edit menu shows Command+Delete as being the proper keystroke for deleting a message.
Just pressing Delete also removes it from the Inbox.
What is different between that and Command+Delete?
    Thanks,
    doug

    Hi,
I don't have a very good answer to you other than the fact that the Macbook does not have a proper DELETE-button.  You delete by pressing cmd/backspace.
If you want to delete something through Finder you have to press cmd/backspace.  In orher programs, like Mail, you can delete by pressing only backspace.  In iPhoto you can delete pictures by presing backspace and conform with return.
The reason for these different solutins are not known to me...

  • Question about iCloud. How do I change my e-mail address, I have the wrong one and want to change it.

question about iCloud.  How do I change my e-mail address, I got the wrong address.

There are a variety of options available to you, including creating an email "alias" or changing the email address associated with your iCloud ID.
For all practical purposes your iCloud email address and Apple ID are interchangeable. To change your Apple ID read Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID.
If you simply created an Apple ID in error, you might consider abandoning it altogether and creating a new one. On the other hand, if you already used that Apple ID to purchase iTunes or other digital content, don't create a new Apple ID, because any purchases you already made are inexorably linked to the Apple ID used to make them.

  • Had to change my Apple ID because the original email address is no longer valid.  How do I change the iCloud user name on iMac?  I found instructions about signing out of iCloud and signing back end.  It asks questions about contact, etc.

Had to change Apple ID due to email address no longer valid.  Trying to change id for icloud...saw direction online about signing out of icloud and signing back in...when it ask questions about contacts, photos, etc. being deleted how do I answer those?  That just sort of freaks me out.

For the ones that give you an option, select the option you want (keep on the Mac or Delete). For the ones that are simply warning you, click on Delete from Mac.
They will all come back when you sign back on, since all you did was change your existing Apple ID to a new email address. It's the same iCloud account, just with a different name.
It's the only way to get your updated ID signed onto iCloud.
    Cheers,

  • When I want to attach a file to an e-mail I'm sending from my iCloud account it makes the file show up in the body of the e-mail instead of attaching it as a separate file the receiver can open.  How can I change this?

When I want to attach a file to an e-mail I'm sending from my iCloud account it makes the file show up in the body of the e-mail instead of attaching it as a separate file the receiver can open.  How can I change this?

It should be an attachment.  Your Mac just displays a preview of certain attachments (such as .pdfs) in the body of the message.  A PC, for example, will see it as an attached file rather than a preview.
You can save the attachment on your Mac by Control-clicking on it and selecting Save Attachment.

  • Question about garageband: I have 3 short original songs that i wanted to merge ala "Bohemian Rhapsody". Is that possible in garageband? their tempos are all different from each other. Advance thanks.

Question about garageband: I have 3 short original songs that i wanted to merge ala "Bohemian Rhapsody". Is that possible in garageband? their tempos are all different from each other. Advance thanks.

First of all, GarageBand iOS allows for only one tempo and there is no Merge Song feature.
    What you can do.
Switch between the songs and copy-paste the individual Tracks. You can also Merge Tracks if you run into the 8 Track limitation.
    Hope that helps

  • Question about ICloud. Do I have to back-up my iPad and iPhone4 b4 sync with iTunes?

Question about ICloud. Do I have to back-up my iPad and iPhone4 to iCloud b4 sync with iTunes? Last time I synced iphone4 with iTunes, I updated to 5.0.1 when I connected, but it wiped my calendar entries. I had to reset to the last date I had synced (4months ago). So my question is... Now that I have iCloud, should I back up both my iPhone and my iPad before I sync with iTunes?  And will all the data from iPad, iPhone, and computer all merge when the iPad and iPhone are synced?

    It does not matter.
