ICloud Mail seems to be o slow on iPad Mini

Hi, we run iCloud Mail on a MacBook Pro (2010, Mavericks) and on an iPad Mini. For a few days now an mainly in the German evening times we have the problem, that Mail is working so slow, we have to wait for about 15 Minutes for a 7MB mov. The next day it runs fast and okay.
This problem is just on the iPad at the moment, the MacBook Pro is still working fine with iCloud Mail.
The Apple System Stats shows no probs for the moment. But... there are problems :-)
http://www.apple.com/de/support/systemstatus/
The Account shows:
eMail:     [email protected]
serve:     p04-imap.mail.me.com
SMTP:    [email protected] (iCloud)
TLS:       no
Port:     993 with SSL
Security     Apple-Token
IDLE activated
This all was given automatically with the account.
Do you have receving or sending problems, too?
Do you know if there is a Server-Problem at the moment with the iCloud Mail server?
Do you know, what we can do?

You're not alone. I'm in Berlin and I've been having the exact same issues for the past few days. My email kind of worked today but tonight it's basically unusable. I'm on a 100Mbit/s cable Internet connection and I've also tried on my 100Mbit/s Telekom LTE connection - they're both the same. I've monitored the speed that mail is sending/receiving data and - as I'm writing this and trying to download an old message on my iMac via the Mail app - it's downloading at 22Kb/s. I've searched all over the Internet for a solution and 99.9% of people are saying that iCloud is fine for them. In a thread I actually mentioned I'm in Germany because I wondered if there was a problem here. If that is the case, what can we do about it? The iCloud status has been green for the past week. My girlfriend and brother (also both in Berlin) have said their iCloud has been bad since last week too.

I spoke to Apple also.  They confirmed that the problem is on their end.  They put my account into "trouleshooting mode", issued me with a temp. password and told me it should be fixed by Wednesday of next week.  I did not hold back on expressing my disastisfaction with how long it would take them to fix - email being critical to my business.

Since iOS 7.0.4 upgrade Mail freezes daily mid-sentence on my iPad Mini. Any ideas on how to fix?

    Hello henkeblomqvist,
Congratulations on youre new iPad mini, and thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the iPad.
I recommend following these steps for an issue like this (you can skip 4 because it does not relate to the issue you are experiencing):
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

  • Why is my iCloud storage full when I bought a 32GB iPad mini?

When my mum bought me my iPad mini at Christmas (7 months ago), she bought me a 32GB and recently I have had notifications saying that my iCloud storage is full. I have deleted many apps and many photos, also when I try to delete the data of certain apps I don't want, the switch will turn to white (meaning it has been deleted) and when I go back onto Manage Backup the switch will be green ( meaning that it has obviously not been deleted). Why does this happen? Is it a problem with the iPad itself? My mum bought me the 32GB so problems like this wouldn't happen. Also writing this question my iPad has been running slow, is this because of my iCloud storage being full?
I just put this down to be that when you buy the iPad mini you get 5GB free for your backup and the other 32GB is for photos, apps etc. Is this what has happened I have used up the 5GB of iCloud backup? Or have I used up the full 32GB?
Thank you for taking the time to read and (hopefully) answer my question.

Apps, music, movies, sync'd photos from iTunes are part of iCloud backup.
You should turn off photo backup to iCloud and regularly sync your photos to your computer and delete them from the Camera Roll.

Also writing this question my iPad has been running slow, is this because of my iCloud storage being full?
    No.
Close all apps (double click Home then swipe up on all apps) then press & hold both Home & Power until you see the Apple logo.

  • The iCloud backup box won't exit from my iPad mini homescreen.  It has completely disable the iPad, I can't even turn it off.

My iCloud has not been backed up in 2 weeks.  The iCloud back up box appeared on my iPad mini and it will not exit.  I click the "ok" button, but the box will not go away.  I have tried to power off the iPad but am unable to do so because the box is disabling all iPad capabilities.  My iPad is connected to a power source and wi-fi currently, but I can't get into settings to force the back up right now.

Press the power button and home button at the same time and keep them pressed until the Apple logo appears - then let go.

  • HT3228 My Bellsouth/Yahoo mail automatically deletes from server on my iPad Mini. There is no option under Advanced to change this to "never". This does not happen on my iPhone or my Mac.

I have a new iPad mini. My Bellsouth/Yahoo mail account deletes mail from the server. There is no setting under Advanced to change delete from server. this is not a problem on my iPhone or MAC, only the iPad. It is also not a problem with my other mail accounts.

Because Airplaying to a Mac natively is not supported.
    Using AirPlay
As discussed in the article, newer Macs can AirPlay to an Apple TV or Airport Express.

  • IPad Mini 3 LTE Upload Speeds Slower than iPad Mini Gen 1

I have both an iPad Mini Gen 1 (non-retina) and a new iPad Mini 3.  Both units are WiFi + Cellular and are on Verizon Wireless.  The iPad Mini Gen 1 indicates full signal strength when on LTE, 5 dots.  The iPad Mini 3 indicates only 2 or 3 dots.  The difference in the number of dots, or bars, could simply be a difference in the method used to calibrate signal strength.   My first impression though was that the new Mini 3 did not have as sensitive a receiver as the Gen 1 Mini, so I decided to do some bandwidth tests.
Both units indicated a ping time averaging 40 milliseconds.  The download speeds were comparable, approximately 23 Mbps.  The upload speed for the iPad Gen 1 was approximately 20Gbps whereas the new Mini 3 was much slower, only 5Gbps.  Both my phones are also on Verizon and they gave me speed numbers like the Gen 1 mini.
So why would the new Mini 3 be so much slower when uploading, and why would the signal strength be so much weaker?  I must add that the Verizon tower I connect through is line-of-sight about 1/4 mile away on the hill behind my house.  I should have full signal strength on any device.
Getting technical here, all I can think of is that the two iPads are operating on different LTE frequency bands and not connecting through the same tower.  The iPad Mini Gen 1 can only operate on Verizon's 700MHz LTE which is band 13.  The new iPad Mini 3 can operate on either LTE band 13 or the new 1700MHz band 4.  The new 1700MHz band is now being used to alleviate congestion on the old 700MHz band.  Perhaps since my device is one of the few that can operate on the new 1700 MHz frequencies, Verizon is forcing my device to use that band?  Maybe that could account for the upload speed difference between the two devices?

I find it interesting to hear that  the new Mini 3 has this issue. I purchased two iPhone 6 pluses and activated them both around the 1st of October.. Both 6's are upgrades from 5's. I have been going round and round with both Verizon TSS and AppleCare Senior Tech Support about having 100's of dropped calls, weaker signal strength than my iphone 5's and the iphone 6's tendency to grab 3G service when both iPhone 5's  have solid LTE service. Apple engineers have had me jump through many redundant hoops including multiple restores, network resets, setting the phone up as new, having Verizon reprovision the line, I have even had one iPhone 6 replaced and tried three SIM cards. Things I have figured out on my own are that toggling Airplane Mode on/off usually makes the iPhone 6 switch back to LTE (But only for a little while. And doing this also temporily increases LTE signal strength when LTE is on 1 dot.) and as you suspect about your Mini 3 I have confirmed that the iPhone 6 Plus is almost always on Band 4 (XLTE Band) (The iPhone 6 does sometimes switch to Band 13. The iPhone 5 only supports Band 13 and therefore is always on that band).  Something to note about Band 4 vs. Band 13 is that there are two important differences in these bands. Band 4 has double the bandwidth of band 13 (20Mhz vs. 10MHz). Band 4 operates in the 1700 MHz frequency range and Band 13 operates in the 700 Mhz frequency range. One pitfall of Band 4 being in the 1700Mhz range is that the signal can travel less distance than Band 13 can in the lower 700 MHz range. Being that Band 4 has less reach it leads me to conclude that is the reason why I am seeing less signal strength on the iPhone 6 Plus (And you on the Mini 3).
**The way I finally figured out how to determine the band the iPhone's are using I found searching the web for peole experiencing my issues. Verizon could not tell me what band I was using, even when I was on the phone with them. On the iPhone there is a sequence of numbers, pound signs and asterisks that you enter in the dialer and press send. This brings up a field test that tells you many things about your network/carrier service (Many things which are Greek to me, as I am not a cellular engineer). Using this field test I have driven hundreds of miles watching what band I am on and my signal strength ( In what I assume is decibels). All that I have learned has yet to assist me in having Apple or Verizon resolve my issues.

  • My e-mail seems to be very slow to open on MSN. Why is this happening all of a sudden?

Firefox opens at start of sign-in on my mac. I then open msn.com, it is a little slow opening, but really gets slow when I try to open my e-mail. You can click on the mail and nothing happens...not sure why or how this began?

Double tap the screen with three fingers to switch off zoom. Go to Settings and switch off zoom so you don't accidentally switch it on again.
    Google ""iphone manual".

  • How do I check my iCloud mail using Safari on an iPhone or iPad?

I'm a satisfied user of iCloud email. Everything is setup and working great on my iPhone. Recently my iPhone died and I needed to check email using my girlfriend's phone. There was no other computer handy (just an iPhone). I assumed I could launch Safari and navigate to something like iCloud.com or m.icloud.com. Unfortunately launching iCloud.com in Safari on iPhone or iPad will just give you instructions to set it up. What if I don't want to set it up in the native app (for privacy reasons) and just quickly check my email in the browser? Shouldn't there be a way to do this? I find it a bit ironic that there is no way to check your iCloud email using a web browser on any of Apple's "post PC" devices.

My belief would be that you log into your iCloud account on the laptop by going to www.icloud.com and sign in with your iCloud ID. Then go to the Mail link.

  • How can I log into my ICloud Mail in Safari on my daughter's iPad?

I can't seem to be able to use Safari to check my iCloud email on my daughter's iPad.  When I type in www.icloud.com, I don't get an option to log in, I only get a message of how to set up iCloud on the iPad. Why can't I just get to the login screen?

iCloud.com cannot be accessed in a mobile browser. You have to identify the browser as a desktop version. You can do this in Safari by tapping in the url field and then pull down from the top of the favorites window to access Request Desktop Site.
Tap that to select the desktop version and then try again. It can be a little tricky to do this in Safari because of the way that you have to select the option for a desktop version, but it can be done. It is much easier in a browser like iCab Mobile, Mercury or Atomic.

  • ICloud mail not auto synching on iPhone or iPad

If I read and delete mail on my Mac in iCloud and look at my iPhone 4 or iPad2 (iOS 5), they will both show on lock screen, notifications banner and the mail icon badge all of the emails I already read and deleted.  I have to open the mail app and then within a matter of seconds they are either marked read or deleted, but I shouldn't have to open the app on all devices.  This should happen in the background.
Anyone else have this problem and maybe find a solution?

    Hi,
I had previously tried that, but only deleting the SQLlit databases.
This time I tried to delete the whole iTunes_Control folder as suggested, hard reset.
It resynched with iCloud and now I had neither artists names or album names.
As an added bonus iTunes no longer recognised the device and wanted to set it up as a new phone - good job I had backed up the folder so I could re-insert the iTunes information to sort that little issue out.
I've cancelled my auto renew on Match subscription. If I don't fix it by early December then I'll save my money and forget the idea of using it until next year.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
