ICloud Mail syncing

Why is it that all the emails in my Inbox are synced across iCloud so I can see them on my MacBook, iMac, iPhone and iPad, but when I send emails from my iMac I can't see these sent items on my other devices?

On the iPad and iPhone tap Settings > iCloud. Make sure Mail is switched on.
On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud.
Make sure Mail & Notes is selected.

  • ICloud mail sync between iPhone 4S and Mac Book

I am new in the Apple world. I have a brand new Apple MacBook Pro right out of the box and an older iPhone 4S, using a Pop3 mail account (and for various reasons I do NOT want to change to IMAP, e.g. storage space issues on the server). I do not use Gmail or any other of these services, but use my own e-mail via my website provider. I download e-mails via POP3 onto various computers (but leaving e-mails on the server for a period of 4 weeks).
I can send and receive e-mails, no problem on my Mac nor my iPhone.
To sync between both (esp. with regard to sent mails) I have created an icloud account which works fine for synchronising my contacts, for example. But it does not in any way synchronise my e-mails between the devices or show any e-mails in icloud mail (in icloud or on in Mac mail) at all. The folder is there, it's just empty.
I changed over from Windows after being frustrated by performance issues (although I am starting to miss Outlook already). But in the Apple world I am already overwhelmed by the feeling that I do not have the slightest idea of how to set up things here...I am aware that I might not get the simplest basics, but I have no one to ask (since all friends are Microsofts-addicts).
I use three e-mails accounts (work and private) and now I am already stuck with getting to run one and sync it over the devices, let alone three.
    Thanks for any help!
    Stephanie

Apparently you must be very narrow minded. I don't want to develop an e-mail client from the scratch.
I would implement the sync the following way.
Assuming I use POP3 on both my iPhone and my MacBook. On my iPhone mail client I am downloading e-mails and reading them from time to time and replying. There is an ended set of what you actions you can do with your e-mails. Every e-mail has a unique ID / fingerprint - you can recognize it with 100% accuracy. I'm also downloading e-mails on my MacBook mac mail and performe the same ended set of actions on this e-mails. So the system architecture should be as follows:
    1. MacBook mail client queues all the actions I have performed with my e-mails on my MacBook.
    2. iPhone mail client does the same - creates a queues with actions I have performed on my iPhone.
    3. If I have the syncing turned on on both of my devices and I'm logged in on both of them with the same Apple ID both devices process the queues to my iCloud, compare it and update status of my e-mails according to the actions in each queue.
So I will rather wait until Apple will do this simple solution.

  • What does iCloud Mail Syncing accomplish?

I have one Mac desktop and two laptops, plus an iPhone & iPad. I use use IMAP with my Gmail account and forward my "iCloud" mail to my Gmail account. I am using OS X 10.9.3.  It seems the IMAP features keep the mail "synchronized" on each device. I thought iCloud sync may sync smart mailboxes across the devices, but I can't seem to create smart mailboxes that persist (separate discussion topic).
Since I can't seem to use smart mailboxes, is there any reason to sync mail through iCloud? What is it supposed to do?
    Thanks Dave
P.S. feel free to comment on my other thread!
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/26116959#26116959

That make sense, but  still somewhat confused. I have found other threads that discuss syncing smart mailboxes across Macs (not sure about iOS devices).
    For example: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4137249?start=15&tstart=0
There are data files in the Library that suggest smart mailbox syncing such as:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/SyncedSmartMailboxes.plist
    ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~mail/Data/MailData/ubiquitous_SyncedSmartMailboxes.plist
I kind of assumed that "System Preferences --> iCloud --> Mail" allowed that sync tooccur (?).
Of course, I still can't create smart mailboxes anyway due to my other issue described in
https://discussions.apple.com/message/26116959#26116959, so it is kind of moot until I resolve that issue.

  • Does iCloud Mail Sync All My Mail?

Possibly a daft question but if i turn on my 'Mail' setting in iCloud on my MBP, and i have 6 email addresses in Mac Mail, does it Sync all those addresses and mail? or just the iCloud mail?

i meant can iCloud handle all the other mal addresses i have on Mac Mail...
if i switch on iCloud sync for mail, when i login remotely via a browser, do i see all my 6 emails, or only my iCloud mail?

  • ICloud mail syncing issues

My daughter and I have seperate iCloud mail accounts.  Her mail messages have started to show up in my mail  --  on my phone, iMac and on the web.  (My messages are still there too.)  This began after I bought a song for her from iTunes.  She does not have her own iTunes account but rather I buy her songs on her iPod using my account, just to have some parental control.  After buying it on iTunes, I saw her iPod in the list of devices associated with my iTunes account.  I may have made some changes in the "Summary" tab to create this problem.  Please help seperate our email accounts.  THANKS.

What you describe is not technically possible, so something else must be going on
Firstly, do you actually have completely independent iCloud accounts, which were setup independently using separate AppleIDs, or are you actually using different iCloud email aliases within the same iCloud account?
If you are using different iCloud aliases within the same account then you will receive each other's email. Aliases are not separate email accounts. All email to all aliases goes into the same InBox.
iTunes and iCloud are separate, so her iPod appearing in your iTunes is to be expected.
When you check in a Settings > iCloud on your devices are you each signed in to your respective iCloud accounts?

  • ICloud Mail Slow?

Anyone else experiencing excrutiatingly slow iCloud mail sync? I'm using Apple Mail in Mountain Lion, and after starting Apple Mail iCloud takes forever to sync up. When I try to access via the webmail, some folders time out while loading.
There are no mentions of issues on the iCloud status page.

Sending email through iCloud has been extremely slow. I may have to change my e-mail to Gmail. This is ridicilious. It is slow sending basic e-mail on my iPhone and on my Mac's at home.

  • ICloud Mail not syncing as "read" across all devices

If I read an email on my Mac, it does not mark as read on my iPhone and i still see the new mail notification on the lock screen and there is a new mail mark on the mail app icon when i unlock the iPhone until I open up mail app and it checks manually.
When I used the Gmail Exchange server or Gmail App with Gmail account  it works perfectly and when i read my mail it sync immediately on all devices and the new mail notification disappear immediately after reading the mail on the other device.
Is there any way that iCloud mail can update reading mail Immediately like Gmail Exchange server or Gmail App?

Unfortunately, iCloud only pushes new mail. In iOS, it has never pushed the updated status of mail read, moved or flagged on other devices. http://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT203545
You could try switching your iCloud mail to fetch instead of push. I've never tried this, but maybe it will fetch the read status, as per the fetch schedule.

  • I'm having a trouble getting icloud mail without my personal email. All icloud features syncs unless mail didn't sync I am running mac ox 10.7.2 any ideas?

I’m having a trouble getting icloud mail without my personal email. All icloud features syncs normally unless mail didn’t sync I am running mac ox 10.7.2 any ideas?

I discovered that my cord was bad. I used someone else's cord and then it worked - that's how I was able to determine it was the cord, so I replaced it. (In case someone else has a similar problem.)
BTW, I'm still having a problem syncing my iCal, so I posted that problem in the iCal forum. If you think you can help, please look for my message there.

  • Sync online iCloud mail with my Mail?

    Hello,
I would like to know if it's possible to sync my online iCloud Mail, with my iMac Mail. (OS 10.6.8)  I'm sensing i cannot do that until i upgrade?
My second question is how can i sync my Mail, Contacts, and Calendars from iCloud to my iPhone (iOS5.1.1)
Thank you for all and any help!
    Lori.

If you can't get your mail to work on Snow Leopard after June 30, you might want to try one of these approaches
    1. Configuring Mail in Snow Leopard
    2. Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

  • Why does iCloud not sync mail rules?

This seems like a no brainer. When I view my email on my Iphone, I see all my Spam, which would already be dispatched to the Junk box on my desktop, had I looked there first. Why does iCloud not sync my Mail rules, and is there a solution for this?

It is not Mac to Mac.
Why not look up iCloud support, it was never offered as anything outside iOS 5 supported devices.
Maybe if you would stop reading into things what isn't there.

  • ICloud mail not staying in sync across devices

I upgraded to iCloud on two Macs running Lion and one iPhone running iOS 5.  My mail (Apple Mail 5.2) no longer stays in sync - it used to work seamlessly via MobileMe.  I followed all of the instructions to migrate my mail accounts.  Here are the issues:
If I delete mail on the MBP, it does not delete on the phone...
After deleting messages they reappear within mail (as READ mail) on the MBP and on the iPhone
I cannot access my old sent mail (prior to iCloud move)...mail keeps trying to open but is never able
I checked all the mail settings on MBP and phone and they seem right, but I'm unclear about IMAP vs. "IMAP enabled" as referenced in another post.  I see that some folks are having mail sync issues, but I've not found any posts that specifically spell out the above issues.  I have not yet synced the phone with iTunes since the migration.  Will do that next.  Also have not yet tried deleting the account on the iPhone as I want to understand the IMAP issue first.  Another thing that I'm unsure about is why iCloud defaulted to my @mac address (vs @me).  I read an article that said I could change that, but I don't know if that's appropriate at this point.  Perhaps that is the underlying issue!!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Update:  I spent an hour on the phone with AppleCare on Sunday and the problem is now resolved.  In case I'm not the only one out there with this issue, I will share the solution that worked in my case.  In a nutshell, I had to empty the trash folder in my iCloud account.  I have it set to autodelete every 30 days, but should probably do it more frequently.  What I noticed when talking with the advisor is that no mail had entered my trash can since the migration to iCloud.  Even though I knew that I couldn't permanently delete mail from the inbox, I hadn't noticed that it wasn't staying in the trash.  In fact, it wouldn't go to the trash at all.  I would hit delete, and it would go into space....then reappear in the inbox a minute later.
We tried a number of things before the advisor had the idea of clearing out the trash can.  We first verified that I was able to delete email while logged into icloud.com.  Then we set up a new user and linked the Mail app to my iCloud account, and the same issue presented...except in this case, there was no trash can even present because it was a new account and I could not delete any trash.  We tried removing the iCloud association and then setting it back up - no change.  Of note is that my Gmail account continued to work fine in terms of deleting mail.  The problem was specifically with the iCloud trashcan.  Once it was cleared out, I was able to delete a weeks worth of email.
For what it's worth, I am still unable to look at my MobileMe sent mail, which I occasionally like to do.  A new new folders were created during the iCloud migration:  MobileMe Sent mail, recovered mail, deleted, and junk.  These folders appear to be empty now, but earlier in the week I could view the message headers, though the messages would not load.  Now I don't have access to them at all.  So a word of caution to anyone that really needs copies of their sent mail on MobileMe....you may need to copy that mail to a new folder before migrating!

  • Mail sync iCloud

I am using iCloud mail account as well as other types of accounts (Gmail, etc) and different HW (iMac, iPhone, iPad)
All mails arrive correctly on iPad and iPhone BUT on iMac i have problems syncing mails from iCloud i.e some mails do not appear or only days later in my iMac mail.
I have tried disabling the iCloud account on iMac, closing and opening iMac mail app.  Creating new iCloud profile.  Nothing seems to work.
It is a random problem and therefore even more annoying as i have to check my other devices to notice that some iCloud mails have been missing.
I know it is not a new problem for Apple but i wonder if a fix does exist.
    Tks

  • Cannot sync iCloud mail on my Mac

I cannot get my iCloud mail in Outlook on my Mac. The message reads "sync pending for this folder". It's been like that for 3 days now. I receive the mail on my other devices but not my Mac. I have OSX 10.9.4 and Outlook 2011. Have checked the iCloud incoming and outgoing addresses and they are correct. Any suggestions?

The Microsoft knowledge base article that @randers4 gave you, in there is how to setup Outlook for Mac 2011. Is that what you have tried/done? Replace "icloud" for the "mac" or "me" that is indicated in the KB. If you've done all that and it still doesn't work, I'm afraid that, as @randers4 indicates, use the Mac Mail app. I've tried Outlook 2004 for Mac and Outlook 2011 for Mac and every Outlook version from 2003 - 2013 on Windows, it simply doesn't work as well as the OS X Mail application. I have missing folders and missing mails.
Any particular reason to stick to Outlook? If you have POP, Exchange, or IMAP accounts as well as iCloud, the OS X Mail app works with them as well. I'm on OS X Mavericks (10.9.4) on MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013) and have Office 365, but I've deleted Outlook. I know this doesn't help, but try to use the Mail app for other accounts as well.

  • ICloud mail not syncing to all devices

Hi, For the past few days my iCloud Mail program has not been syncing/downloading my .mac mail properly between my apple devices (iPhone 4, iPad new, and MacBook pro). The iPhone is getting mail Pushed as normal, but the laptop and iPad have shown no new mail for days. I've tried everything listed on the support pages and few things found on other forums. And I've also found a number of forum posts about iCloud mail migrating to new servers and that this is causing interruptions.. I have no idea what to make of that, but currently I can only access my .mac account by checking my iPhone or going to the iCloud webpage in Safari nothing is downloading. Any ideas/suggestions?
    Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi, I have the same problem.  Its working fine on my iphone, ipad is OK, but iMac not syncing.  My wifes account works fine though.  [email protected] accounts.
