ICloud not picking up contacts despite being active for contacts.

I'm sure this is simple. iCloud is not picking up my Contacts from my MacBook Pro. iCloud is enabled for contacts. what else could it be? I have Mavericks.

Try going to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Contacts, choose Delete from Mac (they will still be in iCloud), restart your Mac, then go back and check contacts again in system preferences.
If that doesn't work, go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts, restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in. Your iCloud data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in.

ICloud not syncing and Contact problems with merging duplicates

I was having problems with the syncing of my notes app. When I got the iphone 5 I had since using Mountain Lion I had started to make use of the fact that the notes sync across iCloud. Great. Although not for long. Everything was going fine notes were syncing across devices but then spontaneously they stopped syncing for no apparent reason. I then went to look in settings, looked online and all through discussion forums. Switching notes on and off on icloud both on the macbook and on my iphone. Restarting devices etc etc. iCloud itself online was not able to access the notes app. I kept getting error messages that I would submit to apple. Then I finally relqinquished and unhooked the iCloud accounts from the computer and phone. And at the sacrifice of losing albums in my photostream they sprung back to syncing.
Then the real problem happened. I had selected to keep a copy of my address book in contacts when I unhooked my computer just in case. When everything linked back up again, I then had duplicates in my address book. Not 1 (this can happen just having icloud active) but 5 sets of duplicates, granted I had kept a version from when I unhooked. So I looked around again for how I could quickly and easily get rid of duplicates. Following suggestions online I go into contacts>cards>look for duplicates. I had 1200 or somthing duplicates, so naturally when given the option "would you like to merge the info in these duplicates I click yes. The MacBook starts to chugg away. Its gonna take a while. So I come back later. And before returning to CONTACTS, go to send a message from MESSAGES and I notice that 80% of the threads have no name. I go back to CONTACTS and WHAM 100s of contacts disappeared in the merge never to be retrieived again. You cant restore CONTACTS from Time Machine as it is just mirrors the contacts that you have in present time. Restoring phone doesn't work becasue it just downloads from iCloud after it has restored. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS. I am livid.

Once you have done that - presumably it will sync with iCloud - have a look and the contact should appear on your iPhone too.
On your iPhone go on Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendar> Under "Contacts: in "My Info" select That new contact you created on your Mac.
Let me know if that works.
-On another note, so what you are saying is, if I take my 15' Macbook Pro in and they have none of the old ones in stock, they just give you a Retina display one! Did you take it to them for the contact issue you were having or something else?

ICloud not working with contacts and says I need to re-install.

On my PC, i've downladed the iCloud control panel my photo stream and my bookmarks work fine but when I click on contacts,calendars an error pops up and says iCloud is not installed properly. Ive logged out then uninstalled and reinstalled again(a few times) but I get the same problem. It worked before but not anymore.
Im sstrying to get it to work with Outlook 2010.
Any ideas how to fix this?

My son has Lion installed and I misunderstood what he told me about the download. (I had presumed it saved the download as a .dmg that you could reuse)
Reinstalling in Snow Leopard or Lion should not delete any of your personal stuff but it is always wise to have a Backup.
If when you highlight iChat in the Applications Folder and do a Get Info (CMD + I keys together) AND the change to 64 bit is not staying are you doing it from an Admin Users Account ?
(the App will not stay highlighted if you press CMD and I separately)

ICloud not syncing my contact photo on any of my mac's!

So far I have really liked icloud but here lately on my iMac and Macbook Pro me personal contact card will not sync my photo from my iOS devices. If I change the photo from one of my Mac's it wont sync to my other devices. Everything else syncs just fine, addresses, emails, and other contact photos are syncing great.
I know it might not sound like a big deal but i hate seeing the default icon that shows up when I log onto my Mac. THanky you for anyhelp that you may be able to provide.

ICloud not keeping our contacts up to date, even losing some altogether

We have an iMac, iPhone and 2 iPads, all in the same cloud. It works fine for our calendars. But for some reason, our Contacts are a mess. We keep on losing contacts, usually the same ones. Put them back in, a week later, they are not there. Today I compared my iPhone to my iMac, just for one group, which has about 30 contacts. About 8 contacts were missing from the iMac. I restored them. And of course, you don't realize a contact has disappeared until you need to use it! (We've had an iMac as our principal home computer for 4 years and I've had an iPhne for 3, so you can just imagine how many contacts are in my address book, well over 400).
Tonight, when my husband came home, I checked to see what his Address book looked like in his iPad, and it was even less complete than mine And yet, all of our devices are signed in with the same Apple ID to iCloud.
Is there such a thing as a dominant device? And if so, which one would it be?
What could be our problem? How do we fix it?

HT1349 iCloud not picking up my address book

I am trying to synchronise my iPad with my iMac. I have successfully synchronised my mail and calendar, unfortunately my contacts are not.

Why do my files not appear in Finder despite being otherwise accessible?

Last night I downloaded a bunch of html files via ftp so I could work on a site locally using MAMP.
The site appears in my web browser at localhost:8888/sitename/ and I can navigate round it without any problem but when I went to open the individual pages for editing in Sublime 2 the containing folder appears empty.
If I do Get info the dialogue shows 0Kb and no files. All folder permissions are normal.
After some hunting around I tried searching for the files in Finder only for them to appear in search results.
I can then see and browse the files in the finder search results - Get info on teh folder shows 35MB and the correct number of files.
But if I go back to browsing in Finder the folder shows empty again (intense head scratching).
In Terminal I can cd to the folder and see all of the files no problem.
Running Repair Disk permissions didn't seem to have any effect. I've also tried restarting with no effect.

Launch the Terminal application.

Privilege not assigned to user despite being in user_attr

I gave net_privaddr to a user by using usermod on solaris 10. user_attr was changed as expected and correct defaultpriv was added for the user but when I su to the user and check
ppriv $$ I don't see the privilege and neither can I bind to privileged ports.
I believe it is using the correct user_attr as all entries in nsswitch.conf has only files entries.
What could be the reason? Can anyone tell me how to resolve this problem?

I did not modify any files. I just used
usermod -K defaultpriv=basic,net_privaddr username
I then checked in user_attr file and the changes were there.
When I log in as that user and run
ppriv $$
I just see basic privileges in both E and I sets.
When I try to run apache with this user it says cannot bind to privilege port as expected because net_privaddr. If i change the apache port to say 8080(in httpd.conf) it runs just fine. So the problem is that apache cannot bind to port 80 because the user dosen't have net_privaddr privilege. So, getting the user to have net_privaddr privilege is the problem. And I don't understand why the user is not getting the privilege.

Cost center not picked up in the APC posting for Asset

Hi,
The account assignment object KOSTL is active in system, with the below settings.
and below is the transaction type specific settings.
in the posting key and the GL accounts Field status groups, the cost center is optional and activity type is also optional.
In Asset master the cost center is maintained.
But while doing the Asset Acquisition postin the cost center is not updated in the document.
It was expected that the cost center will be derived from asset master and would have reflected in the 1st line item.
Please help me understand, if some other configuration has to be looked at for this perticular issue,

CC in Asset Postings has a purpose
Since no Profit Center is directly maintainable in Asset Master atleast until EhP4 or 5, the PC in Asset APC line item was derived through the Cost Center or Internal Order maintained in Asset master
For that reason, your asset APC account must be created as Cost element, even though it is a Balance sheet account.. The cost element category will be automatically 90 - Statistical Cost element
Check if the APC account is made as Cost element or not.. That would be the reason most probably

Why is my iPhone 4S stuck on a 1% battery charge, despite being charged for 30 hours?

I have had my iPhone 4S for barely ten months. In the past, I have had small problems that would either fix themselves or just stop occurring, such as freezing issues. But recently my phone was drained to a 1% and after realizing this I quickly plugged it into a car charger. About 15 minutes later, I noticed it had switched to an 100% battery charge. I blew it off and the next time I glanced at my phone it was back to 1%, so I turned it off thinking it would reset it and I would leave it to charge. I came back to the phone maybe 30 minutes later to power it up and it displayed the red sliver of battery with a lightning bolt underneath it. It stayed like this for a good while and eventually came on. Since then it has been stuck on this 1% battery charge. One last thing I noticed was that the bolt inside of the battery on the top right hand corner sometimes shows a plug, saying its fully charged. I'd rather not turn it off because I'm not sure it will come back on. What do you guys suggest I do?

I have this same issue... the phone was fine, then 3 days ago then I noticed it was draining itself whilst on charge. Now it charges to 1% and lasts all day on that unless I reboot, then it just says plug it in and wont reboot! I have had a 100% charge, but it drained down to 9% in under an hour and then stayed at 9% all day. This is obviously an issue, so why is Apple not sorting it out?
Also, these kind of comments (BELOW) are about as useful as, "is it plugged in?"

I have tried 3 cables, 2 wall chargers and 2 docks, so it has nothing to do with those. I have cleaned the connections, so it's not dirt. It isn't water damage as the phone has been nowhere near water.

10061 - Cortana not available (despite being in UK)

Hi All,
After some pain, I managed to get 10061 to install from 10049. I am based in the UK and working on an i7 SP3.
The install hasn't worked as well as I'd hoped - Cortana is now region restricted to the US. I am in the UK and when I installed it was no longer active, despite being active in 10049 before-hand.
If I switch the region to the US (plus number formats etc etc - there are a couple of settings) it suddenly activates. If I change back to UK, Cortana disappears and I get the message "I am afraid I am not available in your region".
It's meant to be available and the US region restriction was extended to multiple regions a while back.
Any thoughts? - would trundle along with US as my region, but that mucks up all my dates and excel!

ICloud not syncing Contacts or Calendar to iPhone 4S.

On Saturday, I noticed my Contacts were blank on my 4S...the screen had the blue gray bar at the top with the "+" in the upper right and then where the contacts should be was white. My calendar looked correct; however, my appointments were gone. I verified my information on icloud.com and everything was backed up. I contacted Tech Support and after three hours with a level 2 senior rep, I was directed to get a new phone from the Apple store.
It turns out that it wasn't my phone afterall...it's actually iCloud not pushing my contacts or calendar to my 4S. The Genius bar, after over an hour, had to turn off iCloud on my 4S and my MacBook Air which is now causing me to sync with iTunes via a cable. Has anyone else seen this issue? Any fix?

Alright. So...this worked for me too. Finally...and no hlep from the apple store OR apple care! Got a new phone from apple store...FAIL...no call back from Sr. Tech...FAIL.
So...I did the following:
On the phone first:
1) Switch to airplane mode
2) Reboot phone by holding top key and front button until apple logo appears (not red slider to turn off phone)
3) Settings - iCloud - Turn contacts OFF - Delete From Phone (make sure you get a check mark after completion)
Then on the Mac:
4) Open address book on mac
5) Command + A to select all contacts in address book...double tap trackpad and export as V card
6) Command + A to select all contacts in address book...goto Edit...drop down menu and choose delete cards
7) Verify all are deleted on iCloud because the address book is synced to my iCloud account
8) Drag and drop vcard backup back into all contacts in address book or choose import from File menu in address book
9) Verify all contacts were back on iCloud by visiting iCloud on my computer's browser
Back to the phone:
10) Turn Airplane mode off...make sure I connected to my WiFi network
11) Settings - iCloud - Turn contacts ON
Voila! Got 483 of my 488 contacts...good enough for me...only had 99 to 149 for the past month!!!!
OH - This also fixed my calendar issue...all my appointments are back!

My iphone 4s has turned itself off and will not come back on despite being fully charged. I have tried charging it but nothing is coming up on the screen and it didn't make a noise when I put it on charge. Help!

CO15 not picking valuation type

Please guide on below issues.
There is no error while posting through the COGI , but the problems come during the production order confirmation (CO15) , system does not pick the RM valuation type automatically for all the RM codes created few month back , even though it is maintained in master data.

You enter a confirmation for the process order or the production order. The product to be manufactured is to be handled in batches and is subject to split valuation. In that case if you don't maintained the valuation type during confirmation then it will goes to COGI. So please check that material is having split valuation.
To prevent this batch number has to be assigned in the order itself t, the batch number is specified a default with the valuation type.
Please refer the OSS note Note 331421 - Confirmation: Goods movement with split valuation.

Had the same problem. I uninstalled icloud, restarted my pc and reinstalled icloud and it's working fine. Hope this helps.
