ICloud not syncing calendars

My calendars are not syncing - even when I enter an event into the iCloud calendar!
This has been occuring for a few weeks.
I have an iMac, iPad and iPhone and it doesn't matter which device I enter the event into.  It seems to go nowhere.
Sometimes it will transfer an item, but describe it as "new event" even though I have a description on the original entry.
And then there are times when it works OK.  There seems to be no specific pattern.
This is disastrous!  Do I have to go back to a paper calendar?
Any ideas, anyone?

I did that and the entry went to all devices.
HOWEVER,
Here is a matrix of the other tests I performed and how the data synced:
Data entered:                                 iMac                              iPhone               iPad              ICloud
iCloud                                           Y                                  Y                     Y                     N/A
iMac                                             N/A                                 Y                     Y                     Y
iPhone 5                                        N                                  N/A                   N                     N
iPad 4                                            N                                   N                    N/A                  N
So, entries to the iPad and the iPhone seem to be the problem.  My setting are set to "push" on both (although I changed to push this morning and there is no difference.).

  • Icloud not syncing calendar with ipad

My 2 iphones have synced the calendars to icloud but my ipad 2 does not get the calendars from icloud to it.  How do I do this???

I also had this problem, with syncing calendar events from my iPhone to my Mac.  If I added an event on the iPhone itself, the event never showed up on either of my Mac's iCals.  The reminders did not sync in that direction either.  The only way to get an event to show up everywhere was to sit there and copy it off of my iPhone into my Mac when I'm sitting at the Mac.  I did not realize this until I missed an appointment.
But I figured out how to fix it in my situation - looks like just another aspect of a sloppy rollout of iCloud.  Once you have switched to iCloud, the iPhone now has a strictly local calendar, called "Calendar" by default.  It also has another calendar with the same name "Calendar," except that one is an iCloud calendar that syncs, and is the same as your old MobileMe default Calendar.  You will see this if you tap the "Calendars" button at the top of your iPhone's iCal display, which allows you to change which calendars are viewable.
But when you enter an event in iPhone, post-iCloud, the pulldown to select which calendar will contain the event defaults to the non-syncing "Calendar," because Apple has listed the local duplicate Calendar first in the hierarchy.  This looked absolutely identical in the pulldown to my regular fully-functional Calendar except for a very slight difference in the color of the bubble, so I did not notice, and I can't imagine most people would notice that they're now entering all their events in an impostor "Calendar" which is basically non-functional. (What possible use is a calendar that doesn't sync to anything?)  I finally noticed this when I was preparing to post the issue, and I noticed that my other two calendars (named "Diary" and "Exercise") had apparently been syncing both ways just fine.  When I decided to post a new event to all three of my calendars at once, to do the test, that's when I noticed the imposter "Calendar" was overriding my Calendar of the same name.  The reason events had been syncing when I entered them into the Mac, but not vice-versa, was that iCloud did not create a similar local-only Calendar in the Mac iCal app.
So to avoid having to pull down and choose the real Calendar each time I enter an event, I made the fake Calendar unviewable. (you do this in the Calendars button of iCal, not in Settings.)  It is remarkably stupid to cause a rollout to change everyone's default calendar from syncing to local, without them having a ghost of a clue.  Even if there might be some use for such a silly-seeming feature, it should be enabled only by conscious choice and not through a rollout.
Hope this works for you too.  I assume the steps would be the same for an iPad.

  • ICloud not syncing calendar properly (iPad, iPhone, Mac)

Recently my iCloud calendar hasn't been syncing properly to my iPad. I just realized this and turned off/on the calendar option in iCloud (for all of them) but this didn't do anything besides wipe all my appointments from my iPhone. I don't know how to get them to come back. The appointments still show up on iCloud.com as well as on Calendar on my Mac. Just not on my iPad and apparently now my iPhone too. When I add a new appt on my Mac or iCloud, they show up on the other one, but not on iPhone or iPad.
    Please help!
    Thanks.

  • IPad 2 not syncing Calendar to other devices through iCloud

My iPad 2 is not syncing Calendar events to other devices through iCloud
Devices:  MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion 10.8.2), iPhone 3GS (iOS 6.0), iPad 2 (iOS 6.0)
    iPad 2 Settings:
       iCloud settings: Calendars 'ON'
Mail, Contacts, Calendars: Default Calendar:  Calendar; Sync:  All events
       Shared Calendar Events:  'ON'
Within Calendar App:  Calendars checked:  Home, Calendar
    iPhone 3GS Settings:
       Identical to iPad 2 settings
MacBook Pro iCloud Calendar: Home and Calendar checked
I set up the following test event entries for the same date to see what was coming up in each device above:
1-From iPad:  iPad to iCloud test
2-From iPhone:  iPhone to iCloud test
       3-From iCloud.com:  iCloud.com to iCloud test
4-From MacBook Pro:  Launchpad Calendar App to iCloud test
(The last two entries may be redundant, but I wanted to cover all possibilities.)
I then I checked the Calendar App for each of the above devices for "events" 1, 2, 3, and 4 above.
The iPhone Calendar App had "events" 2, 3, and 4
The MacBook Calendar App through LaunchPad had "events" 2, 3, and 4
    iCloud.com had "events" 2, 3, and 4
The iPad, however, had "events" 1, 2, 3, and 4
Only the iPad had all events entered from all devices.  This creates a problem, of course, since I almost always have the iPad with me, and that's where I make additions/changes to Calendar, Contacts, Notes, and Reminders. Dependability across the Cloud is pretty important!  What can I do to resolve this?
N.B., Contacts and Reminders synced successfully across all devices through iCloud.  Notes, on the other hand, showed a different problem.  When I created a "Test from devices" note, the iPad and the iPhone showed the additions to the note from each device, including the MacBook.  The MacBook only showed what had been written from the MacBook.  Hmmmm...
Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • TS3999 My iPad is not syncing calendar events via iCloud that I enter on my iPhone 5, but events entered on the iPad are syncing with the iPhone.

My iPad is not syncing calendar events via iCloud that I enter on my iPhone 5, but events entered on the iPad are syncing with the iPhone.

On you phone, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar and make sure you have selected a calendar listed under your iCloud account as your default.  If not, make this change, then enter a new event on your phone and see if it syncs properly now.
If your settings are already correct, or if after changing them it still isn't syncing properly, make sure all the calendar events on your phone are in your iCloud calendar.  If not, enter any missing events either on your iPad, or on icloud.com from your computer.  Then, after your iCloud calendar is up to date, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn Calendars to Off.  When prompted, choose Delete from My iPhone.  After a minute or so, turn Calendars back to On to sync your iCloud calendar back to your phone.  Then try adding a new event on your phone and see if it syncs properly now.

I had this problem and finally fixed it after trying numerous ideas on the net.
Before doing the following steps I quit out of icloud on my iphone and my Macbook Pro
Step 1:  Finder Menu Go /Go to folder/~/library

  • I phone os 4 does not sync calendar notes

i phone os 4 will not sync calendar notes. Any suggestions?

I finally figured out that the iPhone OS updates now have several calendars to sync with. When you are entering into your iPhone calendar you must be sure that you are entering into the calendar (usually color coded) that appears within Outlook. If it is syncing with a different colored calendar, you will not see it in Outlook unless you actually check to visualize both calendars while in Outlook. These several calendars are usually identified every time you have a new Outlook Mail account and choose to sync calendars with that mail account. I resolved this by only using one colored calendar in both Outlook and on my iPhone to ensure they are syncing with the same (and only one) calendar.
BTW, I am not using iCloud or the MC Exchange functions on my iPhone.

  • E7-00 does not sync calendar with MfE

After Symbian Anna upgrade my E7-00 does not sync calendar at all with MfE.
Where was a problem while upgrading to symbian anna: I first tried to do it over the air, but the phone hung up while downloading part 2/2, so I ended up to do this by OviSuite. After that I sometimes get a "Järjestelmävirhe" (System Error?) alert when powering on the machine (after giving pin code).
I've tried to delete and reinstall Symbian Anna few times and removed the MfE settings but no hope. It seems to me that somehow the MfE-client (comes with symbian anna or firmware?) is still version 1.00.00 and with my collegues phone it says the version is (should be?) 3.00.000.
The collegues log (everything is working):
    05/10/2011 12:00:32 Mail for Exchange Build : 3.00.000
    05/10/2011 12:00:32 Device Software Version: 014.002
    My log:
    05/10/2011 12:05:31 Mail for Exchange Build : 1.00.000
    05/10/2011 12:05:31 Device Software Version: 022.014
Is this the problem? How can I upgrade only the MfE for E7-00. Ovi Store does not support MfE download for E7.

After much fiddling with my Calendar I have resolved the problem:
    1. I exported all the calendars individually and saved them on your desktop
    2. Using an iOS device delete all the calendars on your iCloud account (you should be able to use iCloud.com in the same way)
    3. Now that your iCloud calendar is empty, import the calendars from your desktop one by one waiting for them to fully sync before doing the next one.
    4. Done!
*I discoverd that one of my calendars was corrupted and would not install, perhaps this was the problem? However I believe that it was because my calendars had too much content (multiple repeating events and sporting event subscriptions). I got rid of the sports ones (huge) it was very slow to upload, and I decided to slim that calendar down as it's not very important.
I personally think it's a calendar event overload problem, too much content for iCloud to handle. It would make sence because I had no problems with any other part of iCloud (reminders/notes...) and my iPhone calendar was fine (because it does not upload any old events, ie dramatically less content)  I hope this helps!

My problem - when syncing and error messages  comes up:  iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone because an error occurred while margin data."  I've tried turning the phone off and back on, & tried both USB ports but get the same thing.  What can I do next since it doesn't give me even one clue as to what the error would be?

Before I started to resync calendars one by one as suggested in the troubleshooting article, I remembered something that came up in a sync when I first attempted :  a 'which one do you want to keep' message about a repeating calendar event, which came up with three options, one from Calendar, and two from iCal on the phone.  I deleted that event, then went through the calendar resync one by one, and all seems OK now.
In Music there is a way to find 'ghost' items that show up as grayed-out on the menus, so that you can try to reassociate or delete them.  It would be nice to have a similar way to work with Calendar!
Thanks for pointing me to the right article.

My iPhone 5S suddenly will not sync calendars with iTunes on my iMAC.  I recently upgraded the iMAC to version 10.8.5.  Am I missing a setting somewhere?

    Hey Oynkus,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You state you updated your iMac to OS X 10.8.5.  Did you update iTunes as well?
If so, you may find the calendar sync options under Info.
Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad - iTunes Help
Sync contacts and other info with iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad
Connect your device to your computer.
Click the device button, then click Info.
Select the items you want to sync.
    Click Apply.
    Take care,
    Nubz
