ICloud OS X email setup issue

Hi need some help with an iCloud email setup issue that doesn’t seem to have been covered by other posts or the Apple help factsheets.
Used my old mac.com Apple ID to set up an iCloud account which now shows as having my iMac as a linked device. To use iCloud Mail was prompted to create a new email address which I could do by turning on Mail in iCloud settings.
I signed into iCloud via my iMac and having deselected default options to use iCloud for Contacts etc arrived at the account page which has the various options on the RHS and my mac.com ID info on the left.
Ticked the Mail option on the RHS was asked to “choose an iCloud email address” underneath the box where you enter the chosen email address was a note saying “you cannot change your email address after creating it”. When I tried to  set up the new iCloud email address got a prompt saying “you cannot change your email address after creating it”.
Help!

You need to know Comcast's settings for incoming and outgoing server when setting up your OSX Mail app. The info should be somewhere on Comcast's help web page.

  • Corporate email setup issues

Hello - Just upgraded a Razr M to an LG G3 @ Target and while I've been able to get my yahoo, google and comcast emails setup my corporate one won't cooperate.  I've tried the exact settings I had in my Razr M without luck.   Any ideas?  Target was also unable, despite several attempts, to bring my contacts over via the SIM card.  Appreciate any assistance.

    1. go to messages icon >options> general options and set sent items to no
    2. if you get that message, that means there is a BIS account present for this PIN, call your service provider and they will release your PIn and you can create new BIS account and add personal email accounts

  • 8520 Email Setup Issues and App Download Issue

    Hey there
I got my first Blackberry ever yesterday. I've been wanting one for years but I finally got it and I cannot set up my email or download any apps.
Each time I got to setup the email the only option is 'I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server'
But I don't. And I know to download apps you have to download the app world. I did it via the desktop but apparently my phone is compatible?
I'm so confused and I don't know who to ask to help me.
    Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use the proprietary RIM Push email capability, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard.
    Good luck!

  • 9330 Email Setup Issues

I have a friend of mine that just got a Curve 9330 through US Cellular. They have the BB Data plan, we can setup a person email account with the live.com email they have. But when we try to set up a "blackberry.com" phone specific email i keep getting; "Unable to add account. Please check your information and try again". I have tried every combination of user names and passwords i can think of. I am working on my last nerve. It is running OS6. Can anyone help?

I don't know why your email would suddenly stop working but your cell carrier should have a self-serve BIS site from which you can add, delete and edit all email accounts on your BlackBerry phone.
If you can't get the email setup wizard to work, call Optus to gain access to the self-serve BIS site.

  • ICloud notes and email setup

Hey guys, really quick question. When I turn on either mail or notes in the iCloud settings it asks me to create a me.com email address. Can anyone tell me why?

Because you need an Apple provided @me.com email address to use the email and notes syncing features of iCloud. You can't use an email address from another provider with those features.

  • IOS4 SMTP email setup issues

IOS4 woes.... Had the "spectacular" experience of updating our Gen2 Itouch to IOS4. Email to our Verizon email account used to work flawlessly. I've sunk about 4 hours and finally got the unit to send email {receiving was never an issue} by creating a second SMTP email account, but outbound emails take 15 minutes to send {when they used to take only 10 seconds, great improvement Apple....}. How do I shut off the DEFAULT Apple / Yahoo account and use the secondary email server as the PRIMARY account?
    thank you for your help....Arrrrg {I'm a pirate!}

I was having the same problem with outbound email not working after upgrading my 3GS to OS4.0. The only solution that I found was to disable my existing mail accounts and create new ones. Go to Settings->Mail. Select the mail accounts that don't work properly and set them to Account->OFF. Then select Add Account from the Settings->Mail screen and create a new one. I set two mail accounts that weren't sending mail to OFF, then recreated them with Add Account. They both work perfectly fine now.

  • Email Setup Issues - Is it Yahoo or BTInternet

Up until a couple of weeks ago my btinternet email account worked fine on Mail for Mac. However it no longer will connect so I deleted the account and tried to set up a new one following BT's instructions on their website. However when I go to verify my username & password it comes up with an error message saying "Logging into the Yahoo IMAP server imap.mail.yahoo.com failed".
So I click on continue to see that it wants the incoming mail server to be imap.mail.yahoo.com yet BT's setup instructions say it shoud be mail.btinternet.com and that it should be a POP account. This is what it used to be when it was all working fine. If I change the mail server to what BT says it should be it comes back with another error saying "Logging into the Yahoo POP server mail.btinternet.com failed".
So now I am competely confused and have no idea how to get my email working again. I tried the helpdesk but they were competely useless and just said to use webmail. Well I don't wish to do that so I'm hoping someone here is more knowlegdable than BT's own customer services people.
    Thanks

  • Email Setup Issues Yahoo/Rogers

I just did an update on my Torch 9860. Now I can no longer access my @rogers.com email address.  I've tried setting it up several times using both the Rogers and Yahoo email addresses and each time I get an error stating "Invalid email address or password".  However, both the email and password are correct as entered.  I was able to add 4 other email addresses without problem.  I've also tried this on a Curve and had the exact same issue.  Any idea how to get this problem fixed?

Further to Tanzim's suggestion, try typing www.blackberry.com/integrate from your phone's browser to set up your emails.
    I hope that helps you.

  • Curve 8350 i email setup issue

I was on vacation over christmas and deleted my work email off of my curve so that I wouldn't be tempted to check it.  Today I tried to add my email address back on and it says that it can't configure.  So I tried entering the settings myself because it's Microsoft exchange server and I cannot get it to configure.  Any ideas or something I am missing?

    Hi there!
Is this BES-based? If so, then you need to contact your BES admins for assistance.
If this is BIS via OWA, then you need to follow these guides:
KB03133 How to integrate a Microsoft Outlook Web Access email address with a BlackBerry Internet Service account
KB15173 Locate the mailbox name for a Microsoft Outlook Web Access 2007 email account
IF something does not work, please include exactly what step you are on and exactly what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Blackberry email setup issues

I have the same problem. I switched from my droid back to my blackberry bold 9650 because my droid broke. I upgraded it to 0S6.  I can't access the email set up. Every time i try i get the little clock on the screen and then nothing. I tried going to manage email accounts and it says to contact wireless provider. The last time i spoke with the verizon rep she walked me through lots of steps, did a battery pull, a soft reset, did a device wipe all of that stuff and it still didnt work. I've tried doing a register now, and that still didn't help. I dont know what else to do, but I basically feel like I'm paying for a smartphone without the functionality of a smartphone. grrrr : (

If you attempted to register but didn't receive a registration confirmation message within 15 minutes or so, even after a battery pull, you will have to call VZW tech support for further troubleshooting. As you know, until it's registered on the BlackBerry network, you won't be able to do anything with your e-mail.

  • Email Setup issues with 2.02

Is it me or has anyone else had trouble setting up their email in 2.02? Every time I enter my email account, it goes through the whole verification process until ultimately it tells me my user id or password is incorrect. Sometimes even when it verifies my address, when I go checking my email, it tells me my account cannot be found.
What's up with that? Is there a fix or some workaround? I basically had to downgrade to 2.01. I couldn't take it anymore .. .

Long time web/mail server/host here, but no tech expert by any means. This seems similar to my problem in 10.7.4.
I am having users and contacts report external emails not reaching my Lion Server 10.7.4.Odd, because mail service appears to be functioning.
I sent an email from a yahoo account to see if I could get it through. Results are oddly intermittent, and always delayed. Eventually, I received a mailer daemon failure report citing 450 4.7.1 which has to do with reverse lookup, but I'm not sure if it's my lion server configured incorrectly (PTR records?) or if it's the fact that I had my lion server on aggressive filtering and that was somehow behind the scenes performing reverse lookups on various hosts before accepting their mail, and returning them upon failing that test?
I piddled around with the filter settings a bit thinking maybe they were too aggressive, but since I have spam still delivering with the ***Junk Mail*** tag, I wasn't sure why any would be rejected.
With it working intermittently, it's tough to know where to start. Any advice out there?

  • Email setup issues

I just got a replacement Curve. Same as my old one that stopped working. I went to set up my email and it said there is already an email associated with this device and to enter my PIN and MEID. So I entered the PIN. I didn't know if I was supposed to use the DEC MEID, or the HEX MEID, so I tried both, both with and without spaces. No combination I try works.I keep getting a message that says Invalid PIN or ESN/MEID format: Please retype your PIN and ESN?MEID. The information you provided is incorrect.
    Can someone help?!

What kind of Curve, model number, do you have?
    8330, enter your ESN
    8330m, enter the MEID
    8300, 8310, 8320 enter the IMEI
    enter no spaces or dashes.

Settings -> Mail -> Show -> set the appropriate number of recent messages to show
    and
Settings -> Mail -> select the Exchange account. In the window that pops up, there's a setting for how many days back to sync.
